I got a laugh out of a security guard yesterday, when I asked if I could be evicted for what I am thinking about the umpires.
  2. Oh well they have kept their parkland and they can watch their dogs deposit presents on it for others to step in.
  3. I did say in my last point that fans should not get personal. While "spud" is not a nice description, it is a description of football ability and not the person himself. To be honest saying someone's footy ability is pathetic or hopeless is about the same, but again they are descriptions of performance not the person. These guys know that they will be criticized even at games and they need first to not read fan sites and second if they do, laugh at them and not take them seriously. That is what they are continually advised. It is good advice. All sports people and public figures know that criticism comes with their position. PS. Sorry to those wanting scores, no more on this topic from me on this thread. Go Casey Demons.
  4. Aren't the State Government looking at that over the rail lines, from Flinders Street to near the G?
  5. Thanks DD as one of his biggest supporters ( see my stunned posts when people called for his delisting ), I am thrilled that he is doing so well. He can still make a blue or two on disposal, but he is saving us repeatedly now and with his pace and unpredictability, he is a nightmare for the opposition.
  6. Agree and he is rock hard. Looking forward to seeing him play after a full pre season and with most of our better players available around him. We have also found a hbf in Hore, hopefully a winger in Baker and a key back or forward in Petty and definitely a top key back in May.
  7. First, this is a fan site and fans comment on their club and everything about it. Second, fans have varying opinions on players. Third, players are told not to read these sites for their own benefit. Fourth, these players are professionals, getting paid to play and they are well advised by their families, friends, coaches and managers that they will be subjected to criticism. Fifth, being former fans themselves, the players know these sites can contain praise and criticism. Sixth, players are big and smart enough to listen to their coaches and not fans on sites anyway. Seventh, if you are that worried about players being affected by ignoring the club's advice and then reading these sites and then believing what they read, maybe you could suggest on here that we only post nice comments all the time. That should make it a nice place to come for the players and enthralling reading for the Demonlanders. Last, while I try to not be too negative, in the case of a minority of players I can't help it. If a player IMO is just not up to AFL standard or plays a terrible game, I think we have the right to say that, without getting personal and just assessing their footy ability or performance.
  8. But there was no loss of parkland.
  9. You are welcome and hello to all those who wanted Frost out of the club. Agree on Petty too.
  10. JKH is a better footballer than ANB. While no star, he can mark, handball and kick, which ANB can't. I am stunned he is being given a 2 year deal. Lockhart and Corey Wagner are now ahead of him IMO.
  11. Bentleigh club says hi!
  12. That hasn’t worked either.
  13. Club have gone very quiet about this. Hope they are working on something.

Continues the trend of us fielding well below our best side each week, while the opposition field close to their strongest side. Then to rub salt into the wound, the opposition lose their best players against us, making it easier for their next opponents to beat them. Add that to our pathetic skills and you have season 2019.

I put the bad behaviour of fans at AFL matches down to a shortage of bananas at AFL venues. Banana smoothies instead of beer would improve crowd behaviour no end.
  16. That is interesting. The midget Spargo has taken 23 marks to ANB 9 in the same amount of games.

You may laugh at this but I think he will get 1-2 weeks for each incident. Both are a bad look for the game. The stomp could have caused a serious injury and Christian loves that category and the pinching did cause an injury and it was repeated. If Stratton thinks that is acceptable in footy he is a fool.
  18. We have also copped teams at their strongest with us weakened by injuries. Look at Crows, Eagles, Tigers, Saints and Dons sides recently for example.
  19. T Mac will not be dropped, but he should be managed/rested for the rest of the season. We need him fit and firing next season desperately.
  20. Not sure Tim Smith will either. We may look at Petty as a forward and Joel Smith to be back next year.
  21. Basically agree.
  22. Spoke to a former athlete today, whose father was a world champion runner and he agrees with my other mate, that it is most likely a fitness issue. Easily scored goals in the second half of games, together with poor kicking from us, suggests tiring players. Injuries of course also affect the team and then a loss of confidence, that can run through the side, does as well. What I still can't come to grips with, is the total lack of ability to pass a ball accurately by hand or foot and to mark it, even early in games.
  23. No, it is Misson’s fault, he should have wrapped him in glad wrap and kept him isolated and quarantined between training and games. Basic stuff. If he didn’t have glad wrap he could have used bubble wrap or covered him in paper mache. Lets get professional.

You have to wonder at people who are in charge of a game plan that is clearly not working, yet refuse to accept that they might be wrong and continually, merely say we have to get better at it, instead of looking at using another game plan that might be better for us.
  25. Terry Wallace just said what a few of us on DL have said and that is start planning for 2020. Anyone injured should be rested and if operations are needed they should be done now. Get everyone fit and ready to go next year and maybe some tinkering with the game plan. Get more games into the newer players and it will stand the club in good stead next year, with a softer draw as a bonus. Of course you still try and win, but not at the expense of next year.
