Thought he showed a bit when used at CHB for Casey. Looked more composed, good ball use by hand & foot. Surprised a player of his size has been released on the back of so little opportunity to develop.

I'm not a fan of retiring numbers although "resting" No.2 for a couple of years might be appropriate. We've rested No. 2 before after Robbie retired. As I recall - and @picket fence might remember, Flower wasn't comfortable with his number being out of action. Eventually he went to training and asked the playing group who thought they were good enough to take it on. A young blonde winger stuck his hand up and said "I'll take it". And Stephen Tingay carried on the No. 2 with great distinction. Maybe Jonesy can anoint his successor in that great jumper

Got a bit jumpy after watching training this arvo so I settled myself by watching Jaka & Ox highlights. How good were those blokes. Pretty much my thoughts Dazzle. Our preferred forward structure includes two KPFs plus Jacko & Fritta. Given our 2 current keys forwards are approaching veteran status, we would be mad to punt the Weed as we have no other young KPF on the list. If one of BBB or TMac go down, at the very least Weed can fill a role.

Same. Mahoney had a remarkable capacity to turn what we want into what we need. Hopefully he left his playbook lying around

Anything that gets those blow-ins Geelong, Carlton & Essendon the [censored] off our home ground is fine by me. They have home grounds so they can bloody well use them. Also fine is Richmond having to take a trip down the Geelong Rd and having their supporters fight for the 30 or so away tickets that Geelong give out
