All of this is supposition ,started by a "media" (not real football journalist). You have to remember that footballers are not rocket scientists (O Mac exception), they just happen to come from a variety of backgrounds AND are good (for their age) at football. They are picked up at 18 (just out of school), treated like God and ASSUMED they have allround intelligence etc. Next thing they are being paid ENORMOUS amounts (for their age) and many have trouble adjusting . Athlete's personal support is a major issue not just while they are playing, but when the lights flicker. Then when things do not work out (even in the midterm) we all bail on them like as if they deliberately set out to be have these hiccups. It does not matter what background ,(Bulldogs example). I feel MFC provide that environment and should be proud of the way Clarrie (in this case) has made his way back. MFC had a prime example in Jurrah who was probably the best natural footballer I have seen, but just could not live in that world (He refused to travel on a train for some reason). (Read the book). I do not know the bloke or the circumstances, but I would extremely be VERY surprised if this was not a really genuine situation. I know that he has been undervalued by Demonland people (not all !!) but there has not been many better clubmen in the Club's history than Nibbler. He deserves to go with our (sad) blessing but also with our thanks. Life is more important than footy !!

Agree with NEARLY all your opinion except for LYNCH , because we need a longer term Key Forward or Ruckman to elongate Gawn's career (Actually,he (Gawn) could be the "Lynch pin" in our forward line and mentor the new bloke and provide support in the ruck (ala Hawkins). Remember Geelong have survived without a standout ruckman. We also have terrific potential development in Windsor ,McVee,RIvers, Kozzie, Chandler and Turner is showing versatility, Petty is confident and back. Let JVR be the Jonathon Brown of the 2020's (not huge possessions,high impact). Clarry & Trac will be back !! We also need a tall developing defender account May, Tmac & Lever are "aging" , but need management.

I remember some time back that posters were in the "ANB is a dud" camp. To me Chandler is that sort of player,realistically he is only playing his 2nd full year, so there is a lot of upside. He is our leading tackler in the FWD line , so has closing speed ( ANB type !!)

Lynch is all bunged up. Why spend stupendous money on him. Unfortunately we are seeing the end of BBB's on field influenceing.
