  1. No I don’t. But I’ll enjoy it.
  2. Looking back, I feel slightly grateful that the incompetence of the MFC during that period, and the consequent wounds as a passionate supporter (including as a debt demolition supporter), resulted in not very much - certainly not much to celebrate. I’m almost glad we hit rock bottom, rather than consistently finished 7th to 11th during that period. Why? Because those among us who stuck fat behind the club will be entitled, and able, to give the middle digit to everyone who patronised us during that period if and when we win the next flag. The roses will smell particularly nice if we do. I’m sure it’s easy to support the successful clubs. It however takes far more character to support the likes of the Dees. If there was to be a supporters’ draft, we’d consistently be the number one draft pick. Let’s bring this ship in to port. Go Demons.
  3. I genuinely don’t understand why the average Aussie bogan appears to like Eddie. I just don’t get it. Despite his hugely manicured working class narrative, he appears to be the most upwardly aspirational, classless, unempathetic, unathletic, unashamedly ambitious dude in the entire country. No one in this country finds these characteristics appealing. Not even Collingwood supporters. The world can be a very strange place. In any event, Collingwood appear to have significant cultural issues. It may be a very difficult year for them. God bless us all, eh.
  4. ... which unfortunately translated into a fanatical, almost desperate, game style for the first half of the year. There was no tempo about it at all. They just needed to calm down, to be cooler and smarter with the ball - well, with everything really. Hopefully they’ll have learnt from last year, and will now play with more maturity, with more class, and with cooler heads.
  5. Apologies if this is a silly comparison (I have no idea about the kid other than what I've read here) - but could he be a Charlie Curnow type of forward?
  6. If we manage to make a Grand Final in the next couple of years, the smart money will be on Steven May to win the Norm Smith.
  7. Yep, astute observation - even though Kossie’s still a young kid who has not yet developed a tank and was recruited on the basis of his future potential, let’s delist him immediately.
  8. May needs to be included in some senior leadership capacity. And I expect he will be.
  9. Whether the comparison is appropriate or not, I feel that Lewis: has genuine faith in the quality and ability of this list; and has sufficient knowledge and experience to be able to hold, and express, a credible view on this.
  10. This was my one big take out from Lucifer’s report too (which was very good btw) - I really like the fact that Jordan Lewis is still involved with the club. Ohh, and perhaps also that T Mac is looking the goods and is training with the backs. Two good news stories.
  11. Choco Williams. This is like some kind of movie. In fact, get Netflix onto this now - literally from the day Choco enters the building.
  12. I don’t know what to think about this. Guess I’ve got to trust the club. Mahoney always struck me as a competent and loyal MFC guy - he impressed me. He was also fantastic at upgrading our lowly draft picks. I wish him all the best at EFC. Not too much luck, but definitely some luck.
  13. I’ll attempt to answer this. In a former role in my life, I used to manage a very large legal team at a major bank which controlled significant spend on legal firms each year just after the GFC - circa $35m each year. I headed up (and controlled) this spend for 5 years. That attracted significant interest. And, quite obviously, invitations to various things followed - bull sharks to a fishing trawler. Who cares you might reasonably ask? Well, I didn’t. I didn’t give a flying stuff. BUT - there was one moving part which was relevant. I was based in Sydney, and I was known to be about the only person in a relatively senior out-sourcing gig in NSW who was passionate about AFL. Everyone else liked rugby union, or cricket, or just themselves. I was known to be a Demons tragic - relevantly, I didn’t sell out. ? GWS had just started up in Sydney, and it was keen to attract the interest of Sydney’s corporate community. They tried admirably but they received little to no penetration. In the early days at least. Anyway, as a result of being the only dude who was vaguely interested in AFL at the time, I was invited to, and attended, a lot of GWS’s corporate functions, all of which were exceptional. I heard Mark Williams speak at several of them, quite often for ages. He was just SO freakin impressive. He gets this stuff. He’s charismatic as all hell. He’s a great motivator. He’s experienced. He’s a visionary. He’s a legend. Like many here, I thought he was an absolute tool with his antics after the 2004 Grand Final. And then I heard him speak regularly from 2009 and beyond - I heard him a lot in fact. Don’t be confused here, this guy’s the real deal. He’ll make us great. The likes of Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca, I expect, will hang off his words. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that this boring and conservative club has just shown so much vision and confidence. I saw the appointment whilst causally looking at my wife’s Insta account - I just can’t believe it. Thought it was a joke at first. We could very well win the flag next year. Just sayin’. It’s time to get around this club. Everyone has to sign up. Force your next door neighbours to do so as well. It’s time to show some heart.
  14. I cannot believe this. It is beyond unreal. Never before has this club shown such ballsy yet inspired confidence.
  15. Like I expect most here, I don’t know the bloke. But I think it’s relevant that: - Paul Roos is an astute judge of talent and character and he brought him into the club - he initially played some very good games for us; and - most of us do not know what it’s like to be the recipient of unsolicited taunts, repeatedly, of a racist nature in circumstances where he’s had a fragile upbringing and probably requires some sensitive handling, not some 1970s Vic Bitter style mysogynistic footy club ‘deal with it’ approach. He strikes me as a fairly unusual character. That said, I suspect there’s some legitimate smoke to the fire here.
  16. Who cares what Dwwwayynne thinks. The reality is that every other club in the comp would be absolutely stoked to have Jackson on their list. So, thanks for your expert comments Dwwwayynne. Pity for you that you’re absolutely incorrect.
  17. Same here. I immediately thought to myself, ‘who the [censored] is this dude?’ And then I almost immediately discovered it’s actually a new club sponsor. My settings instantly turned to ‘thank you’. All good. I now have nothing but affection for this entity and will purchase this wine, whether or not I like it.
  18. I’d be pretty upset if I were a North supporter. But I’m not. This is fantastic. Go Dees. ?
