Today 's Australian says we are looking at AFL man Matthew Drain as the head of football. He has wide experience at several clubs and in a number of different roles. He would also probably have the AFL 's blessing bringing us closer to much needed financial and draft assistance.
-
Good idea, we use the Hawks membership numbers rort. Yes we sign up our Alpacas, budgies, turtles, hamsters etc and suddenly we are a major club again. Sponsors will see us worthy of of their sponsorship dollars with our huge data base. The AFL will once again see us as the major club we once were. I will even join up my pet cockatoo with the loud screechy voice, who we named Kennett.
-
See, when we all put out heads together we can come up with these great ideas to save the club.
-
CS never was able to implement his Red and Blueprint. We should be able to implement my Blue and Redprint. It is far simpler and doesn't dwell on our history.

I think we need to change the MCG seats to banana lounges. We will steer away from pies and chips and sell banana fritters, banana splits, banana bread and cake, banana mousse, duck a la banana sandwiches and washed down with those healthy banana smoothies. I will get the trumpeter to play the banana boat song and have the bananas in pyjamas selling raffle tickets at the games.Every new member will get a free banana . I will get this club moving again.

Do you reckon I will get a gong for being MFC President?
-
I can. Brogan will retire and they have only Giles left. Jamar would be a big get for them as I can't see them getting Leuenberger, who they want. Gawn, Spencer, Fitzy in the ruck with Sellar and Pedersen pinch hitting and maybe with Mitch for a few minutes here and there. Also we could rookie another young ruckman.
-
I just noted that he was continually being asked whether the Saints are rebuilding and he finally admitted they were. That of course only happens, when you are at the wrong end of the ladder.
-
Agree. That is where we are and what we have to do though.
-
Scott Watters now has finally used the dreaded "rebuild" word, in respect to the Saints who sit just above us on the ladder.
-
Maybe Kennett could stand for President of the Burwood chapter of the Australian Alpaca Association.

Rally at Gosch's Paddock - Pre Queens Birthday Round
Redleg replied to Longsufferingnomore's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just back from training. Players looked ok. Spoke to Jack Grimes who should be right after next 3 games. Met Longsuffering, Saty, Rusty and Nineteen. Spoke to Jack Grimes dad Steve and there is another brother coming through. He said Dylan would love to play with Jack at the Dees if the Tigers ever let him go. He is however happy at the Tigers. Spoke to Josh Mahoney who impressed the need for Dees fans to come to the game. Hopefully we get a decent crowd. At least it will be a nice day. -
Partially, yes. You can't persist with non AFL standard players and expect to do well.
-
Titan, clearly I am not suggesting we could get a Cotchin, or a Watson or an Ablett, but rather a player who would be in our best 22 but might not be in his side's, or is after a bit more security.. You look at Josh Kennedy going from the Hawks to the Swans, I need say no more. There must be a few of those types of players out there. They need to be identified and targetted. If we could get a couple and then the best two mids in the draft and then a few more later and hope for improvement in JV,Toumpas, Taggart etc we would improve quickly. Hogan, Clark and Grimes back and a small forward and things are really changing. It would be difficult but not impossible. The real hard thing would be getting a couple of mids from other clubs. The rest is there before us.

Kennett has said our Coach must go. He has tonight threatened the elected Board and CEO and warned them not to pick a new Coach. This from a Hawks supporter and non MFC member, who is therefore ineligible to stand for the MFC Board. This self promoting, arrogant piece of work, is telling the elected board of the club and its officials not to go on with its business, because he may at some stage stand for election. What an absolute disgrace. We all want a unified club. It would be impossible under this bloke.

Young talent: do NOT trade pick #2
Redleg replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think we will have PP1 and pick 2 or 3. -
Do Alpacas like bananas?
-
If MN has lost the players then it is a non negotiable. On the other hand I am not sure he can coach anyway and I am not alone in that view. Our performance under him has been deplorable.
-
No it's not. Casey Scorpions 5.3.33 9.7.61 14.11.95 21.15.141 Collingwood 2.1.13 3.3.21 5.6.36 7.9.51
-
We will not lose it, especially next year. The AFL cannot be seen to be destroying any hopes for our future at this time.
-
It's all realistic, just a matter of picking up the right people/ players.
-
It's not full yet.
-
We accept. I will get old 55 " on the prowl".
-
BB you are a man ahead of your time. I have a role for you in my new admin. You will find me a great President to work under.
