Lachie Hunter Loses Bid To Overturn 1 Week Suspension
Redleg replied to Monbon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Umpires would have reversed it and paid a front on charge. They might have at the same time, also rung the interchange stewards, to see if Melbourne were over the 75 limit, so they could give a free and 50 to Port. -

I think clubs pay their own costs. It’s another way of eating into FD allowance and income. -

Can’t wait for the Tribunal genius to say at the Tribunal hearing, that Hunter in a split second, should have realised, that standing still had the potential to injure, without suggesting what he should have done instead. I still think the contact was to the chest as well. I hope we can also show the Rankine and Hayward incidents and ask if the Tribunal see them as different to the Hunter incident and deserving of penalties.- 449 replies

Kozzie got 2 weeks for potential to injure, after jumping up, but not injuring and with the victim patting him on the bum and smiling. Hayward jumps up, hits the victim in the face, a first gamer btw, puts him on his back, injured slightly and stuns him for a while and gets off scott free. How is actually injuring, while doing exactly the same action no penalty, while not injuring but having potential to injure 2 weeks. This is worse than chook lotto, it’s imbeciles at play.- 449 replies

Then why haven’t Rankine and Hayward gone. Hayward left the ground for contact to the face. Rankine hit with his hip to the face. I would accept the week if Goody in his presser, said we are at a loss to understand what is illegal, when we see worse acts being allowed. He can word it in a way that avoids any fine, but at least say something. He could also mention that our players are completely confused when umpires pay frees against players, when the action rewarded later leads to a suspension. Make the comment we seem to be a very unlucky club in MRO decisions, then joke that it is probably just the rub of the green. It at least puts it out there, without direct criticism. Follow the lead of Scott and others. -
Cats have about 4 of their best mids out, Danger, C. Guthrie, Duncan and Menegola plus Stanley.

And on the MRO who is totally inconsistent with his deliberations. How Rankine and Hayward aren’t cited for worse actions and outcomes, in the same weekend, is just bewildering . -
I hope replacements can win it for us. Could be 4 changes.

Rankine and Hayward nothing. Rankine hip straight into guys face. MFC APPEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This guy is a moron who is targeting us clearly. Enough is enough. Gawn smashed in the face trying to mark and nothing. Fogarty a couple of weeks ago. This system is stuffed and Christian is hopeless. Appeal and show every incident he has let off.- 449 replies

They just said Pies run the ground to score 1 in 3 times, from the kick out. What would our stat be for that, kicking to a contest on the left side, nearly every time. Also what is the stat for scores by opposition from our kick outs. We don’t seem to be as focussed on our pressure as we were in 2021.

Or a player and a pick or two. However our target may not be the obvious Reid. We may want a few players.

Petty is out for several weeks.

And who decides what is a sufficient attempt at winning the footy. What percentage would be required to make it not a suspension. What a joke this has all become. When every ex player says, with injury prevention at the forefront of their opinion, that Hunter did this perfectly to avoid injury as players have been taught, then why is one bloke, inconsistently, doing this job of penalising players. -
That’s a bit unfair, as BBO has just organised his 10 yearly Manor spruce up. Those possum droppings in the moat will be removed and any dead animals also removed at the same time.

You should not be made to feel scared at a sporting event or anywhere else for that matter. If Ryan was physically attacked that is assault and he should report it to the Police, the AFL and Ground Management and Port Power. Threatening you and others and putting you in fear of your safety is also an assault and you should be doing likewise. Ringing and emailing news outlets and radio should also be considered. We don’t need our sport’s enjoyment being damaged by drunken thugs. Sorry you had that experience, but from what I have heard and seen, the time I went to watch us play in Adelaide, it’s not new or an isolated incident. No wonder inexperienced umpires are too scared to umpire properly in Adelaide.

Correct, too many say what they don’t know.

I amended my post as on further examination, Rozee actually touches ball just before Hunter, but Hunter seeing that stops and turns, to make any contact lighter, with his bum rather than hip, a more fleshy cushion. Rozee follows through and actually raises his arms and grabs at Hunter and contact is to the chest. -

You can see the spin at work. Tim Michell reports in todays Herald Sun, that Langdon got him in the head, with a hip and shoulder. Go back and see the twitter in this thread and my photo a few posts back and you can see contact is with bum to chest. No shoulder and no head. Hunter actually gets to the ball about same time , stops and turns as Rozee comes in down low. As the ex players have said, he did it perfectly, to protect Rozee who comes in low and second and what else could he do after he stopped moving. The whole problem is MRO is picking and choosing who to penalise and worse incidents are being ignored. Maybe we challenge, just to get Tribunal to tell us what he did wrong in the above scenario. If you are going for the ball and stop and player coming in contacts you, what should you have done. Also importantly it is not the head and no injury. -
Umpires. Can’t we play without them?

Just put this picture up. Hits him at best with his bum in the chest and Rozee actually grabs Hunter as contact takes place. How is that high contact? -
