How many do you want me to name before I get to Sylvia in the 'frustration stakes'. The list seems endless to me. Your last sentence holds more relevance. I agree. He showed alot of determination and disappointment when he missed his set shot in the last quarter against West Coast. His disposals in the last was almost perfect, one which set up Maric on the left was exquisite. His marking (has good hands, vice-like one grab) in contested situations which the side cries out for, is very good. Unlike Bate's powder-puff hand two, three grabs then spill. I also recognise he will never be an 'A' grade midfielder, but he has what many don't. The flexibility of playing a midfield role as well as one who can push forward and set up or finish up forward. He can also be the outlet target in defence and has the ability to contest in the air. I had to laugh when he lined up in the last quarter. Fox put up his stats, "2 Hit Outs, 100% to advantage"
  2. Is it true that he's contracted next year?
  3. Man U 2 Wigan 1. That's just about all she wrote....EPL Title
  4. Interesting stats TheOx05. If you could guarantee Bailey WILL deliver premiership number 13 to Melbournefc, I'm SOLD. TBH I think he is doing quite well, despite our 1-6 (W/L) start and his 4-25 record suggests. There were many good signs in the West Coast game at Subiaco. We might well have won that game had Rivers and Frawley not got injured. Players like Maric, Bennell and Grimes are a reminder of what Melbournefc supporters can look forward to. Watts, Blease, Strauss and even Bail and Jurrah just add to the excitement. Talk of McNamara....it just gets more exciting to see what they will offer at AFL level and when they mature. Then there is this years draft inclusions.....the excitement is upon us.

    Dunn

Look at the two number 14 picks we've had. Dunn and Frawley. One player shows grunt, determination, a real hunger for the ball, loves body on body contact, doesn't mind giving a bit of lip service to his opponent. Can take contested marks, breaks lines with speed and kick pretty well with penetration. He's also played exceptionally well all season to date. A worthy first round pick. The other player is Lynden Dunn who still needs to find his niche in the side and contribute significantly before the seasons end.
  6. Agree. But having said that, they are just as likely to go to AAMI and beat Port this week for some unknown reason. Don't ask me why, please. My answer would simply be: Because they are Richmond. And Port is Port.

Indeed. Also noticed posters are not as hard on him in the delistings thread, as they were a few weeks back. But wait, that could all change......."one week at a time" is often used in so many ways in football. Colin Sylvia knockers are no exception to this cliche'. Hence his inconsistency.
  8. Kernahan? Hall? Neitz?
  9. There it is again. Roost It, it could well be Picks 1 and 3.
  10. Personally, I think the "list management committee" would convene around the split round to make their initial decisions. Players on the fringe or as I like to say it, "on thin ice" or "hanging by a thread", will want to impress by then and if they're in doubt, they will want to impress somehow in the several rounds after the split round, otherwise that will be it for them. Players that are young such as McNamara are safe for next year IMO. Whilst the melbfc footy dep't might already have their own thoughts on players, I don't think concrete decisions have been made just yet.
  11. Don't be surprised if four come back this week, as MM has been cagey. When the filth have Davis, Didak, Anthony out - they will struggle and they did. Mind you 15 other sides wouldn't have beaten StKilda last Monday, even the current Geelong line up. They will be their old selves, when they return. I hope their supporters are happy with their team hovering around 6th-10th. Because that's where I see them. Agree.
  12. By all means be ruthless Roost It, but there's no need to cut the hand off that feeds you at present. IMO he is required for next season, if he continues on from the last couple of weeks. At the moment I put doubt on Whelan for next year. Many believe Junior will retire at season's end. Other than those two for me, it's hard to gauge until you see who is contracted, who is out of contract and the fact we're only 1/3rd of the way through the home & away season. PJ or Jamar could find one of themselves chopped. It's still early days.

    McNamara

I was one, until I read yours, cheers. If McNamara can come in and impress, we'll have good depth for down back, if that's his intended path: - Whelan, Wheatley, Buckley, Bell, Martin, Warnock, Garland, Martin, Cheney, McNamara, Rivers, Bennell, Frawley,...am I forgetting anyone. Of course the likes of Bartram, MacDonald, Bruce, Green, Dunn, Sylvia have filtered through the back half at some stage too. 13 into 6 don't go. But I like this combo at the moment: - BACKS: - Rivers Warnock Bennell H-BACKS: - Frawley Garland Martin
  14. Mark Robinson reveals..... Here:- It was reported at the time, the AFL was given access to share options. Talking money, it also has to be remembered that Thomas has been paid out despite assurances the decision was solely a "financial" one. It can only be a financial decision if SEN believed getting the AFL rights would help it financially, and to do that they had to sack Thomas.
  15. Totally disagree with simon buckley. He has something to offer in my opinion at this point in time.
  16. Is Chip Captain material?
  17. Hard to believe, we might need a 'Draft and Trading' Forum, already.
  18. Well strike me down with a feather Freak.....you're right on this one.
  19. I understand that Nasher. I've read Condemned and Pantaloon's posts. I understand members and supporters frustrations because of paid/reserved seating. Hell, I'm one of them. I'm p####d off too - if it happens. Satan asked, "Will we be financially compensated for the shift?" I replied, "Demetriou mentioned on "On the Couch" last night, that clubs will be compensated if a move did take place. Still a long way to go before Round 14 comes around. Circumstances may change." ?
  20. Yes, good bloke. Saw him in Albury in a pub about 6-7 years ago, had a beer and certainly spoke of that Preliminary Final when he played very well. against the West Coast would be even sweeter. Have noticed this also. Seems to relish a bit of physical jostling and stoush whilst off the ball. Little bit of intimidation is good for confidence and keeps the opposition not only honest, but tells them they're in for one hell of a game. Bit like a chip off the old block. Or in this case, uncle.
  21. Umm...QueenC is joking with Jaded....
  22. Perhaps we could use our list management devices this year, which might go a fair way to securing 6 or 7 nominations in 2010 for the NAB Rising Star.
  23. The white might be better against say Carlton or Essendon, away.
  24. Demetriou mentioned on "On the Couch" last night, that clubs will be compensated if a move did take place. Still a long way to go before Round 14 comes around. Circumstances may change. Read above.
