  1. Sorry I misunderstood. Then I agree with your support.
  2. Do you honestly believe that we were fined because of the loose lips of CC's vault joke? You would have to know that the AFL didn't want to be seen as stupid and lose face after a 6 month persecution and find nothing. So it fined us $500k for a joke, get real ! You also know that the Inquiry was dead on it's feet in about October, until a rat dogged on us and restarted it, he is the loose lips. I suppose I shouldn't forget that CC was a friend of Jim Stynes and that clearly has a bearing on your view of him. Don't bother replying/lecturing me on this subject, I don't need it and we will never agree on this topic. Anyway this issue is over as far as I am concerned. PS. I do agree with you on some other matters, especially that this administation has been less than brilliant.
  3. Let me state my position again before I post, CC is a mate of mine. That said let me state the following: Chris bore the brunt of the tanking punishment and we all know he is not the only one who had to be involved. He did so without recrimination. He has lost a year's salary as a result. He has a family to support. He has been removed from the football side. He is now in the marketing/membership/fundraising side. He is good at his role. He also does a lot of the community work and he is good at that as well. He is great with people and getting them involved with the MFC. He is a former player who cares a lot about this club. He wants to see this club successful again and has suffered like few others as a result of the last few years. I would be more likely to donate again if asked by Chris, someone who knows me and how I feel about the MFC, than some new kid I have never met before and who will leave as soon as he is offered a new job. You want to build culture, you don't burn the CC's of this world. You use them to the best of their ability as part of the rebuild of this fractured club.

  5. Agree, see my post 29.
  6. Agree. Perhaps that should read 4-5 imports.
  7. I understand that, but I was referring to the actual players we got as PP's. It has been suggested in the media that because we stuffed up our PP's we shouldn't get more. I was demonstrating that we actually haven't.
  8. To be fair and do an analysis of the PP's we have had, Sylvia is still with us and is a fair player, Blease is not a failure yet and if he can get his engine up, could be good and T$ is the second highest paid player in the AFL and was pinched from us by the lure of an astronomical amount of AFL funded money and a disgusting new AFL rule. . I don't think anyone could argue we have stuffed up our PP's. As for the rest of our drafting, it has been abysmal and you know how angry I am with BP.
  9. I can hear the arteries closing up.
  10. For those interested, Briefed is running in Race 7 at Sandown Saturday. He likes it wet and more rain is predicted.
  11. That is one of the most stupid football articles I have ever read. The logic is moronic. Another argument he should have, would be that, as we have played many games and lost most, we don't deserve a PP because we had the chance to win games and failed to do so.
  12. BB, could you refresh my memory on the several priority draft picks you mentioned we got. I can recall the T$ one and I am not sure if Sylivia was one, but can't recall any others. Also, don't the generous handouts go to several clubs, including the Visy mob and aren't they to do with some sort of equalization, because of poor fixtures generously handed out by the AFL.
  13. I am currently working on the Australian Banana Board to sponsor us. We could also make millions, selling banana smoothies at games, instead of beer.
  14. Agree.
  15. Pretty much the same as you.
  16. Vodka, Baccardi, Kahlua, Baileys,Tia Maria.
  17. You could ask the AFL to let us take him now under the mercy rule.
  18. For what it is worth I will share this piece of useless info, I have never had a full shot of scotch, cognac, brandy or a full glass of champagne. I have only tried them and disliked them and never repeated the exercise.
  19. Have you tried other spirits?
  20. Saw the last round of 1997 between us and Freo on Fox Footy the other day and we belted them. We had a crap season and they were going for the finals. Look at the two clubs now, it's so sad.
  21. There was an interesting side put up on one of the footy shows, showing the nucleus of a side and gaps to be filled. I think it was something like this: Terlich Frawley Garland Watts McDonald Grimes Toumpas Jones Blease Howe Dawes Sylvia Clark Hogan Trengove Gawn Viney Extras M.Jones, Fitzy, Taggert, Tynan, Davey, Strauss, Dunn, etc, etc. It doesn't look too bad on paper, actually just bad on grass.
  22. We have had this argument on other threads and I am completely in the drafting camp. We stuffed up our drafting like no other club. Mistake after mistake.
  23. I have never done this before, but on sunday, after about the first 20 minutes of the game, I fast forwarded to half time, watched a bit of the third quarter and then deleted the game, including the last quarter. It is deplorable that any enjoyment of football has been taken from us.
