  1. Well, fair dinkum? Of course it was a joke 45, either way you look at it it's a slur on Brock.
  2. Once agian, he hasn't "bought" into anything Rusty. That is your opinion. He did it out of his heart for Debt Demolition. Perhaps he felt he "owed" the club, but we will never know. I'm pleased that you voted for Brad Miller who has also shown this season his leadership in spurts. I think both of those guys should represent Melbourne for what I call Melbourne's "New Dawn" or "New era" of youth in 2009 on the back of our new recruits and new look team. But please, saying that "Brock" has bought or is buying his way into the role is in itself an absolute joke. NB. He has already put the end of season indiscretions behind him and has already paid the penalty. It's in the past. Look to the future now.
  3. Hmm. Hopefully there is an announcement soon later this week. Now the GF is out of the way, and the focus shifts to trade week and other clubs news. Someone may correct me on this, but didn't the footy department use portables at the Junction in readiness for the move to Casey? Perhaps they will continue using those portables at casey Fields whilst the building and extension moves towards completion.
  4. Adelaide and Geelong did well.............. <_< Richmond and the Dees got shafted.
  5. Too old O'Keefe, for the Melbfc path of youth apparently. Terrific footballer and leader on and off the field. Would come at a cost. Interesting, I wonder if he would fall through to the PSD... <_< The ever endless pit of money........ Also to discuss the non-use of capital letters.
  6. If Wheatley can produce the same form over the next 3-4 years he will go onto play over 200 games for the Melbfc. That would be a terrific career over a tumultuous period for the club. Well done Wheats on your efforts this season. PS.> Hard to believe that he has chalked up nine seasons with the club. Quiet achiever really, in terms of longevity.
  7. He may of been on the Mfc radar, but he's fallen off and stopped bleeping....he's gone "stealth" He's shown up on Essendon's Radar though. Here is a radio transcript picked up from the Essendonfc control tower.... "Sir, we have a bogey, dead ahead,...........it's Adam Thomson....." PS. Is that creative enough for you?
  8. Draft, draft, draft... well, maybe there is room for 1 trade. But I believe a trade should be done only if it involves obtaining a top 25 pick. This draft runs deep, - deeper than previous national drafts. We must keep 1,17 and 19 IMO. The recruiter at Geelong believes all clubs will hold onto their first round picks, and that you may see more player for player trades during trade week. Because of the the 3 year concessions coming up with GC17 and WS18.
  9. Ok, so you've identified your blunder Hardcore. When attending the G, will they count you as two? edit: two heads are better than one... :D
  10. You're absolutely right. Good Post. I'd rather use our picks to draft young players at present rather than attract used players to the club with an expiry date. Once we put some "young quality" in, and start to develop then we will start looking more attractive to those on the "move".
  11. Reading this sentence.......just about confirms you are Collingwood.
  12. Especially when he's not manned up by the opposition defenders who were ordinary. How did he go in the championships when he had quality players on him? Watts is the one. End of Story, get used to it.
  13. It is true, because Hawthorn have acknowledged it. Richmond had the first pick. Hawthorn couldn't get him. So they got the next best. Simple. It's only in hindsight that Franklin is now the superstar. No -one saw how Franklin would become what he is now - back then.
  14. Good stuff!!
  15. Yes. Maybe after 2002, Danners was looking after "No.1" and not the best interests of the club, by topping up. But this is all in hindsight brock64. Did we all see this at halfway through the 2004 season? Halfway throught the 2005 season? 2006 season? Not really. It was never evident until after 2006.
  16. OUT: Williams? In: VINEY It could see us with momentum and crack the 30,000 barrier for members in 2009.

    DRAFT 2008

I'm of the same opinion, dee-luded. Would be happy with Tom Lynch. edit: like the look of Shoenmaker too as a KPP option. I like these selections!!
  18. Have to be crazy to give up pick 19 for either of them IMO.
  19. Surely the red strip with the blue mfc monogram is our next clash strip.
  20. How good was it to see that figure go up....great to see. The first time over 100K since 1986. It felt over when Neita hit the post with the first shot at goal.
  21. Just completed the survey. Commented on the preference for the clash strip.
  22. Rusty...you are kidding aren't you? Maturity of a 13yo? What - do you know him personally? "Bought his way there">......that is crap. He shows more leadership than alot of them put together on and off the field.
  23. ....<<<<<<waiting to see him in the red & blue. Look forward to seeing him progress next year hopefully.
