  1. Let's not forget Blease & Grimes. I can see alot of work going into the backline, which is important. The forward line apart from Watts, Maric, Aussie still needs a couple of guns in order to get where we all want them to go. Green will be approaching the end of his tether in 3-4 years, just when things will be heating up. Although I must say, he's body might hold him up for another couple after that, all being well. The midfield still needs to be tweaked, the introduction of Blease - I can't wait - will be like the first beer after walking into a pub...mouth watering. But we need more 'quality midfielders'....to take us high. Just look at Carlton...(aarrghhh!) Yep. NFI.
  2. What about Bail for this week, any chance?
  3. It all starts with our midfield. Our midfield lacks cohesion and quality through various factors including bouts of injuries (ie Moloney & McLean last year). We had Bruce and Green in there but they're now playing various other roles. The new breed include Jones, Morton, McLean, Moloney, still there is McDonald and occassionally the likes of Bartram and Dunn play a role or two. The ruckmen, well, that has been discussed in full over the past week in other thread(s) - Spencer, Johnson, Meesen, Jamar. In a nutshell it lacks quality. Maybe with Spencer we have hope. To be honest, we have to be 'patient'. There is that word again, I know, it stinks, but it's true. Those listed above in my first paragraph may only make up 25% at most of our midfield in 3 years time. Drafting the likes of Blease, Strauss, Bail, Bennell to a certain extent, perhaps Grimes will go someway to change the landscape of our midfield, I believe. By the end of this year we will have a clearer picture of what is on the horizon. Still, more quality midfielders (pace and foot skills) and a ruckman will be on the shopping list later this year. Nothing I believe has changed in that regard come October. Be patient. Stick fat. The wheel will turn, eventually..
  4. Open your eyes next time and peer through from the 'Corn Fields'. You might see what you are looking for. HT Note: Deletions occur in the Corn Fields too, Prince Charles.
  5. He was probably told he wasn't required for the "Back Page" on Fox Sports this week, before the game. That, or his 4 x Four'n Twenty Pies were luke warm for lunch.
  6. Picks 4, 26 and 44 if you finish 16th on the ladder in 2010. thanks dee-luded for that in-depth post.
  7. I hope you're not talking down "goldilocks"........ <_<
  8. Earmarked = 12 x 17yo I believe.
  9. Not expecting him to say sorry anytime soon...
  10. Correct. They're there to stir rumours, grudges and dig up garbage.
  11. You definitely make a good argument for Zomer. It could well see Zomer being promoted for Garland on the LTI.
  12. Yes. Good balanced post Nudge. SOmetimes you've just got to sit back and look at the bigger picture now and again. See the reality. Thanks for providing that view.
  13. The facts are, we are a young and inexperienced side. We all know it. Now, we'd rather not here it anymore from BAiley & Co. It's definitely wearing thin and thanks to Blight, the media will be on Bailey's back from now on. I get that feeling too. I just hope our injuries don't get worse. And I hope Jaded gets to keep updating her Jared Rivers tracker for games played....
  14. Much similar to my thoughts after the game against the Kangaroos. Then it was the likes of Morton, Bruce & Co. Why? It can't be fatigue because Bailey reckons they're fit. Saying they're 'just young players' is a cop out from now on, the culprits are more often the more experienced ones, they should no better. Good sides like the Geelong's, Hawthorns, Western Bulldogs and even Carlton's midfield now run and carry until a pin point pass is on. We don't have the midfield, there is a lack of talk and support surrounding the ball carrier. So they bomb it long. - IF IN DOUBT THEY GIVE IT A CLOUT! To an opposition defence ready to rebound. What on earth was McLean thinking from 45-50m, running into an open goal. He kicked it straight to a collingwood player at the top of the goal square. He seemed to hedge his bets and have $2 each way. There were 2 options. EIther a pin point pass to one of 3 Melbourne players on a lead. Or a shot at goal from 50m. He elected neither. It was a brain fade of massive proportions, much like Davey's kick in, where he didn't tap the ball with his boot before playing on, resulting in a bounce. Less than a minute or so remaining before 3/4 time. Again, like last week, Miller lining up for goal 45m on a 45 degree angle. When our team needed a goal from one of more experienced leaders going into 3/4 time....missed. It was times like this instance where Neita used to stand up and kick the important goal. Arrghh!
  15. What about our BOG, Davey!!!!! Forgetting to give himself a small kick, and running out of the goal square after the umpire told to play on. DIABOLICAL!!!
  16. McLean wasn't ordinary last season to be honest. I think you are a little unfair on him, despite our results last year. Agree with PJ, he was badly touched up by Fraser today. Taught one hell of a lesson. I thought PJ was the most overrated on this site?
  17. Unbelievable, really. Unfortunately, it will be something that the likes of his son Zac, 14, will never forget - as well as those who witnessed it. Whilst terrible news, it was somewhat pleasing to read that these thugs copped abuse from other Pies and Demons fans as they were being arrested. I wish Mr.Jones a speedy recovery. Just the tonic the Dees need for the Queens Birthday clash. Only 9 weeks away.
  18. 6 - Davey 5 - Jones 4 - Rivers 3 - Warnock 2 - Green 1 - Frawley
  19. Thanks Redleg, I'm pumped just reading that.
  20. Pretty sure something like that was in his post too. Luckily I read the whole thread not long after it was "Bumped". Caught with his fingers in the cookie jar. From what I gather it's definitely not the first time either.
  21. Heard it mentioned on SEN tonight that Pendlebury didn't train today due to general soreness. Anyone know anything more?
  22. You're not wrong. With an avatar like that, you should be posting more...
  23. Can you do that?..
