  1. I leave the medicos to do thier job but if there is one thing we need to build into our list its strong durable bodies. We cannot carry any more flimsy bodies regardless of talent level IMO.
  2. I hereby decree his nickname to be "fatty"
  3. For a dual wooden spoon winner our club has been getting a lot of positive press lately. If there are people at the club pulling these strings they deserve a pat on the back.
  4. I hope he goes to Carlton. Giving Bradshaw a three year deal is absolutely stupid. Massive risk and could be a huge mistake. Carlton are taking massive risks at the moment IMO, they must think their window is open. I see a list with gaping holes being filled by injury prone and older players combined with club rejects.
  5. Thats how I saw it. Need blokes like beamer. Having been around footy clubs all my life passion is infectious and a key element of success. Call it bleeding red and blue, passion for the club, willingness to die for the jumper....whatever. We need it.
  6. I'm inclined to agree but a talented list is far more likely to succeed that one that doesn't have the talent. A lot more needs to go right, but the club has done this the hard but right way.
  7. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...75/default.aspx Some interesting points from Bailey. "We've positioned ourselves very well in what we've done in the last two years and what the intentions are this year as well." Bailey virtually admits that our postion was "engineered". And we have won 2 wooden spoons not 3.
  8. From what I hear for him to be rookied again he waould have to be delisted and rookied again. Confirm anyone? Could it be that the club is letting him try his luck in the drafts to get himself on to a senior list with the intention of rookie listing him again if he slips through?
  9. Maybe there was a large quokka sh*t!
  10. Is this demonland, where am I?
  11. This! How about we just get some effing good players at our club.
  12. There is an old thread on this. Happened about 6 weeks ago I think
  13. Being pedantic....how can you sign him? I can understand the organising of details of a contract. I don't understand how you could sign someone without drafting them first
  14. Likely that 2 of Bartram, Cheney or McNamara will be removed from the senior list. As said before Bartram has the pace and desire, struggles with the poise and skills. Would be ok as an inside mid but doesnt have the build for it and lacks the polish to be an outside player. I can see Bartram being delisted and Tmac being rookied.
  15. Yes indeed. Chunky bald number 2. Very confident.
  16. The nocker is good value. Strong and determined he is. Doesn't panic either. Shame his brother didn't join us then we could have had oulselves a fine pair of nockers.
  17. Any of this draft talk is speculation but I think Vardy will be on our radar come 18. While good ruckman can be rookied a ruckman with running ability and skills can be a smart investment. It seems clubs are willing to pay over the odds for young ruckmen at the trade table in the unlikely event we end up with a surplus.
  18. Rollo, gave you a tentative commitment but had to pull out last time. This time I am confident I can get there Depending on how you go for player numbers I could pull the boots on. 37 and have been retired for a long time but still kick the footy with the kids, the full size footy would probably throw me though. Otherwise I could run water etc.
  19. As he grows in size and confidence would like to see him throw himself into the aerial contests a bit harder and a bit more often. He has the size, leap and judgement to be a damaging aerialist if he backs himself a bit more. Potentially the best at the club in this regard. I have noticed him take a couple of marks that showed he has the knack of getting his body positioned nicely into a marking contest and gets good hang. His kicking lacks any penetration. He kicks the ball too high and it spins too quickly. A big pre-season and a stronger frame might see Stef impose himself a lot more.
  20. Spot on. Clint is never going to be a polished midfielder and he hasnt got the body to be a a workhorse.
  21. There's a fine line between keenness and desperation.
  22. Sylvia Grimes Jones Davey Trengove
  23. Wonna has reallly grown on me in his absence because I think he brings something we lack. His enthusiasm is team lifting and infectious. Much in the way that the Wiz was and Robbo when he was on. Footy is natural and fun to him, and he behaves on the field like a winner.
