We have 2 firsts and 2 seconds next draft and you could be pretty safe in thinking we will target another Kozzie type and a couple of inside mids.

But some of them might not make it.

Yes I know. We certainly have come a long way. Senior flag, Casey flag, AFLW flag and a strong list in each club going forward. More flags and a new club training/home and we are in a great position for continued success.

We made a bad mistake this season, in not keeping the team fresh, like the Cats did and it cost us, with our team being completely banged up by finals time. We have depth and maybe a smarter use of the list will help us next season. With a good injury run, some players are going to get limited games, but that is the way of successful teams these days. Tomlinson for example, was unwanted by other clubs, so he plays his time at Casey, unless an opportunity arises. He and Joel Smith for example, won’t be with us in 2 years, so the evolution of the list continues.

Wouldn’t see being on an AFL list, but playing for Casey, for a few years, as a problem, for a kid who probably never thought he would be at an AFL club.

Apparently he is very good at hosting kicking footies into buckets and sprinting along the boundary line at the G contests.

And the club chasing him dumped his good mate. I think we will go for the better player and without knowing anything, other than what I have read, I think Turner would get the nod if one of them is to be taken by us. We are in a great position now, having ruck and key position depth, so that in next year's draft and trade period, we can target another goal kicking small forward as well as the best available talent.

AFL membership is now great value, with 9 games interstate or at Geelong. So probably restricted to 13 games at most. That is the most interstate games I can recall, plus the dump in Geelong.

No need to look at a fixture to know that. We are doomed to play there every year forever. We have avoided Kardinia Park once or twice in the last 30 years. Now that we have a much larger membership, the excuse for it is long gone.
