Yep we can elevate a rookie. See RPFC's explanation http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24151

I believe that the spot on the senior list vacated by Bruce allows us to upgrade a rookie. I am however no expert on such matters but I am fairly sure that this is the case.

Far too early to call obviously, a lot of of players will firm and drift in the pre-season and players such as Howe, Cook, Gysberts, Blease and Campbell could come into calculations with good pre-seasons. I tip that one or two of those will press for a spot. Most have Watts and Trengove as automatic selections, both will need solid pre-seaon form IMO. My tip is Blease, Gysberts and Tapscott to stake some claims for selection early in the season....and chances are that injuries will free up a couple of spots. My best guess is, B: Bartram Garland Rivers HB: Grimes Frawley MacDonald C: Davey Moloney Bennell HF: Bate Green Sylvia F: Dunn Jurrah Petterd, Foll: Jamar McKenzie Scully Int: Campbell, Jones, Trengove, Sub: Bail Emergencies:Blease, Morton, Watts, Warnock,

= Irony Chris Connolly Exuberant, passionate, fairly charismatic, maybe over the top sometimes but never found him to be abrasive.

Was it a long or short meeting? Did you converse?

Similar to Dustin Fletcher in that while he doesn't possess great body strength he has the speed to stay in the contest and the judgement, athleticism and flexibility to get a fist in. Like Fletcher he has a booming kick and very good hands. His decision making was a little off at times during the season and it took him a while to get into the swing of things, he was out of footy for a season. Possibly the most under-rated footballer on the list.
-
When he is not under immediate physical pressure. That is however a very good sign. With time and confidence his decision making and execution which is very good from behind the mark should translate into the other areas of his game.

Don't disagree one iota on this occasion H. I believe it's about two things.. his right and left eye.

So is Hannabal right or wrong?

This really shouldn't be discussed on a footy forum but everyone has been indoctrinated by something (MFC maybe). I think you will find that our parents indoctrinate us with a lot of stuff and coming to people come to thier own conclusions as adults about many things, not just religion. Plenty of kids see their parents abuse drugs and alcohol, see domestic violence and crime and become indoctrinated by that, that is child abuse. If by teaching my children about a peace loving man called Jesus Christ means I am abusing my children, then I will take my form of child abuse over the former. Whether or not you believe in religion, at least it provides a moral structure for those who made it, and if you don't need it then so be it, but live and let live. Jesus Christ whether you believe he existed or not provides a great example by which to live by. Just like Ghandi, Mother Theresa or Jim Stynes. I am so sick of these atheist types trying to push their views on others. Imagine the furore if the shoe was on the other foot. It's normally the atheist's claim that religion is pushed down thier throat, this thread has shown that the opposite is at work here. Next you will be knocking on my door trying to get me to convert, giving me free books etc.
-
Ok, the guy believes in Jesus and that bothers you. Is it right that you are happy to have someone looking after "player welfare" as long as they have no religious associations. If that's the case then your argument implodes on itself. I'll let it go too.
-
Very much looking forward to seeing him in the ones.

OK I will mark you down as one who will call for the sacking of the coach after a single loss. At least you have the gumption to admit it. And yes the loss was unacceptable.
-
I wonder if we lose round 1 again if all the Chicken Littles will rear thier heads again and call for the beheading of the coach etc.

This thread is so full of irony it's like a bhp smelter..... you know iron...y. sorry terrible similie, best I could do before tea

As far as posts go this is pure art. Reminds me of when the Americans had to fight the Taliban.... who were using artillery given them by the Americans to fight the Russians.
-
You don't have to be pro-religion or anti-religion to need a chaplain and you have a choice or not whether to use the service. It's called freedom. The club clearly saw a need for it and filled the need. Players then have the choice. Not the greatest thread.

Thank you. And Welcome.

Depends on your definition of "facts". Bruce wanted to go to Hawthorn, whatever his reasoning. Bailey said he wanted to keep him, maybe he did. He said the same about Chris Johnson and Brock, maybe he really wanted to keep them too. The only thing we do know about these departures is that none of these players now play for Melbourne, either by the clubs design, the player's design or more likely a combimation of factors involving both parties. I wish no ill against any person and I hope that Brock, CJ and Cam Bruce have long and fulfilled lives, but as far as their football careers go I couldn't give a stuff.
-
People can try and judge the ethics of Bruce and the Club in this instance but without all of the facts it is complete folly. Even with the facts there would be mitigating factors for both sides making it difficult to pass a moral judgement. All I know is that Cameron Bruce is a Hawthorn player and I support the Melbourne Football Club. I will also support the club in the management of it's list, it has an excellent recent track record.

Yeah probably Thanks
