  1. Of course they do WJ, they all live at the Docklands in the AFL office.
  2. Have a look at the Ruckman for Casey, tell me who it is?
  3. Me too. I am grand daughter sitting tonight. Agree on the smiling bit, they can make you happy even after a 31 goal loss. Her father who is a Pies member has said she can be a Melbourne fan if he has the next one. Looks like she will get her first membership next year. PS. Hope your daughter is ok soon.
  4. Agree, that is how I am feeling. Probably need another banana smoothie. Maybe I will add vodka instead of honey. PS. I am curious to see how Butcher goes for Port today.
  5. Unfortunately I agree.
  6. Ah, a new weekend and endless more crap to ignore on the other thread. What makes me happy I suppose is that this thread could go on forever whereas the other one must expire sometime. I am a simple man and easily pleased.
  7. What about 59?
  8. "I think most players would take a grand final over money," he said. "When they see that there is a real chance at playing in a grand final and being successful - that's what we play football for. "When they see that window, you'd hope that we can actually back the club in, that with the environment that they're in and what we can provide for them over the next three to five years, they will want to stay with our football club. " And the author of those words was none other than Steven Silvagni, GWS Recruiting Manager. He was of course referring to the fact that despite leaving their original clubs for money, players would change their stripes and when it came to staying with GWS, ignore greater money offers from other clubs. This year's winner of the World's Greatest Hypocrite Award goes to SOS.
  9. At 194cms and mobile we have to make him into a good player, we just have to.
  10. It will be WJ. Accomodation at the resort will be $10.00 per player per week and that figure will be placed in the salary cap. There will then be a travel allowance to get to the ground of $100.00 per player per week and that will be deducted form the salary cap. There will also be a food allowance of $200.00 per player per week and that too will be deducted from the salary cap. There will also be a study allowance of $100.00 per player per week that will be deducted from the salary cap. That will leave an extra $1million in the cap for stealing more players from other clubs.
  11. I just refuse to believe that a kid who plays nearly every game at 18 in his first year, can fall apart as a footballer when he is 2 years older and a bit more experienced and stronger. There is more at play here as well as his injuries and interrupted pre seasons. Next year should be his year to grab a position and show us what he has got.
  12. I agree that a new Coach might be part of the answer. I just wonder if he needs a bit of love from the club. Some players go into their shell and lose confidence and feel that they are not part of the team going forwards and their game falls apart. I just get the feeling that Cale might fit into that category. A few good games to finish off the year, a new coach and new game plan and an uninterrupted pre season might be the making of Cale.
  13. The personal abuse has kicked in again on that other thread. It is actually remarkable that this topic that we don't discuss on here has taken up so much of people's lives. Getting back to more interesting matters, I hope Sylvia is recontracted soon and that we keep Morton. I just see a big upside for Cale who has clearly had a frustrating couple of seasons.
  14. Not sure how much Garry can achieve in his short time at the MFC, but one thing we are getting is a very experienced media performer who can answer questions directly and succintly. He is impressive in that regard and hopefully can get something positive achieved at the club.
  15. Sugar was sitting at the next table to me at the Foundation dinner on Ron Barassi's table. He looked very happy to be around the Melbourne faithful and I wait for the next call of "jobs for the boys". Only difference of course is that this will be an honorary role. He could be a good fit for the position.
  16. Glad you had a great time and a break from reading or posting on that other thread.
  17. Did you get the free desserts, what were they?
  18. Yes, when you raise a lot of money and hear that young stars are signing on for the next few years.
  19. The figure was actually $800,000.00.
  20. Might have one back in the side this week. PS. I know he is not really russian.
  21. Think he can still make it under a new Coach WJ. Can't believe an 18 year old kid who played so well in his first year hasn't gone on with it. Needs some physical development, confidence and a good game plan from a new Coach. Could be a big improver next year.
  22. Before people howl this down for talking drafting this early, I don't think we will draft too many this year. I can see us delisting a couple like Strauss and Aussie to be retaken as rookies. Bate, Maric and Warnock maybe traded if wanted by others and one lost to GWS and we know who that is. One might be uplifted leaving 5 spots with one going to a 17 year old compo pick leaving 4 picks. That I would think would be our maximum.
  23. If you were watching the Geelong game on TV you would probably have 5 or 6.
  24. I actually enjoy the odd vodka with some lime and lemonade or kahlua on ice.
