  1. 1) Scully 2) Trengove 11) Carlisle 18) Fitzpatrick 34) At the Moment Pass(if we delist another player we can look at this then) PSD 1) Ball or Thorp Depends on Ball but we either add 3 midfielders a 2 KPP or 2 mids and 3 KPP. I like Fitzpatrick because he gives you the option to have a tall forward/second ruckman @200cm tall.
  2. Unless they came to a settlement figure, I don't very much if Hawthorn saw the split as amicable. Any club would hate to be paying out someones contract and get nothing for it. I wonder if there is an agreement that if he does get picked up Hawthorn just have to pay him the difference if any. Nice win if Thorp gets picked up and the Hawks still have to pay his contract out.
  3. If we had the same poll after Aaron Davey's first year would he have the same results. Jurrah has the ability to be a star but isn't one yet. When he can kick 50+ goals in a season then we can start calling his a star. At the moment like most our list he is full of potential, a few good games don't make you a star, 2-3 years of consistant good footy make you a star.
  4. Thats why guys like Blease, Strauss, Davey, Maric, Jetta, Sylvia and Green are so important you get Scully Jones and Moloney, feeding these guys at full speed and all of the sudden playing in our forward line becomes a lot easier.
  5. I agree, who cares, if he comes great if he doesn't we will get the 2 best midfielders in the draft, one that is being compared to C Judd and the other to J Hird. We are going forward with or with out Luke Ball. I keep hearing St Kilda's window is now and ours is some years away, St Kilda may play in another grand final before we do but Luke Ball might not get a game. What would you prefer 14 games at the MCG or playing at TBO. He was playing good footy at Sandy and they wouldn't give him a game, he was on the nose at St Kilda, and once your one the nose with a coach you always have that stink about you with that coach. I wouldn't rule out Thorp if Ball chooses to stay at St Kilda.
  6. I love players that have the ability to get their arms free in a tackle, Scully and Trengove from the vision I seen have this ability. Hopefully Nathan Jones can learn this, the ability to take a tackle and off load.
  7. There are a few Sunday games with us starting at 2.10 and a second game at 2.40, I assumed th 2.10 game would go free to air, looks like the 2.40 games will
  8. Looks to me that we will also get 12-13 free to air games, all interstate home games at he MCG we should be able to draw over 20K and our other MCG we should draw over 40K. In fact 3 games Haw, Coll, Ess we should hit above 50K. The club must be happy
  9. Every player will be linked to the MFC over the next 4 weeks.
  10. Looks good but he would be another guy that needs to eat a cow per week.
  11. If he gets through the National and PS Drafts, if he is fit I would take him with a rookie pick. We all mature and if this is the shot in the arm this guy needs he can fit into our team. 195cm key forward 21 years old, I would consider a rookie spot or if we miss on Luke Ball use our PSD pick 1.
  12. What has this guy done? If he does have 1 year to go on his contract the Hawks will have to pay him out, or he has breached a clause in his contract. He can play, either he has stuffed up and broken some club/AFL Rule, has an injury that has ended his AFL Future, rocked up to preseason as big as Stewart Dew or his team mates can't stand him, you don't just delist 195cmyoung KPP that are still in contract.
  13. That's OK, at least if we win or lose we will be playing in Melbourne the next week. I would say if we lose we might play at Casey.
  14. On Shane Valenti, he has been delisted as we all know, the club has to give him a chance to nominate for the National Draft, if he doesn't get picked up in the National or PSD, are we able to draft him again in the rookie draft? I think we can.
  15. The club has to make 6 or 7 spots on the senior list, we have 5 now. What the club did through the 2000-2006 period is keep maybe players on our list for to long. Players that maybe one day will become consistant AFL players or I was good maybe my form will come back, they perform well at VFL level so we kepted them and negleted the development of young players. Buckley I like him but we need room to draft, Valenti was never going to be promoted I hope someone picks up both these players, but we have better players coming through.
  16. It is always great to watch footage from the Vic Metro team from 2008, Strauss to Watts, Scully to Blease, Strauss to Blease, Blease to Watts, Scully to Blease, Scully to Watts, we should hear these combitions for many years to come.
  17. The next 6mths are important for the development of players like Strauss and Maric. Staying fit through the preseason period is important for all players but more so for younger players. They get fitter and stronger, play some preseason games and get confidence that they can make it at AFL level. Lets hope for both Strauss and Maric that they can stay fit and healthy for 12 mths so this time next year we will have a better understanding of there ability.
  18. Sylvia needs to have a big year, we have so many players that will improve but one that will stand out is Nathan Jones, he gets his hands on the footy at stoppages, a little more strength to stand in tackles and off load I can see him be a dominate clearance player.
  19. I have come to the conclusion Rhino, you have no idea about football. We made sure we didn't win more than four games, our list is a lot more advanced than you think.
  20. If it wasn't for some coaching moves and a fade out the bottom team pushed St Kilda for three quarters, if Luke Ball was at that game he would think this club is on the way up, I disagree with many people we aren't as far away as most people think, I can see us playing finals in 2011. We made some decissions this year that ensured the club would get the best two kids in this years draft, we are a lot better than what we showed for the last 10 weeks.
  21. If we get Ball, Valenti will not be at Melb next year.
  22. we will use picks 1,2,11,18,34 and PSD1 so two more players will be gone.
  23. Is he the best out off contract player available? At the moment and as far I as know yes How old? 25yo Is his body right? Looked OK to me in the grand final Will he add something to our club? Yes, leadership and ability Can we get him? going from the top team to the bottom will be tough, but if he stays with St Kilda will he play much next year If we can agree to terms with him and he is willing to play for us sign him up. We have been lucky with Jurrah and Martin over the past two years, this guy isn't an unknown he is a best and Fairest winner still has 5-7 years left a pick two in a super drafted get him. What a draft period it would be Scully, Trengove,, KPP, KPP, KPP and Ball in the PSS three high quality midfielders and with pick 11, 18, 34 three keys that hopefully a couple will be good.
  24. Bruce going onto the VL does free up a spot, his spot on the list, he takes Robbo's spot on VL and then we have a spot available on our senior list.
  25. I get the feeling that the only thing we will be trying to do is off load a couple of players and hope we can upgrade our two picks inside the top 30.
