demonology
There was a site called MFCFlame which was the first one I joined. I remember old55 (Pollyanna) and Rono (TGR) were on it. Then found Demonland which had a whole lot more traffic. Demonology was revived on a new platform by a young fella named Jarrad - I think with Tim's blessing. He did a good job but it never really gained the traction of the old site. I went across (different user name to here) but haven't been on for a couple of years. Got jack of old mate Range Rover hijacking every thread.

2021 Injury List
I can't see him on any lists but I'm pretty sure Mitch Brown was injured at training after the Hawthorn game. Might be on one of Burgo's updates for that week.

The Charlie Spargo Appreciation Thread
A good interview on the club website. Young Charlie speaks well. Benny Gibson looks like a work experience kid but he puts together some good media content. Charlie Spargo - Talking Points

Would you take Jeremy Howe back?
Very good. Took a few seconds before the penny dropped on that one. Well played

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
Bringing Brown in is gonna cause some structural shift. Unless you drop LJ & Brown contributes in the ruck. Neither of which is on. So Brown forward, Melksham Casey and TMac to take over Melksham's "connector" role which is essentially a large part of what he's been doing anyway. We lose Melk's distribution skills but TMac gets the ball more, is a more obvious target & far better in the air. He kicks fairly low & flat into the forward line so that may be to our advantage. He'll throw in the odd howler but who doesn't. This gives the least disruption to our structure. I've no idea how to fit Weid in at this stage

Would you take Jeremy Howe back?
Wouldn't take him back but only on a cost v needs basis. Still a good footballer but at 30 odd is surplus to our requirements. It seems forgotten that the year before he left we tried to shop him to GWS for a draft pick. Top ten I think we were aiming at. He didn't want to go there.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
What's the problem. He's an ordinary commentator but he was right in this instance. And what what do "his mob" have to do with it ? He was commenting on Melbourne v Richmond. People get upset by the most trifling things. 6 - 0 mate. Enjoy the ride

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Pretty sure Fritsch went into Epworth the night he fractured his hand & had a plate of some description put in. So the bone's essentially protected & the issue is how quickly he recovers from the surgical wound. In that context, missing one game is not unreasonable.

What they're saying down at Punt Road
That call he made comparing his lot as a Tiges supporter to Jacquie Kennedy post the JFK shooting is one of the funniest things I've ever heard. Wonder if he still has the petrol station. Mario from Doncaster Good times !

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
This is the biggest issue our team faces if we are to improve and contend. We've improved significantly in the areas where we don't have the ball - the pressure from Spargo, ANB & Kozzie is forcing front half turnovers and even TMac & Fritsch have ramped up their tackling & pressure games. Where the improvement is less apparent is when we have the ball. Our forward line is often stagnant or we have players leading to the one spot. That really limits the options for the ball carrier coming forward. Supporters often criticise mids for "the long bomb" to the goal square but when your forwards don't offer an alternative................... you can "lower your eyes" all you like but if there's nothing coming at you, all you can do is go long. There are plenty of examples where we've hit up forwards on the lead this season but the movement needs to be constant. When sides flood back like GWS did and it looks like there's no space, forwards still have to lead. It's as much about drawing defenders, disrupting their zone & creating space for your fellow forwards as it is about getting hit lace out & having a shot at goal. Forwards working for each other. Selfless.

Ed Langdon on RSN (13/4/21)
Halfway through the last quarter Mitch Duncan receives the ball in open space & starts running it towards Geelong's forward line. Langdon gives him 25 metres start and is no hope of catching him. But he puts on the jets & bloody near gets him just as Duncan takes his kick. I thought that summed Langdon up. Unconditional effort given no matter what.

Clayton Oliver Re-Signs Until 2023
Suspect he's at home playing with his trains, having erected another picket in the fence He has been on the Clarrie Choo-Choo (worst nickname ever) Train since before the kid was drafted by us. So he will be a very happy Fence tonight I'd reckon. Good on him

CHANGES: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
The Robbie comparison might have been over the top but don't be too hard on yourself @dazzledavey36. To be fair, in his first two years you couldn't have asked for much more from poor old Cale. He was tracking beautifully as an outside mid. Fair to say it all went to hell after that but the start of his career was good. Something that's usually forgotten

Jayden Hunt Re-Signs for 2 years
He's improved week on week this season. R1 was pretty ordinary to my eye. Overran the ball several times & let it get out the back. R2 he tidied that up and tightened up his defensive game but his disposal was pretty shoddy. R3 his disposal improved & his support running & defensive running got better. His dashes forward see to have more purpose now & I suspect he & Langdon get quite a kick out of combining & putting on the afterburners. He's always going to throw in the odd clanger but as someone else has pointed out, we're better at dealing with that now. Let's hope he continues to consolidate & improve. In his current form he makes us a better team. Also makes us even more fun to watch
