Tough first half of the year. I have us down for 3 wins 7 losses coming up to the bye 3 wins being Brisbane (confident) and Richmond & Bulldogs (not so confident). Second half gets better. Question is what have they got that we would want and what would they give up? they have picks 18, 40, 58, 76, 94 in the draft. Can't see them giving up pick 18. I am thinking we will end up with pick 40 plus a player like Ben Warren.(which does not excite me) I would't mind a swap for Matt Campbell and one of our later picks we need a small forward who can apply pressure. He is no world beater but neither is Maric and offers more pace than Maric

Green love him as a player and has been a good to great player over his career. He looks like the captaincy has weighed him down. just look at his face when he has a shot for goal. He looks like he is thinking "I am captain I goota kick this cause I am captain everyone expects me to kick a captains goal, i can't let the team down". In years goone by he would just line up and usually kick it. As for davey maybe off the feild but on it has never shown he is a leader. we won't see success with these two setting the tone.

Malthouse will not coach in 2012, does not want to (unless it's the pies) if by some miracle we were to snag him I fear he would not be 100% as he clearly wants to stay on at coaching the pies and he would be coaching us somewhat against his will (see malcom blight st Kilda) He needs to take a year off minimum and would be a great coach in 2013. Think about it Collingwood most likley play and win 2011 GF 1st week in October. Would he be in right headspace to begin pre season with us in the last week of October?? , have done enough research on players , drafting etc to ensure we get most of 2012. I think not Viney will not coach in 2012 said so already, again why have someone coaching who does not really want to

If We can't land a "big fish" which TBH looks like happening given Malthouse, Clarkson and roos are no chance IMHO We need to look at the next rung of assistent coaches. I think Gavin Brown is the best option on the lists being thrown around. - Tough as guts player and one of Collingwoods greatest ever Captains also a premiership player - Has coached in a successful Collingwood era so knows the latest tactics and what is required to win a premiership - Has developed himself by going to Carlton and no doubt been instrumental in their imprvement this year. He also has that tough reputation has mongrel about him and I believe because of his playing career would get instant respect from the players. Something Sanderson, neld , watters with all due respect would not have. PLayers respect coaches who were tough players

Which ever way you look at the whole sacking or what you thought of Bailey Fact is is spent the last 4 years doing everything he possibly could to get help get the Football club, I love back up the ladder. For that he has my upmost respect. Thanks Dean you tried your best, but it was not good enough good luck in your next endevour.

Bailey and many fans always raise the need for a big stay at home forward IMHO we have plenty of targets who can mark a ball what we lack is a couple of good small quick forwards who can apply pressure and snag a few crumbing goals also lack pace and skill in the midfield and running half backs

I agree another 6 day break will not help either.

I can see Jack Trengove being a Future Captain hard at it , consistent, speaks well looks the complete package to me.
