  1. They are rumoured to be using their picks on Martin.
  2. Speculation of Dogs giving 5 & 6 to GWS and getting a pick or player back, plus first MD pick. Further that Dogs would then go for Martin. In fact they may go for Hogan as they also need a KPF. Whoever they take, what would that then value MD pick 2 at. Pick 4 is better than either 5 or 6 but clearly not as good as both but need to deduct what comes back their way. Pick 4 is better than anyone other than GC could give. MD 2 is clearly less than MD 1. I think this will make for an interesting negotiation. Could we offer 4 for MD 2 with something back our way? It will also depend on Dogs letting us know who they will take with MD 1, so we can value MD 2. Side benefit is that GWS knowing we are interested but only if Viney goes later so we can still use 3. Downside may be that we are giving pick 4 now on a player who can't play for a year and might actually slide in his own draft year making it a big overpayment. Oh the fun of being a Recruiter and List Manager.
  3. I also saw it last night and I thought the show was good. Robbo did well. They covered Ron's life pretty well and it was entertaining. Only part I didn't like was when Ron put on that filthy blue jumper. I would recommend footy fans see it. Also the Bistro next door was nice and order the gnocchi it was great.
  4. I see there is another thread on the show but for readers of this one, I thought the show was good. Robbo did well. They covered Ron's life pretty well and it was entertaining. Chris Connolly and a number of staff there last night including Ellie McKenzie. Chris told me the list and recruiting people were very busy at the moment.
  5. It certainly seems that a lot of what we are tryng to do now, is to catch up because of poor past drafting. We are not maiking talent the main aim we are seeking recycled strong bodies. As an example only, BP didn't like the small forward. Who is the first player added this year? Who else do we have in that role?.
  6. Seeing the show Barassi tonight. Will give a report tomorrow.
  7. I thought Banfield wasn't a bad player. Seems to have been overtaken. Might be worth looking at if a very late pick.
  8. Agree. Looks to readers like he is a bit [censored] with the club, because they haven't guaranteed to take him and he is telling them take me or lose me. Throws the cat among the pigeons.
  9. He didn't, Jay Clark did. Your point is well made however.
  10. The AFL has hit a winner with this month long rumour fest. The publicity generated is keeping footy at the forefront in the off season.
  11. I won't lose any sleep over that. Means we are less likely to be stupid giving a high draft pick. Now we can look at a player swap for Dawes. Who do Pies want, that's right a ruckman forward?
  12. The Western Bulldogs had asked about Dawes’ status in recent weeks, but their interest has not yet significantly advanced on that. Carlton, Richmond and St Kilda all said they would not pursue Dawes. Read more: http://www.theage.co...l#ixzz28Hc9qdZb Pies options for a deal are decreasing. Very interesting that his former Coach is not interested and yet his club is desperate for a power forward. What does that tell you? If Wellingham prefers the West, I can see a player swap for Dawes. Pick 4 and Dawes should never be mentioned in the same sentence and I apologize for doing so.
  13. I just get the feeling that we will want one of Toumpas or Grundy. Your scenario would rule that out. What if we offered 13 plus a player, say Petterd for Caddy and maybe Toy and maybe a swap of draft picks after the second round. That way your scenario of pick 4 for MD pick is more likely, with maybe GWS giving their second round pick to us. The permutations can give you a migraine. It seems like GC want to keep pick 2 and yet have ruled out two players Crows would want in exchange. Maybe that is posturing and pick 13 and a player would get their deal done. At the end of the day I just want us to come out saying we had a great October, because we certainly had a pathetic April-August.
  14. Just like every other payer that goes to a club plays there for life.
  15. Interesting that the Sun article says that GWS has decided not to nominate JV and take Whitfield. It also says that no club has had to pay a top 10 pick for a F/S before. It would be typical if we had to and lose pick 3. IMO GC are convinced we will take JV whatever, despite the huffing and puffing. Knowing that, it would be a spiteful decision to nominate him. One can only imagine the reaction of Eddie if it was a Pies F/S. BB is correct, every team is trying to do the best deal for itself. I just hope we end up doing a deal to protect pick 3. I am convinced that is what GC are angling at. I just hope we don't stuff this up and lose pick 3.
  16. I've said Suns since the story broke and I am not changing.
  17. I have so much on my mind, I am getting a migraine and will surely not sleep until the rookie draft is over in December. Some of the issues I am dealing with are: will JV get through to the second round, will we get Dawes, Wellingham, Stevens, Caddy, Pedersen, Rodan, Jacobs, Butcher, Salopek, Byrnes, Young, etc, will we lose Martin, Rivers, Moloney, Morton, Petterd, Spencer, Cook, Davis, Bennell, Bate, Dunn, Sylvia etc, will we get anything for Jurrah, what compo will we get for Rivers, Moloney and Bate, will we trade for Hogan, will we draft Toumpas , Grundy, Kennedy, MacRae, Stringer, Mayes, Wines, Jaksch etc. This a nightmare..
  18. That of course is the opposite of another post, where he has said recently he will do whatever it takes to be a regular at the MFC.
  19. What are you talking about? Since when does 13 plus a sweetener ( Petterd ) become 4 plus Petterd.
