  1. And the war between Pies, Malthouse and Carlton heats up.
  2. Just heard Buddy wants to come to us, we could swap bate for him. Wot bout tri get footy baller now soon wen he good not to later wen he no so good animore at doing it footie yes ok.
  3. Ok, well since Gerard is into Inquiries by the AFL, lets have one on this issue about players being approached before the 1st October, I think it's called poaching. Gerard can be called as the first witness to divulge where he got his info from. While we are at it, we can keep the inquiry going for a couple of months and sully the Saints and Cats image.
  4. I could live with the two Perth clubs winning this week.
  5. Correct. That is why I disagree with RPFC. My understanding is that they tally up what you lost and subtract what you gained and you are given a pick at the value of the difference. Maybe I have got it wrong though.
  6. Don't know enough about Kenendy and Garlett but what I have seen of Caddy doesn't thrill me.
  7. Well we have two other Queenslanders, Spencer and Bail. A 3 way deal could be on the cards as well.
  8. So hypothetically if we lost Beamer and Rivers and got no one back as a free agent we could get pick 5. Wow that could lead to manipulation by clubs.
  9. To throw in a bit more confusion WJ, I read this morning in the Age, that if for example Goddard went to the Bombers as a free agent, the Saints could get pick 13, the one after their pick 12 as compo. I thought the highest compo was a pick at the end of round 1. Which is the correct position? Could this lead to further draft manipulation?
  10. Could we vote on whether we have the poll to decide on having polls.
  11. Very sad. Sincerest condolences to family and friends.
  12. Cats are now interested in Caddy. Says they also have plenty of cash. Bombers also still keen. I think we would be long odds.
  13. Imagine for example you belong to the Melbourne Cricket Club and on TV and in print you call the club a "disgusting and pathetic club", don't you think your membership would be at risk. My view would be as a Committee member, that if you wish to harm the club, you don't deserve to be a member. I am not against freedom of expression but not at the acceptance of slander.
  14. Not sure I have seem many of our supporters post that we are a and I quote Sheahan's words, " disgusting and pathetic club". You might say that about our football this year, but not about the entire club and all the people who have and do belong to it.
  15. Did he say that Garry Lyon should have called Ross Lyon a liar, when he said he was staying at St.Kilda and that it was prudent of us to pay a Coach $1million a year, given we still had debt at the time.
  16. Agree. Tell him we don't need his money.
  17. Just saw the first quarter of Eagles final and I know it's tiresome, but I just swore at BP.
  18. It is becoming very clear that we will have a vastly different list by xmas. Perhaps a quarter may be turned over this summer and with more to go next year. MN will really stamp his list and one can imagine him having a big input to drafting/recruiting this season and next.
  19. While initially I thought, why, however on reflecting I can see why. No cost, fills a need for a year or two, experience in a strong culture, hungry to finish his career with more games and perhaps show some he still has it, pace and ability to kick a goal. Yes he might only be with you for a year, maybe two, but he brings qualities that we lack and he comes at no cost. If he shows some on our list the way to go about their football, that alone could be a big win.
  20. Agree. I would also ask, do we think Aaron would be happy to repeat this season or worse. He is proud and respect would lean to leaving a good memory of his time at the club, not playing at Casey or sitting in the stands the entire season. I could see him as an assistant coach/mentor for a couple of years and we could settle part of his contract now and the rest of it over a couple of years while he gets experience in coaching, to help him set up the rest of his life. That way he would be fully paid, have a job and be treated respectfully.
  21. Aaron was a good player for us for a number of years and while not hard, was immensely talented and quick. I spoke to him last year and he told me that he had an injured knee or leg, that had restricted his movement and affected his pace, his biggest asset. He seemed resigned to never regaining his best. I think the injury has worsened and I would not be shocked to hear that he will retire.
