  1. Not if he was the only player in the draft.
  2. And to think Wirrapunda was ours if we let Kowal go, anyway after 12 years I should probably move on. But.......
  3. Looking forward to Wednesday's news Headlines I'm hoping for "DEMONS DEMOLISH DEBT AS CASEY SAYS YES" And one for the preseason "BRUMBY ANNOUNCES CASEY FIELDS STATION TO BE BUILT IN 2009" And then one for Xmas "MCC TO BUILD STADIUM AT CASEY" And one more for good measure "DEEEEELIGHTFUL" Dated 2 Oct 2011.
  4. Pavlich. He'd be fairly handy
  5. So they can show the boys belting out the theme song after a gutsy 4 point come from way behind win!

Is this the new idea, it's pretty good. If we have to have white this works really well
  8. His hair maybe thin, but that's a bit harsh.
  9. If you have to watch the Chinese show us that they are the new bosses of the planet and they can stifle dissent, cut access to free press, detain and torture anyone they like, call the Dalai Lama a murderer, burn fossil fuels at a rate unknown to this planet, prop up dictators so they can buy oil and generally behave like Americans on steriods then just record it and watch it later. For mine, they can shove the "friendly" games, I'm going to the Footy!
  10. It's like the draft. I'm excited. I hope we get the deal through, it'd be a massive step backward if we missed out
  11. C'mon RR, the guy is a twit. Do you take what he has written as anything other than tacky journalism aimed at the easiest of targets. I think we should all unite and bag him, it will make us feel better and bring us closer together on this day of peace.
  12. Now we all agree, hell, it's turned into a lovefest here on Demonland.
  13. Classic Crikey. Take a fact (Irving coming to the Dee's and not making it so sacked to make way for one of the more successful rookie listings ever) and then contort it to shamelessly denigrate a handful of club legends, all in the name of journalism. If that's what people want to read let 'em read it. Stynes has gathered a very solid board. These people haven't come along to help Jim stroke his ego, they have come to use their skills to help rebuild this club. This clown scoffs at Stynes management ability by saying he runs a charity. Last time I checked charities are run just like any other business except the profits go to those who need the most. Hardly the career of an ego maniac. The reason they patched him up is because Dean was well past his best and couldn't get a game at a club that was playing pretty good footy. Sound's like sour grapes to me. As for the whole Garry Lyon thing. Personally I think it's great he's helping out. We need all the help we can get.
  14. I've been thinking about the next 2 drafts after this. It might not be the wasteland that many predict. Clubs with players aged 21 - 23 may well be in a strong position to trade with the new clubs for draft picks, which I think they have to do. This may leave us with the ability to trade up for some picks. I mean if we only win 4 games next year and finish bottom, we're in for some priorities anyway. Add a couple of trades and we may be able to pick up some talent next year as well. Just a thought. I know, I know, we will hopefully win more games than that but we might not and there's every chance we'll finish bottom again.
  15. Fair point, butt Watts might be, and I'm sure we're lining up to take a mid in the draft. So as stated by another, things can turn around very quickly. Also I'm confident our back 6 will outdevelop Hawthorn's over the next 3- 4 years.
  16. Hey look we agree, don't that feel good!
  17. You might get strung up as a heretic for saying this, I've got the rope burns to prove it!
  18. More travelling sideways as he learns a new craft, tagging the very best players in the league. I don't think Adam Cooney would think he's stalled
  19. If you look back you'll see that you picked out the point re: pressure and replied to me, pointing out that you had "rechecked the thread" now you're swinging it around on me. Anyway, all besides the point really. The point being, as I have already said, Would you trade CJ for pick 26, the rest of the banter is just that, banter.
  20. Look, as I have said in any other draft I wouldn't put Green on the table. Basically my point is would you swap him for pick 16 - 22. I would, you mightn't, that's fine. It would be unlikely that the club would trade him anyway, but for a good pick it would be hard to resist. And of course I have some idea of who they will keep and who they won't, but of course I may be wrong.
  21. I understand this but the next 2 or 3 drafts are comprimised, so we may well not have the luxury of keeping players like Green. We've signed McDonald, we'll probably keep Bruce, some will have to go.
  22. With regard to Hawthorn, I was talking about tanking, which they did to secure draft picks. And why would Geelong get rid of such players when their premeirship window was opening. If you hadn't noticed we're very young, premeirship window still at the joiners. When fitted and opening Brad Green will be well past his best. Hence due to this being the last full draft we need to get another 1, hopefully 2 high picks, therefore we use Green as he's worth something. But then again if your happy scraping into the finals in 2 years time thanks to Green's leadership let's not trade him for a first rounder and maybe develop a premeirship side.
  23. Ok smart arse, what I was saying is they are 2 different types of pressure, I didn't, as you so smartly pointed out, actually explain each of them. I didn't think it was necessary. If you don't know the differencc then let me know and I'll explain it to you. By the way I wasn't criticising CJ or saying he couldn't handle pressure, that point was made by another. I was pointing out that there is a difference in the 2 types of pressure, but you already know that don't you. By the way, for what it's worth if we are offered a second round pick for either CJ or PJ, say, pick 26, do you want the club to take it. I think this was basically the point of this thread.
  24. The draft situation this year presents us with no alternative but to attempt to trade for some picks. The next 2-3 years the draft is comprimised. We need to get some good picks. Hence I have advocated trading Green even. Now, in normal years I wouldn't do this but we are not in a normal year. Our list has gaping holes. The HBF is not one of them hence of course CJ is tradeable, it's foolish to think otherwise. But currently he's probably worth more to us than to another side, so our return would be poor. Next year however we'll have a new team in the comp who are going to be looking for such players (21 - 22, 30 odd games) It is then that players such as CJ and yes PJ will have currency. The old adage "for the right price" has never been truer.
