  1. If your seriously saying that you'd prefer Bode over Bell your delusional. Bell has had a poor season but he's young and has shown us in the past that he has great attack on the ball and can play. Bode, no offence intended, hasn't shown anything in his games. I'd be surprised if he's on our list next year. Give Bell achance I think you'll be happy with the result.
  2. Forget Robbo, he's finished. He'll play only because he's contracted and it will be mainly for Casey
  3. He turns it over less because he never gets the pill in the first place.
  4. I think you'll find the letter that is to be sent to every member and ex member after the DDDinner in August will get almost everyone chipping in. It's the only way forward. Imagine if as a club we can raise half or more of the money. It'll give us a big boost going into the preseason. I'm still thinking that the club know's someone who is going to wait until the end of August and then chip in a grand sum. It's just a huntch but there's been a few rumours flying. So let's all chip in and take this club forward.
  5. He's going to burn it up
  6. My hunch is that the coaches are saying to Bell and Newton, here's your chance don't stuff it up
  7. With all respect to Paul he's just not going to play in a premiership. It's that simple, he's not a premiership player by a long way. So we should trade him for whatever we can get and recruit a young hopeful with something to prove.
  8. One more from Juice, you betya, you betya, no. 7 and the Demons are home!!
  9. It's the last quarter and the doggies have just kicked a point. Bell chips the ball to Martin who plays on hanballs inboard to buckley who lays it off to Jones running through the centre chips it to Sylvia who swings onto his right and precedes to ram the ball down the leading Newton's throat. Set shot from right in front 45 out and he's split the middle for his sixth major of the afternoon and I think the Dees are home
  10. no, back in front implies we're storming home all over the top of the Doggies, Hang on, Miller marks on centre wing, chips the ball to Bate at half forward, quick hands to Buckley. Newton leads from the square, ball kicked wide, spills to the deck Newton follows up and gathers with one hand, shakes of Lake swings on a dime and drills it!!! Demons by 8 points with 12 minutes left
  11. Newton leads out, poor kick at his ankles, he bends down grabs it with both hands, turns one way, then the other, shrugs a tackle, steps around Lake onto his left, from outside 50 Neeewwwwwwwtooooon!, the Demons are back in front.
  12. Win less than 5 this year we get second round priority Then win less than 5 next year we get first round priority
  13. This will give us an idea of how much we can raise
  14. I see your point but I'm confident the coaches we have will guide are youngsters just fine. I'd scrap Robbo Carroll and Whelan from that list. From where I sit it's all about the future. Planning to take this group to the top. Let's do whatever it takes to get there.
  15. That's why you throw him in with Green and punt on a first rounder
  16. At 27 he's too old to keep, we should trade him whilst he's worth something Wheatley and Green to Sydney for first round pick Bell and White to Richmond for 3rd round pick
  17. Trade Him
  18. It does feel as though the club has finally admitted it's plight after years of trading on the "Melbourne" name. I'd say Jimmy has played the ball perfectly. By stating to the world that this once great club is no longer in the position it once was. By doing this and reaching out to the supporters he has made thge club feel inclusive , something I don't think it's ever really been. The divisions appear to be healing and the past glories are not being traded upon. "Our time is now" is probanly an appropriate slogan. Those who follow the club closely would already see the changes. The new homes coming on line, the young and I'd say exciting list, the raft of new coaches and administrators, and the sense that we are finally uniting as a club. I have no doubt that exciting times lie ahead. So I'll get out my chequebook and I'll back them in with an investment. Because it's not a donation it's an investment. An investment in the future of this great club. An investment in my enjoyment of the Red and the Blue. An investment for my kids and their kids enjoyment and ian nvestment that will one day bring us all that elusive 13th cup. Yes it's been a long time coming but how good will it be when a young kid runs down the wing and slots a goal to seel that cup. I for one have and will continue to wait, but somehow I don't think I'll be waiting too much longer. GO YOU MIGHTY DEMONS!!!
  19. Seems like he's taken the advice
  20. Newton's a real chance to play-am a bit surprised
  21. Stynes has said he hopes tp wipe the entire $5 million debt in one month
  22. Absolutely. C: Morton Mclean Grimes F: Warnock, Jones, ______
  23. Oh lordy lord it does too! Anyway, I've already forgiven him. I really hope they can strenghthen his core. If he can come to preseason fully fit and ready to train we're basically recruiting a gun backmen for 09. Let's hope the damage can heal, I guess I have my doubts but I'm really hoping he comes good. Adding his courage and talent to our backline as a 3rd or even 4th quality player would give us a bloody good back half. FB: Whelan Warnock Rivers HB: Buckley Martin Garland Also: CJohnson, Bell, Frawley Maybe even putting Garland up forward next to Watts FF: Wona Miller Maric HF: Sylvia Watts Bate Also: Newton (possibly wishful thinking), Davey Maybe even Zomer Is it starting to look good or am I so one eyed that I just love 'em all I'll need help deciding that but this looks pretty good
  24. If we want another first round draft pick he is the only player capable of getting us one, thus for mine we should trade him. Tough but fair in the circumstance
  25. He's not going to be captain, just part of the leadership group. Green won't be our captain as he will be traded at year's end.
