  1. He reads the play well, is tough but turns it over by hand and foot. If he's untouchable then we've got problems. I'm a fan but if the club thinks his body isn't upto it and a club offered pick 8 we'd be crazy not to consider it. In fact I'd guarantee they would consider it. Would they do the deal, not sure but they'd consider it without question
  2. As much as I want Malthouse or Roos to coach us next year neither of them would have much chance with the players available, aspcially with the disappearance of Davey and Green.
  3. I'm a fan but if a club offered a top ten pick you'd have to consider for a guy who struggles to get on the field.
  4. I seriously think I could outmark newton. I have never seen a more inept player at making position as the ball comes to him in a one on one contest. It's embarrassing and the number 29 should be shelved indefinately after this year.
  5. DELIST: Newton, Warnock, Spencer, MacDonald TRADE: Bate, Dunn, Jones LISTEN TO OFFERS: Grimes, Morton, Davey, Green Non Renewal of Contract: Bailey
  6. You can't handle the truth. Our culture is our weakest element both on and off the field. Do you think a club with a strong culture would have one of their most senior and well paid players squib a relatively soft contest during such a crucial game. Worse still he'll probably play next week. Out of Moloney and Davey I know who I'd cut from the leadership group. You can hark on all you like but the fact remains we have a poor culture and it hampers us all the time.
  7. I'd say all 3, before waking in a warm sweat.
  8. Bailey would know he is gone. It's going to be impossible for him to stay until the end of the year. The club would be speaking to people right now. What they have to do is try and handle the situation with some dignity. OUT: Bailey, Connolly, Royal, Williams and a few others IN Roos and co. needs to happen in about 10 weeks time. We'll finish close to bottom this year, again.
  9. Not until the likes of Trengove, Scully, Grimes, Frawley and Watts are leading this club will we have any chance of success. The time to change is at the end of this year. Offer Davey up for trade, Retire/move on Newton, Macdonald, Warnock, Bate, McNamara, Dunn and anyone else who isn't prepared to work hard or isn't good enough. Please don't continue to carry duds as we have always done. Refresh and trade to keep the list vibrant and prevent us from becoming stale.
  10. If the club is serious about development then in the coming weeks newton needs to make way for Cook Bate for Howe Davey for Blease Tapscott for Morton Macdonald for Tom Macdonald Warnock for anyone, maybe Nicholson, not like for like but Cook can play back as can Watts. Watts is the clubs most improved player by a mile, well done Jack.
  11. Positives: Evans, Watts, Gysberts, Mckenzie playing, Frawley most of the time, Maric and Jetta were pretty good, Martin, add Jamar, Scully, Trengove, Tapscott, Garland, you'd have the makings of a good team. Malthouse or Roos are paramount at this junction.
  12. Apparently the players lined up Morton at training and all ran through him. Davey's turn this week. When he failed to take a step back costing us a goal in the second quarter I almost cried.
  13. If your point is Ablett you are a goose. He had achieved everything he could at the Cats and was offered the pot of gold. He also had a serious falling out with the coach and if word is correct may well have stayed had he known Thompson would leave.
  14. Agreed. As I said in my post you need success to create success. All the players you mention bring that. Does the club have the resources to put into these guys to get that extra 5% out of them which takes them from preliminary finalists to Premiership players? At some stage the club is going to have to back itself and put the money in or we'll see what we've seen before, good sides but not good enough to go all the way. In the end it's going to come down to belief, do we have it? We haven't for nearly 50 years so I guess I'm sceptical. And would it make a difference if some guys in the past had won a Premiership. If the club was able to build on that success then yes, look at Hawthorn.
  15. What a great way to build team moral
  16. Sure but the change that is happening at the top can only be matched at the bottom (FD) if we pump some serious money into it. Problem being we don't have the money and we have a low membership base to draw from. Not only that we have got used to being laughed at as a club. I'm a very vocal positive supporter of this club. However blind faith won't get us there. We need sustained success to breed a new culture for this club. Problem being that to achieve this success you partly draw on past success, which just isn't there.
  17. I'm not languishing in regret I'm asking WW some questions to prove a point. The point being We don't believe...period.
  18. I'll ask you a couple of simple questions 1. Do you think this club has a winning culture. As in a sense of belief that we will end up on top? 2. Do you think over the last 47 years we have failed to develop players to their full potential? 3. Do you equate AA honours with team success?
  19. How is it a good rule to allow the defender to chop the forwards arms? I just don't understand some supporters.
  20. It's our own fault if either leave. Create the culture they will stay. By the way I think Morton's more likely to leave than Scully.
  21. Who wants a bet that Scully stays a Demon and we get a new coach next year.
  22. 1. MRP Point system 2. 4 interchange 3. The runner 4. Poor design of Etihad 5. Lack of a fair fixture 6. Final 8 (should be 6) 7. Clash jumpers 8. Lack of Spending Cap on FD 9. Syphoning of free to air coverage. 10.Monday night Football 11.Building Waverley 12.Loss of Reserves Foorball, although it appears on the way back
  23. I'm not in a hurry so take your time.
  24. 1. No way 2 could keep up 2. Forwards have adapted easily and it takes away the unfair holding out of a contest forwards did by putting their hands on the defenders back. 3. Keeps the game moving stops the opposition from getting completely set. 4. reduced knee injuries to ruckmen by 80% 5. except for this years interpretation it's been a fantastic rule 6. Just don't do it, a bit like a parking ticket. 7. should be 2 and a sub 8. minimises congestion at the bounce 9. agreed 10. reduces serious injury Except for points 7 and 9 I think they have all been good for the game.
