  1. Terry Wallace said North would take anything for him, even 4th or 5th round picks.
  2. I would be shocked if Sellar was delisted. I thought he played pretty well this year and was versatile, playing in a number of positions. He was much better than I thought he would be.
  3. Agree Chippy. I have been saying that for months. Jamar gets tap out and it is a ballup.
  4. While I would be happy to let Gys go for a decent deal, I am warming to the idea of keeping him. He is clearly an accumulator of the ball but lacks in fitness, bulk and speed. Given that other clubs are not banging down our doors to get him, surely the penny is dropping that this may be his last chance to continue his AFL career. I would put it on him to work his arse off to improve his size and fitness and help him gain a yard in speed. We have the people to do it so it is up to him. I would also pair him with another player with the right attitude like Grimes or Trengove or Jones for the whole pre season. This is a great opportunity for Gys to become a good AFL player and if he hasn't got the required attitude he can wave his AFL career goodbye.
  5. We agree on Evans. I really am hopeful for him.
  6. If you could package another player or two and get 13 from GWS that would be great. Otherwise you would go to Saints and hope to get Ray and a pick for Pederson for North.
  7. Dale has been earmarked by the club for our last rookie spot as they have kept him under wraps and believe no one else knows about him. He will then be uplifted on the first long term injury. We have arranged a job for him at a wholesale fruiterer in the banana department. Things are looking good.
  8. Would prefer to keep Garland but otherwise I would be thrilled to do that deal. Jamar or Martin and Petterd and even Morton.
  9. MFC site in an article by Matt Burgan says we will remain an active player in trades. Clearly we will be only a minor player at the draft. JV, pick 4 and maybe 1 other will probably see us out on ND draft day.
  10. I need a drink to celebrate. Here goes another banana smoothie.
  11. And if he helps change the culture and win games, an even greater win. As a bonus maybe we will have fewer Caddy's who don't even want to talk to us.
  12. Heading out for dinner tonight with WJ. Should be able to spend 5 seconds discussing all the trades in the last few days.
  13. We are seeing murmurings on a thread that is headed crazy. Quite apt.
  14. Pies allegedly paying Dawes about $280k and have now got Lynch and thrown big bucks at Cloke and several others. He again allegedly, is told by Bucks and the club that he is free to look around. They need salary cap space. Eddie already referring to him as an ex player who is welcome back to the club after his footy career ends. So what does that all mean? It means they don't think much of him, except when it gets to letting him go. Suddenly he has become a star. A first round pick is not enough. Give us a break. The Pies may end up with a reputation like Essendon and Port.
  15. Whereas a few days ago I thought Wines was a lock if we wanted him, I am now not so sure. GWS has thrown a cat among the pigeons, with their offer of trading early picks. I don't think much will happen with that offer, as they will want stars from other clubs and it may be all show for the AFL, to demonstrate that they were willing to get older players, as the AFL intended, but that deals couldn't be done. However if they do manage a trade of picks 2 or 3 that may change the dynamic. While I am confident GWS would take Grundy and maybe Plowman or Toumpas, that might not happen if another club gets one of those picks. Interesting times ahead.
  16. If the AFL decide to take a player you get from say your best loss, or in our case Byrnes from Rivers, they dilute the pick you get. As you get 1 pick for each loss that is open to manipulation once again. If Byrnes is taken from Moloney or say Bate you may end up with a 3rd round pick and still get a much better pick for Rivers, which would be the desired result. You could end up with a couple of ordinary picks instead of 1 good one and an ordinary one. Why haven't they announced the formula for this?
  17. Funny thing is we will probably get the player we would take at 2 at 4 anyway.
  18. Ray's Manager says he expects him to stay with Saints. That might mean 1 less player we need to get rid of. Gysberts may be kept if no great offer.
  19. Ray's Manager says he expects him to stay with Saints.
  20. Ray's Manager says he expects him to stay with Saints.
  21. You could argue for Morton as an outside runner, but Gysberts is an inside mid with no speed or endurance.
  22. You might have the wrong bloke who did the convincing. Nevertheless it aint happening.
