Interesting that the Sun article says that GWS has decided not to nominate JV and take Whitfield. It also says that no club has had to pay a top 10 pick for a F/S before. It would be typical if we had to and lose pick 3. IMO GC are convinced we will take JV whatever, despite the huffing and puffing. Knowing that, it would be a spiteful decision to nominate him. One can only imagine the reaction of Eddie if it was a Pies F/S. BB is correct, every team is trying to do the best deal for itself. I just hope we end up doing a deal to protect pick 3. I am convinced that is what GC are angling at. I just hope we don't stuff this up and lose pick 3.

Some of the issues I am dealing with are: will JV get through to the second round, will we get Dawes, Wellingham, Stevens, Caddy, Pedersen, Rodan, Jacobs, Butcher, Salopek, Byrnes, Young, etc, will we lose Martin, Rivers, Moloney, Morton, Petterd, Spencer, Cook, Davis, Bennell, Bate, Dunn, Sylvia etc, will we get anything for Jurrah, what compo will we get for Rivers, Moloney and Bate, will we trade for Hogan, will we draft Toumpas , Grundy, Kennedy, MacRae, Stringer, Mayes, Wines, Jaksch etc. This a nightmare..

That of course is the opposite of another post, where he has said recently he will do whatever it takes to be a regular at the MFC.

Where did I say I was offended? I just posted it because it was a good discussion point, considering his earlier outburst, calling the MFC a "disgusting and pathetic club", which did offend me and still does. BTW I personally would have said the deaths of John McCarthy and Jimmy were greater lowlights of this AFL year, but that is just me.

Rivers is UNRESTRICTED. If he wants to go he is gone.

He is seen as the Leigh Brown replacement and they played all three at the same time.
