  1. That's great news 45. Fingers are crossed! yeah, great work Clint/Bub/Demon4Life. I really hope it comes to fruition. Finally got a reply yesterday from my e-mail the other week. Same reply as what was posted earlier on this thread. A bit of Spin, but happy to get a reply.
  2. Hird must be really struggling to write about current football.....whilst frankly I've had enough of Sheedy's stories, I would of thought Hird could of written something relevant to today or even relate it to the likes of the Bulldogs or Saints who lost on the weekend and what the players may be feeling. But he didn't. edit: Link - http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...0-19742,00.html
  3. I don't have any figures on MCC members that are full MFC members, you may want to try a search in relation to this. I'm sure there are MCC members that aren't prepared to pay, which is very unfortunate IMO. I'm sure Jim is working feverishly to weed out this issue and bridge the relationship between the two parties as evidenced by the recent offer sent out to all MCC members for MFC memberships with their renewal forms for the MCC.
  4. Exactly. A better choice of words would of made everyone understand his point of view.
  5. At least 3 years for the Top 8.
  6. Isn't it time someone else took the reins? With the economic slowdown in motion, whilst Vlad says the game has never been better - (he says himself the AFL are obsessed with statistics) - I believe with the introduction of the Gold Coast team, the competition is reaching a critical stage. No objection to the Gold Coast team introduction, it's the following year with the West Sydney team that has and will create concern.
  7. Enjoy it while it lasts.....we'll bounce back.
  8. Didn't know I was being a pain in the ass. My issue is with your initial post. I know you were referring to mcc members. I suggest you use a better choice of words. Such as what is highlighted in your latter post in italic. I don't mean to be rude but it is the attitude of some that suggest that mcc members "in general" don't support the mfc - that irks me (just so you know). Which is absolute crap!
  9. I understand there are threads on it. You were referring that "you" or the MCC in this case (I believe that is whom you are referring to -unless you meant 45), don't support the club financially. That statement is rubbish. Based on what you 'heard.' by hearsay. We are all aware of reports that there needs to be a greater conversion rate of just Mcc members who support Melbourne into mfc members. My point is there are already a fair % that do support the Mfc financially.
  10. Yes, the latter.
  11. After cracking into Geelong's best 22, I would imagine he will decide to stay at Geelong as they have stated they want him. Even though he may look at other offers.
  12. Revisiting the Brad Green thread here. Looking for a club that feels they are close to a premiership. Although when we look at Geelong and maybe Hawthorn, we often think no-one will come close in the next 2-3 years. I heard Dean Laidley speak post Elimination Final loss to Sydney. They are in the business of winning a Premiership. He feels their window is not far away. I also believe that Jess Sinclair will perhaps finish up at the kangaroos, perhaps Nathan Thompson. I'm thinking they might be in the mix for someone like a Brad Green. They finished 8th. So they have Pick 9 and 26. MOCK TRADE: - A/ Brad Green and pick 35 for pick 26? Leaving 1,17,19,26 ........ instead of 1,17,19,35. OR/ B/ Brad Green and pick 19 for Pick 9? Leaving 1,9,17,35. I would think Brad Green at 28yo would more likely result in Option A. But option B would be welcome.
  13. Ridiculous isn't it.
  14. I agree. But maybe because its condensed to one particular area, the Mcc. The rest of the ground, supporters are spread out. I'm a MCC member and MFC Full member & Social Member and I know quite a few Mcc members who financially support the Mfc. Where do you hear that claim Deanox? Media? MFC?
  15. Yes it was in-depth. My point is I don't think they can handle the teams which was your first point, which you in no doubt stated. Which I alluded to in my previous two posts. Totally relevant points I might add. All the more reason that throws caution to the wind in Vlad fast tracking a second Sydney team.
  16. Of course he can. The addition of quality teammates around him on the field will add to his game.
  17. I don't think so.
  18. Currently Melbourne's best player. Obvious leader. Had he not suffered an ankle injury he would have won his first Best & Fairest for the club given the form he was in.
  19. Natural ability goes along way. Footy smarts can be improved. And you can be taught. It's up to the player to implement it into his game and improve. Brad Miller is a prime example with his improvement this year in some of his decision making with the ball.
  20. I understand 45. My point is regardless of the population in Sydney, it is getting them to the events that is their problem. Melbourne is football and event mad. Melburnians are an outgoing lot, we'll turn up anywhere, regardless of poor publicity. Sydneyites struggle to attend, they're a weird bunch. They're not as outgoing, and they're not sport mad. History repeats itself in many ways.
  21. Green and pick 35 may get anywhere from 15-25... Which would leave 1, 17, 19 untouched. With fair depth in the draft this would be considered reasonable or even more likely. I'm not so sure a club would be willing to give up a top 10 draft pick for Brad Green.
  22. Oh..fair enough then.
  23. I have a few Richmond mates that would disagree with you on this. They'll say the game past him on debut. But I won't debate it. Big Benny. Reminds me alot of "I am Robot". Cheers Benny. Good luck with Clinton Casey!
  24. A.Jackovich went alright in his debut year.
  25. Correct, well said. ($33,200 - draftee).
