  1. And he did. Nice game Rohan, you can build on that.
  2. And for all the Miller bashers, if he was playing instead of Newton we may have won.
  3. The tap was brilliant but haven't seen it repeated. As I have said elsewhere on demonland, Spencer needs ruck coaching and plenty of it. His timing is completely off. Watch him today and you will see that when the ball is actually tapped out by his opponent, he is standing flat footed having jumped way too early.

We are just a tenant. It is administered by the Albert Park Trust or whatever the new name is and is crown land. Not for sale.
  5. We play the Pies at full strength minus only Presti, while we are down on form and confidence and racked with injuries. It will be a real test for this young side to see how they handle it. A good performance could be a base to build on.
  6. Great video. Interesting the majority of the highlights involved Jurrah and Sylvia, neither of whom have played yet. Also there were flashes from Jetta, Morton and Cheney who also haven't played. Then Dennis Commetti commented on how well the Dees were coached and the Ox said yes he is highly regarded down at Melbourne. It is amazing the difference from our last game last year and our first this year. I am convinced that with gametime for our younger players and the return of others like LJ, the two Colin's, Morton, Aussie and the blooding of a few more like Blease, Tapscott, Gysberts etc we will improve dramatically in the second half of the year
  7. Agree. He has a chance to show what he can do.

    Warnock

He was poor last night. Maybe that is because he was against a ruckman.
  9. We would probably show more speed than some in the team.
  10. Have you notice all the abrasions on the players from falling off their bikes?
  11. Do you think I could take the other pocket? I am 58, overweight, can't run to save my life and haven't played a game of footy in 20 years.
  12. Still learning that when you are small you either kick goals or get a lot of the ball. At the moment he does neither.
  13. Of course. The curse of the star player at Melbourne. Schwarz, Charles, Prymke, Dean, Jakovich, Tingay, Lyon, Jurrah, Aussie, Morton etc.
  14. A Demonology poster just reminded me of the Moloney suspension a few years ago. Beamer got 3 weeks I think for not making contact with a bump. The fact that no contact was made was declared irrelevant as the player fell over in trying to avoid the bump, which he did. Here we have a broken jaw 10 metres off the ball. Work that out.
  15. Last week against the Hawks many would have given us a chance and the disappointment of supporters was clear. This week we probably are given no chance so the result and reaction should be interesting.
  16. Congrats on the 200th Brad. Hope it is a great game for you and that the boys really put in an extra effort. Young enough to play many more for the Dees. Has been a great Demon over his career so far.
  17. You are not serious are you? Every AFL club uses video of games to show players.
  18. Having now seen the vision, I can understand why the footy department is seething that Kennedy got off. I am sure I saw his elbow raised and he came from the side and broke a guy's jaw who was 10 metres from the ball. End of story. High contact, heavy impact, deliberate bump not an accidental bump = suspension.
  19. Agree absolutely. I hope the karma bus delivers the culprit straight to jail.
  20. Agree. The problem I see is at the centre bounce his timing is completely off. He ends up standing on the ground while his opponent is in the air near the ball. He needs a lot of work in that area. He also is not a good mark at the moment and needs work there as well. However he is big, raw, willing and young. His co-ordination will improve and he has plenty of time to prove himself.
  21. Round 1 forward line: Half forwards:J.McDonald, M.Bate, R.Petterd Forwards: B.Green, B.Miller, J. Spencer Forward line later this season: Half forwards: B. Green, C. Garland, M. Bate or R. Petterd or C. Sylvia Forwards: L. Jurrah, J.Watts, Aussie. And a centre line of: Morton, Grimes, Trengove/Scully.
  22. Agree. I note that two rookies one from right under our nose in Silvagni and Barlow played for the Dockers tonight. Barlow had 33 possies and starred and is BT's new love child. My point is that they cost nothing yet they have mature bodies and can add something immediately. You don't need to draft babies with every single pick. I certainly agree you get the best kids with the high draft picks, but you need to mix it up with trading and drafting including rookie picks, in looking for talent/experience/maturity that will have an effect on the team and help the younger players through. We did take one mature player in MacDonald this year and I hope he gives us value.
  23. Bob, Dew, Croad, Gilham and Guerra as some examples were recruited by the Hawks as older players and then they also drafted two key forwards and we know who they are and they won their flag. I never said we needed a star player like Fevola, who would cost plenty, but rather someone who would not cost much and maybe nothing in a pre season draft, or a minor trade and I used Leigh Brown as an example.
