  1. Thank God there are others who see the theft that this proposal would be against us if acted on. I am already starting to feel bile come up into my throat at the thought of it. Hopefully just papertalk and Sharrod doesn't like us anyway.
  2. Daylight saving and one hour less until we know JV's fate.
  3. I would be furious. 2 average players for a high pick. That pick is to be used for real special talent only. I could live with 13 for both. No one else wants Dawes and we seem to be treating him like he is Tippett.
  4. $1.11 on Deesbet. Partial meltdown $1.02
  5. I suggest you read at least a couple of them and then you might not be so confused as you claim.
  6. I would be nothing short of furious if we gave a first round pick for Dawes. I would rather forget the whole thing.
  7. Where did I say wait until the draft? It has been said at least 100 times already that we will know Viney's fate at about 10.05 monday morning.
  8. Agree. 3,4,&13 don't even mention them. Swap for Martin or Petterd ok. Swap for compo pick we get for losing Rivers and Moloney if second round ok. He is worth far less than Wellingham and they are talking high second round and maybe Stevens. Dawes is not Tippett and I could see Fitzpatrick passing him in a year.
  9. Other way round. They call out the player's name and wait for a club to bid in draft order. If there is a bid, the father/son club then agrees to use its next normal pick or the club that bids has him. End of story. If no one bids at all you can take him with your last pick in the draft. Process for the 3 F/S players should take about 5 minutes all up. The interesting feature could be which player goes first.
  10. Don't forget they would still need $1m of salary cap room for the next 4-5 years, which they haven't got. Oh that's right, all his family and friends could work for Visy.
  11. I could have been anything too, unfortunately I was nothing.
  12. Will be pretty disappointing if the Premier lands the biggest fish in the off season. May have to pay some chips to get him but they will find a way. Probably throw in a burger.
  13. The Swans do have a habit of getting deals done. Maybe a good young ex victorian has said to them he would be happy to be traded back home. They trade him and get a good pick. They trade a few others like Jesse White and get a couple of more picks. They then offer to swap their earlier picks for Crows later picks ( Swans first for Crows second etc ) all the way through the draft and give the top pick they get for the youngster. That sort of deal will get it done.
  14. Fear not, the animals are still on the farm. The Tippett scenario is nothing new.
  15. Lions have said they will move on Beamer if they miss out on Tippett. Beamer might be at the Lions very soon.
  16. They do that all the time.
  17. Where do I sign?
  18. "Tippett announced on Saturday he wanted to become a Swan, signing a four-year deal with the premiers." Herald Sun Saturday. That can't be right because anything he signs is invalid unless he can get to the club. I would imagine another journo has got it wrong. At best a handshake of "if you can get me I will come on those terms."
  19. Incorrect. John Reid who drew his contract and the Crows say that is untrue. There is no deal in place and he is like any other player. His management have not denied this.
  20. On another note I wonder how if at all this impacts GC and possibly nomionating JV. I would have thought that the Crows would be keen to do a deal with GC over Swans, ( better picks and more young players ). If they tell GC to hang onto pick 2 and they will try and get him to GC that may be good for us.
  21. Sorry DC didn't see your post before I posted.
  22. What are you talking about? He is like any player out of contract. He has got an offer and named a club he wants to go to. If there is no deal he nominates his price and goes into the PSD and the first club in draft order that wants to pay his price gets him. That's how it has been for years.
