  1. I'm not a fan of Newton's but his first quarter was outstanding. Plain and simple. He marked, kicked goals, tackled to set up a goal, passed off to set up a goal. He was the reason we were in front. His move to the ruck was a poor decision. If Martin can't ruck for 30 minutes I'll stand on my head for an hour.
  2. When Newton was moved the tide was still firmly our way. It was a poor move. Martin was doing ok with some great second efforts. it was poor coaching. He should have held fire for 6 -10 more minutes and given newton another opportunity to score. At that stage he was killing it in the forward half. Easily his best quarter for the club. had Watts played that well we'd be licking our lips. Need to play Gawn and Martin next week.
  3. Boys the threads get locked because they've degenerated into people slagging each other off or our players off. Get over it or run your own site.
  4. in 4 more weeks....maybe
  5. Both for mine, then some cross country at Stirling. Love the winter
  6. OUT: Dunn, Garland, Bail, Jetta, Bennell IN: Rivers, Macdonald, Bate, Evans, Strauss
  7. I had several arguments on here about Green and his "softness". Sure he might take the odd courageous mark. But real toughness is about finding something when all seems lost, about inspiring your teammates, about running further and harder than your opponent every week, about doing the little things that make all the difference. Green does none of this and worse still, he's the captain. Played AA as a lead up forward, couple of sprints, couple of marks, couple of goals, big deal. He's the ultimate front runner and well worthy of the tag SOFT. You can throw Davey in that boat as well. Don't get me started on Morton, Bennell, Wonaeamirri, Jetta. These guys are scared of their shadows. Time for Malthouse and some assistants worthy of AFL.
  8. Good stats. Our problem being that we need to keep improving the players we have. Is that happening at the moment? I'm not sure. We desperately need to sign Scully. We need Blease to start getting games. We need to have a look at Cook, Evans, Nicholson, Howe, Macdonald, Strauss, Gawn and see if we have the makings of a great team. 4 to 5 years away. Patience is required.
  9. Scully's re-signing is the club's most important issue. Without him we're in strife.
  10. Worse than the WC game.
  11. You never are.
  12. I'm expecting a hard fought win from the boys. It'll be one of the sweetest for the year.
  13. He's going to help with the trade period.
  14. Trengove, Scully, Jordie, for Dunn, Maric and Newton
  15. You're a downer.
  16. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Cook playing in the backline at this stage of his development. Fevola will only play 1 year for casey minus matches missed for injury.(No more than 16 games) Then Cook can have full forward having learnt some important defensive skill's. I've got a feeling we may see Cook in the seniors at some stage during 2011, along with Howe, Evans, Nicholson and Blease. Exciting times. We're 4 -5 years away from our best but I reckon it'll be pretty good.
  17. Who comes in for Trengove?
  18. Bate stiff. Imagine being dropped for Newton. I think he just bottomed out!
  19. Every player has to go when it's there turn. Both bennell and morton need to learn this ASAP if they are to be part of our future.
  20. Play Gawn and Martin. History favours the brave. It also looks unkindly on the foolish. Maybe flip a coin.
  21. The best thing we can do is win the next 3 games regardless, that's what good clubs would do and it's time we did it.
  22. He was at the footy on Sunday.
  23. It's called being made an example of. The next gut will get 3 weeks and then it'll be a one week suspension. The MRP doesn't work
  24. I guess I deserve 3 weeks for that!
  25. That was me. When I typed it I thought, shite, I should delete this but it was to late, the universe had heard me and the rest is history.
