  1. Well in a defamation suit, while I am not an expert, I thought damages to a large degree centre around lost income. I don’t think given his contract, he could demonstrate much lost earnings. I don’t think pain and suffering is a big component in Australia, but maybe I am wrong on that.
  2. Who are our very tall forwards, other than BBB who is at Casey.
  3. Presumably they think he might have gone by our msd pick and they see a future for him. We haven’t really seen much as he has been injured. Would you say the same about Verrall?
  4. So would Weid.
  5. 2 of those could be gone next year and another pre season and weights etc, could see him add some more muscle, which will help his development.
  6. I am 71, have loved the game and especially the MFC, since I was about 5 and I am now at the stage, where I only want to go to games, to be with my kids and grandkids. I detest what I see happening to the game, which is run imo purely for money. People are ripped off at every turn by the AFL. AFL members are forced to pay $10.00 on top of membership for a seat at the G, for many games, instead of just being allowed to walk up. The fixturing is completely unfair and of its own, makes the whole competition a compromised sport. The umpiring is inconsistent. The MRO and Tribunal are a joke. The media because of accreditation are sycophants, too scared to report honestly. Everything is a deal, or fixed by a deal. Players now are unsure how to play the game and as an example, against Freo, I watched Melbourne players actually hesitate before going for the ball or tackling. Games being played on school nights, so families are denied the ability of attending. Blasting music so loud you can’t talk to people next to you. Excessive Politicising of the game. My love of the game has been severely diminished by its administrators, who couldn't run a BBQ without giving everyone food poisoning. I detest the direction of the game, that these people have taken it in and I am not referring to efforts to make it safer. Yes they have improved the viewing facilities, with some new grounds and refurbishments, but they have imo achieved little else. At least I have my memories of hard, tough, skillful footy, umpired reasonably, with penalties at Tribunals that were pretty consistent and people loving the game and actually living for it.
  7. That's what I said.
  8. Yes, but I was referring to him getting off at the Tribunal, because he was charged with striking with the wrong forearm, even though they can amend, they let him off a couple of weeks ago.
  9. As a lawyer, if I do any more criminal matters, my clients will be dressed in Carlton jumpers, because then you clearly can’t be guilty. Seriously, I said in another post that this guy simply makes it up. Pin arms, don’t pin arms, injury, no injury, hit head, don’t hit head, sling, don’t sling, drive into ground, don’t drive into ground, duty of care, no duty of care, possibility of injury, reasonable player, no reasonable player, aggressive action, not aggressive action and tonight’s new reason, long hair of the victim makes it look worse than it is. How can you not ridicule this system and the people running it.
  10. Cripps, Hewitt and now Cerra. Are we surprised?
  11. Blues will be whipped up into a frenzy Friday, with all the [censored] going on. Pies sick a week too early.
  12. Expect him to be a sub twice more this year.
  13. Yes we would probably ask the question. I see him as very similar to Fritta.
  14. Agree he is better than Smith, but he won't be cheap, either in contract, or trade price. PS: When we were ordinary, I would have grabbed anyone who has played footy, but now we need to be very careful and selective with who we add to the list.
  15. He could possibly help, but you are adding another not big key forward, to a side that needs them. We really need a 25 year old Tom Lynch, more than anything. Then Roo and Fritta could compliment him. Possibly our best hope would be Verrall in the next few years.
  16. No from me. Tom Mac size. We need a Lynch type. 12 possession average this year. 28 start of next season and will will want a long contract at big money.
  17. I can see it now. Tribunal sums up after allowing the appeal, that no reasonable person or footballer, could have foreseen, that a smaller player, dragging a bigger player to the ground, would cause the bigger player to hit his head on the ground twice and that after all, he really didn't mean to do it and he is sorry.
  18. You and me both. Do we honestly believe Roo or Tom being pushed, grabbed and 2 teamed, are going to consistently mark big bombs? Also our small forwards seem to be off the boil too. How many goals did the Dockers get from a chip pass?
  19. Understand your op, but there is a wide range of ages, personalities and character types on here, who will react differently to different situations. We are rarely that good or that bad. Footy fan forums exist to voice opinions, which will vary in the extreme. Personally, I haven’t given up, far from it, but that doesn’t mean I can’t post on what I see happening from week to week, same as many others. We have areas to work on and fans have every right to discuss those, without personal abuse of course. Andy would be furious if no one posted and DL would be very shallow if it just reported team changes.
  20. If we could have had a normal disposal efficiency yesterday of say 78%, instead of 66%, we would have won well, We can work on that, by decision making changing. Less bomb, more pass.
  21. It’s not Griffiths, as we have had a good injury run and we have won most last quarters so far and are still running at the end of games. It is skill, speed, game plan, attitude and ineffective clearances and a non settled forward line.
