  1. Would you buy another if he helped us win a flag? PS. I am not advocating getting him.
  2. The media are extremely selective in what they push or ignore. For example, a missed free or goal in an Essendon or Pies game, gets more coverage than some major world events do. When you are down or not a big club, what happens to you will be largely ignored. As an example, I re watched the Freo game and in the last quarter Roos and Dwayne must have mentioned the Dockers being 2 men down at least 20 times, to justify us being a chance of winning, yet in the Blues game when we were 3 down, it was mentioned once in the last quarter as I recall. Poor umpiring is highlighted against the bigger clubs and ignored against the smaller ones. We got 3 frees paid and an out on the full in the first half against the Tigers, who got 12 frees, but it was not mentioned, even though several decisions were blatantly wrong. That is what is meant when people like Caro say we are irrelevant. We actually don't stand up for ourselves and highlight it in the media, say at after match press conferences, like the bigger clubs do. They use the media to push the argument, we don't. On the other hand, winning changes a lot.
  3. Gee, they have really improved St Kilda beach.
  4. Oh, I am sure your family are very proud of you.
  5. Better get back to last year's first 2 finals form then.
  6. I want Frost to stay. Had his best year with us and can get better. Saved a stack of goals this year and if he can eliminate a couple of mistakes a game, he is a very valuable player for us.
  7. Saints into Hill as well. Actually they are probably into everyone.
  8. “He is one of my best mates and it has been a privilege to work so closely with him.” The pair have formed a tight relationship during their time together, as McCartney helps bring the best out of those around him. “The impact that Macca has had on the entire football department, including the playing group, has been profound,” Goodwin said. “He is an incredible person and the club has been extremely lucky to have someone of his calibre.” Think this puts to bed that he wasn't getting on with the Coach. I also believe that this is Brendan's choice and he is looking for a change, so not a bad move by the MFC at all.
  9. I would call in the AFL integrity officer. Oh sorry I forgot, the AFL has no integrity.
  10. Not quite.
  11. That’s why you don’t trade high picks when class players are available.
  12. Yes, but I am forbidden from saying or writing his name. See OP on No T$ no BS thread.
  13. Only O’Meara and Burgoyne, of that group were injured, when taken by the Hawks.
  14. I can hear the howling already, but Oscar wasn’t that bad last year and in those first 2 finals. I wonder if there is a reason we don’t know about, why he has been so poor this year. I would still like to see him put on 6-8 kgs of muscle over summer and maybe have a go up forward before we give up on him. I recall many had Frost delisted last year and he has improved quite a bit this year. In a settled back 6, which we haven’t had all year, he would be even better.
  15. That would be so typical of our year. We have pick 2, but lose it to GC for a priority pick that had virtually been discontinued by the AFL over the last few years. We should be lobbying against it. When we really needed a pp, we were denied one in a couple of our really bad years, most likely because of the tanking fiasco. I recall several in the media, led by Caro, arguing against a badly needed pp for us because of the tanking fiasco. Also we are ranked 16th in Under 23 talent on lists while GC are ranked 7th. Who needs young talent more, then or us? They need a couple of experienced players and some help with their FD and salary cap. What’s next for us in this great season?

I’m with Dazzle on Petty. He is our current best chance of a 3rd key forward and is still very young and raw. Imagine another 20 games and 5-6 kgs of muscle, with another pre season and you will have a good footballer. He can take a big grab and needs to improve his set shots and he will be ok for us.
  17. I wonder what Barrett was getting at when he wrote on the AFL website that Melbourne might have some ugly problems that can’t be fixed over pre season.
  18. Maybe he prefers ANB at CHB.
  19. One of the funnier posts of the year. Got me laughing.
  20. I believe we have our eyes on an assistant boot studder.

Can it be carb heavy soup?
  22. He was last year and I was pushing him hard on DL, for whatever that is worth ( nothing ). Probably ungettable now.
  23. Agree WJ. He appeared to bask in the success of last year and now appears to be distancing himself from any blame, if there is any. As to the different forward line last year, you can add Melksham missing at least 10 games so far and a complete loss of form and then injury to Jeffy. If he just said we have been terrible this year it would be undeniable, but brand is BS. Have the Pies lost their brand in the last 6 weeks, or is their brand protected by injuries?
  24. The brand criticism is BS. What is a club’s brand? Wins/losses however is fact. Ladder position is fact.
