My Take on Pert leaving Collingwood is either Pert or Buckley had to go to keep the supporters happy. It is easier to replace Pert than Buckley. On the Peter Jackson being excluded from the call, his job would be to present options for the board to choose, the end of the day Jackson isn't the one that has to work with his replacement. Is it a good or bad appointment we will know in 3 years time,
  2. Sorry, the bloke hasn't been able to get his body right to play extended periods of games let alone get fit enough to run through the midfield. I like Dean Kent as he has two attributes that we are crying out for speed and a penetrating kick, he kicks the ball hard and fast over distance. Would like to see him get his body right force his way into the senior side and stay fit and in form for the last 6-7 games. We need him and Gartlett in our forward 50m with speed and pressure
  3. I am a fan of Watts, understand he had to go and really wish he would do well at Port. He looks lost out there, like he needs to get out of Dixon and Grey's way. I wonder how Jack Trengove is going and if he is pushing for selection
  4. Thats what i posted i reckon we need a certain amount of cash to fund a new admin training base we need to contribute so the afl local state and federal governments will chip in.
  5. Sorry, we went into debt to purchase these machines but we won't use the money from the sale to pay off our debt. Something a bit smelly going on, I will take a stab at it and this is my take only could be way off the mark but makes sense to me. A month ago we go to the media about establishing a home base and finally bringing our club together. I reckon the AFL, State and Federal governments have gone OK we are in but you need to contribute X to make this happen. We don't have X and can't finance the X amount with our current debt. You know what lets take the Moral high ground sell off an asset get the coverage as a socially responsible community club but more importantly raises the X amount we need to contribute for our home base. To me if you have the money to pay off your debts you do it and save the interest, to me if what the age is stating is correct it will be money in money out
  6. Didn't the club go back into debt to finance the purchase of the Pokie licences. Hope the sale has covered our debt
  7. I don't think people would make the decision to re-new their membership based on one round. I think the teasing aspect of 2017 some really good wins, but 5-6 really terrible loses that we happened to have one of those loses in R23.
  8. I live in an area that is in Melbournes West, both North and Bulldogs have a footprint in our area but today Hawthorn said stuff you we are targeting your area for new members. They did a mail box drop in our area with an offer of free family tickets to the Hawthorn V Melbourne game. One think the residents of my community love is anything free
  9. Agree 100%, I will renew at some stage no rush but really have no desire to watch AFL, take the emotional link to the club you support out the AFL product isn't entertaining, footballers are robotic and over coached.
  10. And like all clubs we have another group of band wagon supporters. They are the group you need to get onboard for large growth
  11. Win that Collingwood game and we are 3000 in front. Need to grow not maintain.
  12. Thats what i thought. Took them each week they loved going. Hit school they are the only kids in the class supporting melbourne. They stick fat with dad for a few more years and then they understand winning and losing. I hope for your sake we start winning
  13. Disagree with this. Everyone has the right to decide. Essentially over the past 11 years we have had an inferior product. If any business had a product that bad for that long they would have shut their doors. Our supporters have kept this club alive for an extended period, like our players each supporter decides whether they buy in and turn up each week. Circumstances change both my kids now support other teams you try to steer them towards the team you support but they eventually decide who they will support. Them supporting other teams comes down to on field performance easy to convince kids when your team is winning when their not is easy for their mates to convince them to change.
  14. It all about Essendon, we don't play home games against them because their clash jumper really isn't a clash jumper and me a small club that is bullied by the AFL to have a white jumper because the AFL don't have the courage to upset Essendon, same as Collingwood at least they have tried to this year and I think that is more on the back off Richmond having great success both on and off field with the Yellow clash strip
  15. There will be a lot of members that would have opted out of dedicated Demon program, that will explain the difference between this time last year to now. Will be a few that will be wait and see how preseason unfolds and you can't blame them, all we have heard from the club over the past 11 years it the hype of youth and potential, you know what a lot of members aren't buying in on that anymore, we are a laughing stock of the AFL, even the AFL treats us like that. I have lost my kids to other clubs so really for me no point renewing as I won't go to the matches with out them.

Wouldn't like to see this kid in the West Coast Forward line he would dominate playing with Kennedy and Darling
  17. I think Freo just wanted to get it out the way, they have at least 3 other deals they need to close in 24 hours
  18. Spot on, pick 29 and 35 to Bne for 19. Or 28, 29 and 45 to Gold Coast for 20 and 22
  19. Adelaide should back what their Captain put out there about Lever going for Money and not Success. 2017 and 18 pick plus 2nd this year for Lever and Adelaides 1st round 2018, Walker is confident they are better than us in 2018 so lets make it interesting as a bit of a side bet
  20. I know one bloke that will be terrified, a big full forward that has a player that can hit him lace out going to a bloke that can't hit a target except if he is kicking a goal
  21. Really, the guy is a solid defender Pick 10 is more than enough. I reckon Pick 10 and 28 for pick 18 and Lever
  22. Agree, our Tall defenders are flakey at best and we don't have 1 that is a rookie. Frost is a monster and needs to learn to use his strength, Oscar is Oscar bit like Tom we never know what we will get so we need a high quality in Lever plus these guys getting better.
  23. Is he 200cm, take a mark and can kick
  24. Tall Defenders on our list T Mac, O Mac and Frost, that is really it. We have two areas to fill a tall defender and second ruck/Forward, this bloke fills one of these voids.
  25. That last half of the season in 1998, is still the best period of football for me as a Melbourne supporter, I only started to follow the club start of the 90s, didn't have any interest in the VFL prior to then. The games against West Coast, Richmond, then finals V Adelaide and St Kilda before North got us really was an extremely exciting period with the Wiz central to this
