2022 Match Review Panel
There's no class action being assembled for victims of cracked ribs, torn hamstrings or high ankle sprain injuries. Also, I thought it was a great tackle. If one of our blokes laid that I'd be punching the air in approval

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs North Melbourne
Hey Jaded - fair points one & all. My membership doesn't cover away games but I was interested in going to Docklands this week. So I got onto Ticketdisaster. According to them, "least expensive" seats were 55 bucks on Level 4 and "best seats" were about 75 bucks on L1. Hard to justify I thought. Strangely. on the telecast it appeared L4 was either closed or so sparsely populated that a crowd was undetectable.. Will have to have a closer look when I watch the replay

Chandler Tackle
I wish but they've dodged a bullet here and they should be smart enough to know it. Tribunal would likely increase the penalty

Chandler Tackle
Not sure about reckless but agree with the rest. Young Chandler mixed enthusiasm with poor technique. Even had Foley not hit his head, it was a free kick for in the back. Poor tackle and those who think it was "perfect" need to put away the Footy Flashbacks DVDs. I'd have thought a free kick was fair until it became obvious Foley was concussed. At that point Outcome over Action steps in and I knew a suspension was coming. Two weeks is a bit harsh for a single action tackle though. Hopefully Foley is ok and Chandler improves his tackling technique - and a few of his team mates take notice. We have a couple that give away in the back frees when tackling from behind

Chandler Tackle
I like watching Liam Ryan play. His efforts in an undermanned WCE team this year have been full of merit. So I wish him no ill. However his bump on Bowey is a textbook example of what we are trying to remove from the game. That sort of action can put someone in a wheelchair for the rest of their days. This was a perfect opportunity for the MRO to confirm that this action won't be tolerated. Sorry Liam, you were bang out of order, have 3 weeks off. Instead they slap him with a wet lettuce. The MRO system is clearly broken. Either the prescriptive formula for assessing incidents needs a complete overhaul or Michael Christian is just not up to the job.

CHANGES: Rd 10 vs North Melbourne
I've a feeling that the Harmes hamstring may help Melksham creep towards his 200th. Which I wouldn't begrudge him. Bedford would be my pick

Depends if you're getting a game or not. Barring Ellis, none of those Richmond blokes were walk up starts for best 22 anymore. You can add Dan Butler to that list. Ellis went as an RFA. Richmond could have kept him if they matched the GCS offer Kelly left purely for family reasons - a couple of his kids had medical issues & he & his missus wanted family support in caring for them. Clark was dissatisfied with the amount of games he was getting. Jed Anderson had been injury riddled & rarely got a game at Hawthorn Buddy & Ablett - exception circumstances / $$$$$ Headland I can't recall - maybe go home factor or maybe Freo just threw a blank cheque at him- Gawn Knee Concerns
He'd be on minimum chips Cassie. That's exactly why he's there. Cheap & only needed in case of emergency. He's good insurance but you'd hate one of rucks to cop a six week injury have to rely on Majak- POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs St Kilda
I'd think he just slots back onto his HBF position where he is a star. However that isn't the role that Hunt's playing. The flow on effects are gonna be fascinating though as Gus is playing so well off half back that you'd be loathe to move him. Plus JJ has obviously studied the Gus 2021 playbook and is doing a terrific job of emulating him. Salo's return is a great problem to have and I'm currently clueless as to how the match committee will put all the pieces together.- Farewell Luke Jackson
Yeah, you did. And you just did again. The sum total of the post made by @Beetle was "Players will be offloaded at years end". That's it. No mention of top players or any others for that matter. That was all you misquoting him. I'm done with this. Suggest you take some time to sharpen up the old reading & comprehension skills. Perhaps if you weren't in such a rush to pump out your own drivel you might actually take the time to absorb what you're responding to. Y'all have a nice day now 😄- POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs St Kilda
Good point Dazzle. Great to see his role being recognised for what it is - defence first, not the run & carry of his early years. In Goodwin's post-match presser he confirmed that Hunt had been trained for the small forward defence. I'd never have thought he'd be a likely candidate but he's taken on Nev's old job & he's making a fine fist of it to date.- NON-MFC: Round 8, 2022
Liked for the Deep Purple reference- Farewell Luke Jackson
Say what you like mate. I really don'rt GAF. Just don't misquote other posters to make your point- NON-MFC: Round 8, 2022
I don't hate Frosty but must admit I enjoy watching him have goals kicked on him. I do hate Essendon - everything about them. But, the 22 blokes in those hideous black & red jumpers deserve credit tonight. That was a tremendous win under the circumstances. Even found myself barracking for them. Time to give myself a shower & possibly disinfectant treatment. I feel very dirty.- Is David Noble the new Mark Neeld?

Where did he say top players ? He just said players. Jesus, learn to read- CHANGES : Rd 08 vs St. Kilda
Harmes has stuffed up plenty of attempts at goal without TMac's input. The whole TMac mark on the line has been overblown here. Fritta did it to Sparrow in Q1 of the GF. That turned out ok !- CHANGES : Rd 08 vs St. Kilda
Brown's return was complicated by logistics. He came out of iso on the morning of the game. Would then have had to get to the airport & fly to Adelaide & have limited prep time on the day. This was also at a time when every second flight out of Tullamarine was being cancelled. I reckon ANB plays if he's suffered no ill effects- Dylan Shiel
A bit the same. I thought he was fantastic early on at the Giants and was hoping we could prise him out of there. Unfortunately he was playing a lot better at 19 than he is at 29. Still has talent, pace & power and could be a significant asset in the right environment. It appears that's not Essendon. Economically, it can't be us.- NON-MFC: Round 07, 2022
Which one ? You can't have both- Dangerous umpiring decision
I don't think it is unless you take the legs of the tackler. Then the old Jimmy Edmonds/Peter Foster rule comes into play. Ducking usually gets called as play on rather than a high tackle. There was some discussion of this in the MRO thread. FWIW, my two cents worth : The AFL missed the boat on this a couple of years ago when they decided to call "play on" should a player deliberately duck and cause high contact to himself, rather than paying a free kick for high contact as was previously the case. What they should have done was made that a free kick against the player who ducked. In that way, there's a penalty against the team Players would soon have that action coached out of them. And if they don't, they don't get a game - Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
