On this RR I totally agree, Davey is a finisher and will look a little lost playing in a team when no one is able to get it to him or provide him with the support he needs. He may not have the physical bulk but his ability to chase, tackle, harass set a new AFL standard for others to follow. Once we start being competitive we will see Aaron back to his best

She's one of the few intelligent football writers and because of this she attracts the ire of her less intelligent male peers. Hutchinson being an absolute prime example. He knows she holds more kudos as a journalist because whilst he's sniffing around the gutters of "celebrity footballers" she's writing articles that provoke thought and interest in the football world.

Did here a rumour a while back that OX may return next year. (Also heard we were inline for $20,000,000 if we became the Bombay Demons) So I have no idea if it's true
-
Not totally out of the question grasshopper
-
We've done this, it's Garland
-
I liked the look of him yesterday, looking forward to his disposal improving. He's got a slightly crazy look about him too and I reckon in a few years he send shivers down his opponents spine. With improved disposal, that pace and his strength we could well be onto a winner here.
-
Agree to some extent but he was off the rookie list. He seems to struggle with a midfield role and is probably more suited to the forward line at the moment. He needs to increase the size of his motor so he can run all day and not just in bursts. I wouldn't say he's at the crossroads, he's easily in our best 22 and will continue to improve

Wouldn't be dropping Warnock just yet, but I'd love to see play Garland up forward. OUT: Whelan(love him but he's probably not part of our future) IN: Frawley(hopefully big part of our future) Play Garland HF who leads up (So I agree with you there 100%) Miller at true CHF Newton at FF INT: PJohnson Bate, Wona crumbing, Sylvia as 4th marking option Can't imagine dropping Martin, I think he's looked the goods

I'm pretty sure they start picking at the 2009 draft, correct me if I'm wrong
-
He needs to retire alongside a long list of others
-
Ok, fair enough. But at best both these players may give us a handful of good games next year. I don't think White helps Jamar, who's playing better without White. Carroll will never be anything more than a good ordinary player, alongside a host of others such as Wheatley, PJohnson, Jamar, Warnock, Bruce(since his disposal imploded), Whelan(post injuries), Jones(Yes I know he tries and he does earn his spot but his speed and disposal??), CJohnson and there's more. Fact is we have too many of them and we need to replace them if we are to win a premiership. We must build for the future and I doubt all of these players are going to be around when we do.

Spent time on the bench and was leading for the ball, but I never said he works as hard as Miller
-
Not a chance. These changes would do nothing for the club in the long term. White's gone and Carroll has no future in AFL. Newton has to be played and Bell was ok yesterday. No reason to drop him. Can you offer any logical explanation why you would make these changes and how they would benefit the club

A tad unfair I suspect. 1. Ball came forward very poorly and not very often after the first quarter. In that quarter I thought he was lively and competitive. 2. Fair point. He seems to be trying but doesn't really appear able to contain his opponent. Again the delivery to him does make this stand out more. Had the ball been kicked to him he wouldn't have to worry about containing his opponent's run. 3. I think it is a strength of his. He wasn't as good today as last week at holding the grabs. As for his 4 years at MFC - Neitz, Robbo at his position stitched up. So that's an unfair comparison. Miller's had the same fate. Now they're gone let's give him at least a year to show us some form. Lazy - He does seem to need to learn to work harder. The first quarter was good. After that 22 players went to sh@t
-
And in 3-4 years I hope to be competing for a premiership. Positions 5-9 are no longer good enough
-
Any more to report on Newton, I haven't seen the game I need details
-
Who do you reckon?
-
Till the end of 2010, he'll take time to bulk up and find his feet, but yes he'll be good, very good I expect
-
Bate and others do seem to play like that I agree but it's because they're youing. They're still learning how to play well week in week out. Our skills will improve over time. DB had them with a ball all through preseason, so I doubt that will change this year. With a bit of age comes experience, strength and confidence. Rushed disposals are replaced with cooler heads and better disposals. Confidence grows and we'll look much much better. By the end of next year we'll see some good footy but we'll still being seeing some poor footy. It takes time.

Relax, take a chill pill. Yes we were rubbish today, but we're young and we're going to have our bad days, even good sides have them (Geelong V Collingwood) With the delistings at the end of the year we'll be the youngest side in the league. We've got a reasonable list, good draft picks coming and a commited board and good coaches. Really, we're bottoming out and you'd better get used to days like today because there's more coming. But at the end is a light and in it are players like Martin, Grimes, Morton, Mclean, Miller, Bate, Buckley and others who are young and are going to be joined by other young guys at the end of the year. And in 3-4 years time we'll be competing again. Looking at those names I reckon everything's ok. So sit back, hand over some money and enjoy the ride. But be prepared for some poor days at the office!

He's no good
-
Does he or has he. Has he ever played a really good strong game for this club. Your expectations are too high. Allow the coaches to work with him. If he's still no good in a year or so's time then it'll be time to go. His weak effort mirrors one from last week and is a big worry

Melbourne off the bottom by 10pm tonight?
Roost It replied to Hulett Packard III's topic in Melbourne Demons
Warnock wants to return to Melbourne so WC aren't going to pick him. I'd say we'll trade him for a 3rd round pick and then grab Primsall in the PSD -
Right outa my magical hat, the same place I'm pulling the $20 a month to help make this club successful.

That's fine, don't sign up, but to say you've got to "harass" people for this scheme misses my original sentiment. That being that the club has our attention and Knows it. Now when we all get the letter about invrsting in our club they can give us options. One being a monthly direct debit, hit us with a reminder one month later then use the website. No big song and dance. Some sign up (probably around 2500) Others use a different form of donating, that's fine. The point being it is such a small amount per month it becomes easier for us to give. So you do what you want and I and quite a few others will sign up
