  1. Won't even be a chance if we have to use 3 on JV.
  2. If so, hope Stevens is part of the deal, as they may be trading Cripps to WC.
  3. That will be nothing compared to how I will feel if we lose 3.
  4. Funny things happen in trade week. Unlikely but you never know. Clubs involved would be all getting what they wanted.
  5. Could this happen? "IF", we retain pick 3, meaning Viney goes to second round and Dogs as rumoured swap picks 5 & 6 for U17 pick 1, could we swap pick 3 for 5 & 6 with GWS and trade pick 4 for U17 pick 2. If we assume GC keep pick 2 and select Toumpas, my view is that GWS would be desperate to get Grundy to fill a major need. Pick 3 would probably get that done. 4 is more gold. Hypothetically that could give us something like Hogan, Wines, Stringer and Kennedy/MacRae etc plus Viney. That's 5 good players for 4 original picks. How good would that be as a start to rebuilding our list?
  6. Just give me time to get back from Court and get the computer fired up.
  7. Channel 7 news just said Dogs met with Dawes and have offered their second round pick. That is the opposition and the benchmark so far, if true. Our compo pick for Rivers/Moloney would be ahead of that and on the mark. Also gives much needed salary cap relief to Pies. Worsfold said he would try and get a deal done for Wellingham.
  8. I am looking forward to trade week far more that I am looking forward to 10 AM monday. I have no doubt we will take JV, but I am just fearful that we have lost pick 3. If so, I will be on here monday venting. On the other hand if JV slips to our second round, I will be first in line to congratulate our FD for a job well done.
  9. That would happen if GC retain the pick at draft time. Though there is speculation they are interested in MD pick 1 for Martin. Dogs rumoured to be prepared to offer 5 & 6 for MD 1. Suggestion that we could then swap 3 to GWS for 5 & 6 if Viney was ok for second round. GWS probably would want Grundy. We would lose Toumpas but could get MD pick 2 Hogan for 4 and have 5 & 6 for say Stringer and Kennedy and still have 13. We will have to see it play out.
  10. Now you are talking. The Pies want to get rid of Dawes' contract as they have salary cap problems. No one else is biting even the guy who needs a power forward most and knows him best, MM. What does that tell you? We take over his contract and either swap a Petterd or Martin or give our compo pick for Rivers/Moloney. That is it , end of story, or Pies can keep him. Maybe if through a deal Pies could get us Dawes and Stevens, I would consider 13.
  11. Thank God there are others who see the theft that this proposal would be against us if acted on. I am already starting to feel bile come up into my throat at the thought of it. Hopefully just papertalk and Sharrod doesn't like us anyway.
  12. Daylight saving and one hour less until we know JV's fate.
  13. I would be furious. 2 average players for a high pick. That pick is to be used for real special talent only. I could live with 13 for both. No one else wants Dawes and we seem to be treating him like he is Tippett.
  14. I suggest you read at least a couple of them and then you might not be so confused as you claim.
  15. I would be nothing short of furious if we gave a first round pick for Dawes. I would rather forget the whole thing.
  16. Where did I say wait until the draft? It has been said at least 100 times already that we will know Viney's fate at about 10.05 monday morning.
  17. Agree. 3,4,&13 don't even mention them. Swap for Martin or Petterd ok. Swap for compo pick we get for losing Rivers and Moloney if second round ok. He is worth far less than Wellingham and they are talking high second round and maybe Stevens. Dawes is not Tippett and I could see Fitzpatrick passing him in a year.
  18. Other way round. They call out the player's name and wait for a club to bid in draft order. If there is a bid, the father/son club then agrees to use its next normal pick or the club that bids has him. End of story. If no one bids at all you can take him with your last pick in the draft. Process for the 3 F/S players should take about 5 minutes all up. The interesting feature could be which player goes first.
  19. Don't forget they would still need $1m of salary cap room for the next 4-5 years, which they haven't got. Oh that's right, all his family and friends could work for Visy.
  20. I could have been anything too, unfortunately I was nothing.
  21. Will be pretty disappointing if the Premier lands the biggest fish in the off season. May have to pay some chips to get him but they will find a way. Probably throw in a burger.
