This site has so many threads now it is nearly unusable. We are getting threads on any thought that enters someones head. It is not a matter of being too lazy to trawl through threads, but rather people too lazy to post in a thread that covers their new thought. I can imagine the following threads as an example : 1. Should Pedersen be dropped 2. Should Pedersen have taken that mark. 3. Is Pedersen scared? 4. Pedersen was trying to tap the ball to a team mate. 5. Has Pedersen lost all confidence? 6. Should we have recruited Pedersen? 7. Did Pedersen play well other than the dropped mark? 8. Was Pedersen our worst player? 9. What is Pedersen's best position? 10. Can Pedersen play in the same side as Sellar when Jamar or Spencer plays? Plus another 100 threads all about Pedersen. This is the way the site is heading. Most of the threads revolve around last week's game and most could have easily been just posts, in a post game thread. The current situation is really putting me off the site. That is my opinion, you obviously disagree.

Has anyone been sacked yet. I am surprised that Rodan got dropped and not Byrnes. They both played poorly, but I thought Byrnes was far worse, in that he fumbled several times a few of which which led to Port goals. I still am not sure why we got him, there had to be better. Ben Warren who we discussed on here a bit would have been far better, much younger and quicker. I could never see the hunger for Pedersen. 2 games last year for the Roos and we were so desperate to get him. I suppose they all deserve another chance.

Is Kaspersky back as an MFC sponsor?

A Calendar of Incompetency - Patrick Smith
Redleg replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
And yet despite that pathetic record, we were the only team thought good enough to win but which tanked. -
I remember in 1981 we got the best Coach in the Country, our own Ron Barassi back and we won the spoon. After 5 years as Coach we were still crap. I will say this for the last time, players make the Coach. Get a decent list and we will improve even if Julia Gillard coached us. At the moment we have the worst list in the AFL. Pray to God that the new recruiting manager is good at his job, because the last one ( BP ) was hopeless.

Hands up all those who think we have a good midfield. Hands up all those who think we have a good list. Hands up all those who think we have good disposal. I think we are the worst in the AFL in all three areas. Who do I blame, I blame the recruiting manager over the last 5-6 years. I don't think any Coach can turn crap into cream. How was Clarkson going early on at the Hawks, hopeless, then came Buddy, Lewis, Cyril, Roughy, Hale, Gibson, etc etc etc, now he is a great Coach. Our recruiting has been littered with more abject failures than any other club. A half decent recruiter could have set us up with a competitive team, with all of the picks we have had.

I think they all will this week, courtesy of a Carey spray.

Pretty prophetic.

I can see Demonland going into meltdown if we put in a poor one. Saintsational is probably doing that right now.

I must admit I think Terlich was very stiff not to get in ahead of Tapscott. His form has been way ahead of Luke's this pre season.

Agree.

THE WILSON FILE - the arrogance at the heart of the innuendo

According to her standards she should be summarily sacked. -
I don't share your enthusiasm. We have 4 guys coming off a Casey game with only one playing well. At least 2 coming back from injury and underdone. A swag of first gamers. The weakest midfield in the AFL. 3 players who have shown nothing in the pre season at all (Gillies, Pedersen and Byrnes ). One win in the pre season, when both sides were made up of reserves players. Port far more impressive in the pre season. But then again.....................................

Magner is still a rookie, isn't he?
-
He has a nice smile. I haven't seen any football ability yet. Other than one game on you tube, has anyone?
-
Ah yes, I remember it well.

Sydney is said to have 1091000 supporters as of December 2012. No wonder we find it hard to compete with some of the AFL clubs in the membership/sponsorship race.

Agree.

You have the right not to read it if it is too inane for you. For what it is worth I thought it might be interesting to see if we could make up a team of former MFC players playing at other clubs. When I say Interesting I don't mean of course "Interesting to Everyone."
-
I think we will have between 6-8 new players.
-
Looking like we will have more new players in our first game than any other side. Tigers had one and Blues none. While in time they will add to our side, it might be hard early on, to gel quickly enough to win.
-
I was only interested to see how many former MFC players were currently on other lists. Getting close to a full team. I am not sure if any other club has more of its former players on other club lists. Make of it what you will.

Thanks Biff I have amended team. Will keep amending as new names come up.

Mohr Warnock Silvagni Cheney Rivers Bennell Morton Thompson Gysberts McLean Martin Petterd Jolly Moloney Scully These are former MFC players and one Casey player currently at other clubs. I am sure I have forgotten some others.
