Amazing. Yet Demetriou has guaranteed 10 teams in Melbourne for the time being which included assistance. Does anyone remember this? Jackson should be more concerned with Port Adelaide.

Why would they respond to this?

The volume of the team's anthems at the MCG

Yes. Tony Schibecci tells us the score. Mind you at three quarter time he got the margin wrong after telling us the scores. C'mon Schibec-star, lift your game. -
Bartram - Stuck to tasks Bate - just too slow Bennell - backs himself in Bruce - can not kick Davey - 31p's & 87% efficiency Dunn - not quite right Frawley - strength and confident Johnson - needs to improve Jones - improves with assistance Maric - seven critical errors McDonald - gives 100% effort Martin - forward option beckons McLean - lacks pure class Meesen - his best game Miller - kick goals please! Moloney - good yet quiet Morton - class shone through Petterd - forward or back? Rivers - could do better Robertson - beat his man Sylvia - 8 crunching tackles Warnock - hard working defender

Does Footy Forecaster take into account injuries and list management??

Noticed after the half time siren, Newton giving the players a talk before heading off the ground.....anyone else?

OBSERVATION: You describe that instance well. Maybe. But not until the last 'poop-teenth' of a second. The Geelong opponent was just about all over him as he took the bounce. He ambled out of defence at best. He did seem to lack some awareness in that instance. Just an observation, Jaded. Fwiw, there is a large percentage who definitely lack awareness at times within the team. So too other clubs. It's the 'A' grade midfielders such as Ablett, Judd, Cooney, Griffen, Bartel who are rather good in this area.

Yes I agree. Although my point was - just to clarify - Rivers critical error was that kick. It's what was listed in the 'Critical Error' column in the Age stats. I think this is errors that are considered 'direct'. As you quite rightly pointed out, leaving a man unmarked (ie 5m off opponent) can create the loose man for the opposition. This leads to goals against - and might be considered 'indirect', they might have to have another column for this stat. I wondered at times when Varcoe was loose, who was on him....thanks for the tip. I'll be looking to the replay this week too.

Good point. Martin went forward yesterday. How do you think Martin would look up forward?

In order to advance 45h, sometimes you gotta take a few hits along the way...

I certainly agree. But I will be alot prouder when they collectively produce it whilst collecting 4 points each week. They've all had they're moments, they've just got to stop the leaking of goals - of course you can't always attribute that to the backline. ie. Midfield and shocking turnovers are killing the backline and it just undoes all their good work. Kicking out, Rivers made a terrible blunder (critical error) - although that was the one error he had for the day.

Bingo. That's what I said after the U18 Champs last year. Even has the golden boy looks to match. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, hey...

Is that the run & carry style, the handball-link-handball style or the centre corridor game? You read familiar. Hmm.

Me too. He's play to the audience behind the fence after it sailed through, was confirmation for me that he went for it. His agility and balance is something else.

Posts 1 & 2 are my highlights too. Good posts.

You would think so. And yet they were part of a consortium that forked out $780 million for the coverage.

I wish Robbo well in his comeback for injury. He presented well, and boy, doesn't it make a difference to the side. However, I'm not a fan of him carrying on after a goal when the side is 30+ points down. The 400th goal, I allow him some slack because it would have been emotional with his friends & family and the long way back from a serious injury (lots of rehabilitation required). But the goals there after especially the one into an open goal, whilst 6 goals down at least, c'mon robbo. That's selfish. I'd rather the goal be kicked and run back to a few teammates to rev them up, or better still a few pats on his teammates backsides and into position. Celebrate if it's a freakish goal, or a match winner next time. Not when your side is looking down the barrel.

Agree. West Coast will be stinging from the loss to the Shockers. For those thinking about West Coast as a chance for the spoon.....look at North.

I reckon I've replayed that goal 53 times and ....still counting...I don't think he was trying to centre it. The way it left the boot, it looked to me to be a left foot banana kick - on the run, hence the curl of the ball through the goal posts from right to left.. At first glance I thought it was a drop punt that he was trying to centre. He is a freak, Freak. Loved what he did in the first quarter - 1st goal. The other players were all in slow motion.

I watched Casey and was once again impressed with Watts. I know he is on a program and won't come in until the Essendon game after the split round. But personally, I cannot wait to see him in the No.4 Red&Blue. Agree with Aussie and Bell. Aussie and King were at each other which was good to see. I think another week for him at Casey. Bell didn't do a hell of a lot and may need another couple before considered. Was impressed with McNamara, but who do you drop for him when he's down back? Wheels and Cheney would be considered, perhaps Newton, but I'd let him play with Watts at Casey for a bit. Whilst Robbo is holding his spot in the Seniors. Those in the side that could find themselves at Casey next week, probably Dunn, Bate and maybe Bennell. All in all, two changes.

6 - Davey 5 - Morton 4 - Moloney 3 - Frawley 2 - Robertson 1 - Junior McLean, Warnock & Meesen missed.

Well said. Next story will be "Player A picks a winner" with a photo of a player picking his nose. With quotes from health experts and comments from Adrian Anderson wanting to impose a $5,000 fine. What rubbish.

He may have been out of touch on Sunday against Geelong. I beg to differ on 'every game' this year. Or has he? ^ Agree.

Left foot. What a goal. This kid is a freak.

I hope you're not suggesting that Bate is a good mark? Have you ever seen him take a one-grab mark in a contested pack?
