Peter Jackson: review of the board coming ...
Redleg replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks WJ that was very informative. -
"Prior to the former Victorian premier vacating his six-year role at Hawthorn, he said: "I'd love the challenge of restructuring their business and getting the model right, but I've said no. I've got brown and gold in my veins and I've got to say it wouldn't feel right to be at another club." From the Australian today.

I would prefer to embrace your avatar.

Agree. He also called for Clarkson to go after round 1. How stupid does that call look now? He has also tried to get rid of Clarkson previously, the guy we wanted when we got MN.
-
Are you on drugs? I simply expressed my opinion, sorry about that. Does that make me biased? PS. What if PJ won't work with JK?
-
My God your avatars, who cares what you say.

Peter Jackson: review of the board coming ...

Our fish will have a new head soon. -
I'll back PJ over JK. Things are starting to happen, let them. We will have new people running things at the MFC, let's not sabotage that. PS. JK called for Clarkson to go after round 1, us to merge and/or be relocated as well. He is not a MFC member and is a lifelong Hawk. Says it all for me.

Kevin Rudd has just announced he wants to lead the MFC.
-
You know I was being sarcastic. I wasn't disgusted at the manipulating, only that I wanted my team to lose. Anyway that has been done to death, sorry for raising it again.
-
Trust me I am used to different opinions, I read Demonland.
-
But then he "frittered" away an election and "split".
-
I think it is MN's fault.
-
What in hell does Kennett know about bananas?
-
That's very funny, one poster slams Don for not responding and another slams him for responding. Love Demonland.

Rally at Gosch's Paddock - Pre Queens Birthday Round
Redleg replied to Longsufferingnomore's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'll try to get there. I need a bit of Saty's positive outlook. -
Yes, that would be like tanking. Surely no one could want to lose, just to get draft picks for the long term benefit of their club.
-
Agree. This has some serious undertones to me. A non MFC supporting Board that merges us or leaves Victoria in line with maybe an AFL direction, could be catastrophic. I could probably live with Jeff as a non voting Chairman in some form, as long as all of the necessary safeguards were in place, that would stop any major change that would be against the interests of the members. FWIW he is not even a member and may be ineligible as a result. One other little matter, what if he can't get on with PJ, that alone could be catastrophic. No, there are other people who support the club that would be available and apparently Freeman has been brought on board for that purpose. I would pass on this one. Self promotion if you ask me, or some hidden agenda.

I think you mean CEO.

I see 3 issues as at the heart of our problem. The first I am certain of, the next two I think are possibly correct. 1. We have a pathetic midfield. 2. MN has lost the players. 3. MN can't coach an AFL side. PS. In the last 18 months I have not seen any evidence to refute the 3 propositions.
-
Do you really believe that? Ablett, Watson, Cotchin, Rioli. Of course 4 players could change our fortunes.
-
Tommy Hafey. Can still do a hundred push ups in his 80's.
-
It's easy, they are full of crap.

Good post. Gysberts, Morton, Bennell and Petterd or Byrnes, Rodan, Gillies and Pedersen ( 3 year contract ). I know which group I would rather have. That doesn't mean the group I keep will get us a flag either, it's just that the former group has more upside.

Would have made a good MFC Board member.
