Bit left field here, but I wonder if with 3 established ruckmen next year and another just added, plus another I think on their list, would the Dockers see Hannath as surplus. If we still wanted him and if they don't, we could do a deal with the Dockers to delist him, on the basis we PSD or rookie him and take up his contract payment. Then again if we don't want him or they do, it's all over. Nicholson could be delisted and taken back as a rookie if we wanted to use our PSD pick, which I hope we do, if there is a better player available.

One thing we can be sure of in life, every year all AFL clubs are thrilled on draft night, with the boys they drafted.

I think some on here have taken Taylor's words in the wrong context. I don't think he is saying he is confident of getting one particular targetted player at each selection, but rather that he has a group of players in the mix for each selection and that he will get one of that group, at each pick. Therefore I don't think you can draw the conclusion that we are picking someone from left field for each selection or who is thought not to be in the mix for that particular selection.

So far there are four of us. Can make a booking, though I hardly think we will need one, closer to wednesday. How does 6.30 sound?

Having considered this issue for a while I am on the side of those who feel they were too young. To be a captain at such an early age you have to be nearly a superstar on the ground first and have no issues about your own game, so that you can help and rally others. When you are not playing well or injured and very young, the task IMO is too much, as it was in this case. I think both boys didn't play to their ability and Captaincy was one of the factors. That then affects the whole team.

We are clearly not wishing to show our hand with our permission to train list. Last year we lost Hannath after he trained with us. Don't think we would devastated to lose Jetta.

Have heard a whisper that Dogs are looking at Bontempelli. If they take him, Aish could slide to 6 and then it gets very interesting. If Lions then take the tall forward you could have Scharenberg, Freeman and Salem all there at 9.

Last year we had hannath train with us and then get pinched. This year we have only Jetta who the other clubs know and who we would not be shattered to lose to another club. I think we will be raiding a couple of other clubs training invitees.

Good get. What about "Salem Burning" as a headline. Or "Salem Hangs around until pick 9". Or "Salem casts a spell over Demons".

You can probably exclude a few more as it is pretty certain Kelly, Billings and Kade K. will be gone before 9. I am pretty confident Aish will be as well. That if I am correct is 6/9 picks accounted for. That means that there are two picks that could affect our thinking. I see Brisbane and Collingwood as the clubs we are not 100% sure of. Anyway it is all conjecture and draft fun.

This is turning into a very interesting early draft, whereas it looked a little while ago, to be set in stone.

Denham slammed us in the paper for trading a Brownlow medallist in Kelly. He has him already winning one. He says every other club's recruiter says we were mad with our trade. That is not the case, as I spoke to another official of another club whose recruiter disagrees and doesn't have Kelly in his best three mids. Another trashing of us by Denham.
