  1. Matt Rendell on AFL site saying SA ruckman Brodie Grundy is a ready made AFL player. Wonder if we would consider drafting a ruckman with an early pick say our 3rd pick and clearing say a Spencer and maybe Petterd to GC to get a mid like Caddy and a promise not to name JV. We would still have 2 early picks to use on mids. That would give us 4 new mids and we could use a later pick to get a small forward. Draft hope 'a match-winner'
  2. Funny, I just read four other threads where he is the main talking point and the one thread you want to close down is the highest viewed one on Demonland ever, with the most replies and he isn't even mentioned. Oh well, it is your site.
  3. You have missed the point, this is exactly the opposite. This is not a thread about discussion of T$ but rather anything but. Therefore there is no need to close it down. At the very worst we could change the name to delete his initials, but to close down the thread is unnecessary. We can just change the name to the "no B$" thread.
  4. Heard a vicious rumour the other day that Whispering Jack is going to close down this thread after the GWS game next week. Talk about stifling Democracy and Freedom of Speech. This thread has been one of the most widely viewed ( over 70000 so far ) and heavily contributed to ( over 2000 posts so far ) threads in the history of Demonland. I suggest we threaten to dump a truck load of banana skins on his driveway if he goes ahead with his threat. We will not be censored.
  5. They will not be easybeats.
  6. Easier to do against them, as for example Bombers will be later in the first round and Daniher is meant to be a high pick. Therefore a few clubs ahead of Bombers would be prepared to nominate and take him. Bombers however, will do very well getting a player much later than his pick would be if he wasn't father/son. That won't be full price. We on the other hand could be forced to use a pick much higher than would be needed if he wasn't a father/son selection.
  7. Next you will tell me you are a real man and you eat it in a dirty cup.
  8. Weren't there about 25 players taken before Darling? If so, many got it wrong and he was just the best player at that pick, according to the Eagles. They clearly risked not getting him with the previous 25 selections. You can do this exercise on any good player taken a bit lower in the draft. For example 12 idiots missed Cyril Rioli who went at 13.
  9. Follow my lead, mix all the cereals together in a plastic see through container and you know when you are low. Also use fresh milk.
  10. How the game has changed. 2 brutal hits to the head of players bending over the ball, one to our Williams and the other to McKenna of the Eagles. Both players very lucky not to be seriously hurt. Then when the free was paid to McKenna, Ian Robertson the commentator berated the umpire for what he believed to be good hard football.
  11. Now you are talking. Last banana smoothie I had was ruined by too much honey.
  12. I hope he plays, though I have always doubted it. I hope the Dees fans give him hell and the players give him worse. BTW, I don't hate the guy, I am just angry at the lies and deception, that hurt the club.
  13. I can see where you are coming from as the head clash was accidental. The problem is that the AFL rules say, that a player who has a choice to do something other than what he did, which ends up in a head injury even though that part is accidental, is guilty of an offence. Brown didn't have to run at a bloke looking the other way and block him, he could have pushed him for example in the side. He chose to do a body block and then the accidental head clash makes him guilty of an offence. It is the AFL rule not mine. That is just the way it is, except of course when the player hit is Sylvia. Question: if that had happened to Dale Thomas would it be the same result. It is really up to the AFL to work out their own rules. My problem is the inconsistent way they apply them.
  14. You are right. I am waiting for the day I go to the G and find it has been taken away by an alien spaceship.
  15. I think you will find the commentators have been instructed by the AFL not to denigrate umpires and rarely highlight their mistakes.
  16. Great look for football from an incident 100 yards off the ball.
  17. Feel free to merge this with another thread if appropriate. "Contact between Collingwood’s Nathan Brown and Melbourne’s Colin Sylvia from the second quarter of Monday’s match was assessed. Melbourne had possession of the ball on its wing area and Sylvia and Brown were running deep into the Melbourne forward line. As the pair of players were heading towards goal, Brown pushes Sylvia in the chest and there was a clash of heads. It was the view of the panel that Brown’s action was an attempt to block Sylvia from making position in the forward line and the head contact was an accidental clash that could not be reasonably foreseen. No further action was taken. Exclusive to AFL BigPond Network" It appears you can do anything to Sylvia off the ball and get away with it. Kennedy of the Eagles broke his nose off the ball a couple of years ago, no report. Here the facts are twisted to suit a no report once again. Look at the vision and you will see that Brown ran at Sylivia, well off the ball, who turns around and is collected. Bloodied nose and mouth and forced to the ground and then off to be cleaned up. I agree with Robbo on AFL 360 last night who said, that it was a deliberate act off the ball, with a then clash of heads which was probably accidental, but that the instigator is responsible for that and should be cited. Clearly not when it is Sylvia.
  18. Nothing new. Our midfield ( Jones aside ) is crap and we have no small forwards. These two groups in the opposition kill us every week. Did I forget to mention, as I have been doing for over 5 years that we have the worst disposal in the AFL by far. I thought we gifted them 5-6 goals today.
  19. Was he trying to square up wtih Brown, who got him in the face off the ball?
  20. You don't need a spray to tell you, that you just were pathetic and cost your team a goal.
