I would have thought after 8 AA’s and what he has gone through ,Max was a pretty obvious choice for his leadership, but if not him then Dawson would have been the one. They have actually denigrated that part of the AA team. But it is the AFL and they get a lot wrong.

Curnow 29 before next season, is 2 years older than McLean and 4 years older than Campbell. Curnow can be flaky and put in poor games as we have seen. He has had injuries too.
