On the other side of the coin if Watts was capable of winning half of his contests he is in he may get his leads honored more regularly. I agree that he must be given the opportunity to compete. -

It will be nice to discuss a player's down side in relation to football and not be labelled a "player basher".I think the personal attacks are ridiculous, but they have historically come from all angles, and quite a few from the perceived "victim". The training threads provide some value, but it would be nice if the discussion could be kept fair, open and honest. -

Intelligent discussions about the reality? -
Col is just another in a long line of recent departees from the MFC who have done very little to nothing.

I say that we get on the front foot. Boycott it on account of not wanting to play against drug cheats. -

I was framed I tells ya.When the evidence is too strong the last play is to claim conspiracy and fabrication. The reality bus has arrived at Windy Hill. It arrived at the Hird's place but Jimmy has convinced itself that it isn't there for him, Tania is frantically researching the term "reality" and is challenging the legality of the bus' authority to carry passengers.

Classic last resort defence. With this and the NAB cup fiasco It seems that there are some realisations setting in.

I do agree they get a bit much and far too personal and I don't usually get involved. I am not in any camp, I draw my own conclusions. You won't get a balanced view from TDI on here, and that is by his own admission... unless he has suddenly changed his philosophy. The part that I and I think others find incredibly annoying is TDI attempting to quash any reasonable discussions of a player's weaknesses and I have seen this happen many times. It is just silly. -

I have you on ignore TDI but i thought i would respond to this. By your own admission you "dont like to discuss players weaknesses" and admittedly that is paraphrasing, I can't possibly go back through all of your posts and find the statement/s. This makes you an unreliable source of info by your own admission. You have consistently berated other posters for "player bashing" when they have questioned a player's kicking style, intensity or endurance. This takes away enormously from your credibility. -

I think that comes from both sides of this argument if you look closely enough. I really have difficulty with the subjective and biased sycophants too, there aren't too many around fortunately. If the writer's prejudices distort the observations then the writer's words cease to mean anything. -

Jordie is a good kick, Watts hard at it, Toumpas is quick. Top 4 beckons. Will be bitterly disappointed if it doesn't happen. -

Talking point: The most important position on the ground
jabberwocky replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't buy that either, but teams have won flags with "competent" rather that "star" forwards. Not sure that you could say that about midfields. -
It's also a reason why I think we are a very difficult side to quantify at the moment. It's a very different list with vastly improved midfield options in particular.

Talking point: The most important position on the ground
jabberwocky replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Most important position on the ground, easy answer is that there is no such thing. Midfields are crucial, you can win flags without star forwards and backs but you must have a star midfield unit to succeed at the pointy end. As RP has said, one good one is not enough. -

Mckenzie has poor penetration and power in his kicking, he takes the easy option as a result.. regardless of what the DE says. It's not really up for debate. This is a forum about football, specifically MFC, and the players that play for them. A discussion about how they play football seems fairly relevant to me. Discussing thier sexuality, thier children and partners and other personal topics I would avoid at all costs. The discussion has been had before, your retorts against anyone who has the temerity to evaluate the game of a player is tiresome and I have had enough.
