Ok thanks, I hadn’t heard those nick names.

Need them to win this week. Pick 4 is nearly there for us.
  3. Ben McKay came from the same womb, on the same day, as Harry Mc Kay, but I can’t really think of anything else.

    Who are fridge and freezer?

He is not a “great” player, he is a good player and as much as I am a fan, that is the problem. He is behind some great players. Even if Harmes, Dunstan and Laurie go, who are all behind him, freeing up some cap space, that is probably not the answer as it’s about playing regularly. I would move on ANB and Spargo to give him more opportunity, but that won’t happen.

    That was a painful PF.

Sadly they won’t be able to do a video of me telling my parents. Maybe they could do one of me telling my grandchildren.

Has a nice ring to it.

More chance of me playing for the Dees this week than that happening:

All three might go. Laurie as well possibly, as he doesn’t look like getting a game.

No one else was the whole season and if Harmes wanted/needed to come off with a slight headache or sore fingernail, it was rough on JJ.

I hope you don’t get your nuts caught in your zipper for any reason.

I never understood that. If Harmes offered, why did Goody refuse? It seems pretty cruel, when you are 10 goals up, with minutes to play, to not let him on the ground.

Forget Mooney Valley, not a hope in hell, as every inch has been utilised in the new development. IMO the VRC wouldn’t consider it. Yes Caulfield is Crown land administered by a trust, that I once was willing to be involved with after some discussions, but it came to nothing. The community mixed use would be the pillar to get it done at Caulfield and there is stacks of available space for everyone to be happy.

I am not sure that is correct. They did say that they wanted the community to benefit long term, not just for a 12 day sporting event and added that the community facilities would be achieved. I am not sure how much money we expected from the State Government anyway, rather the site for the new facilities has been the biggest issue.

Goody and Richo said it. But they never said he would be a key forward, only that they wanted more from him when in the forward line. Totally reasonable. TBH, I would imagine a club FD would want more from every player, in every position .

Sounds great to me. Grundy plays the game of his life, kicking 4 goals and assisting in many more, in a winning GF.

I think you are being unfair to Daz. He is only saying that not everyone can become a regular AFL footballer and that it may not be the most important thing in his life anyway. I wanted to play with the Doobie Brothers, my all time favourite group, but alas, I now strum away on my own or post on DL.

Correct. Gawn will be 32 in December and Grundy just turned 29. Max would have a pretty banged up body by now.

Best motivation you can get, someone telling you that you can’t do something.

Just as a discussion point, how can we say absolutely that Grundy can’t play forward, when he has played mainly as a ruckman and hasn’t been tried in that role? It may not work, but it might. He would be a hard matchup for the opposition. My Pies’ mates who have seen him play for 10 years, say he is more a ruck rover than a ruckman. Remember someone else described that way? We have seen him pick up the ground ball, run and bounce, take marks up forward and kick about 10 goals so far this year. JVR is smaller than Grundy, less experienced and not dominating yet. BBB has lost some of the little mobility he had and goes out of the game and has kicked only a few goals in the last few games. Tom Mac is injured and Schache is obviously not being considered. BBB and JVR kicked one goal between them against the Lions. I can’t believe that Grundy can’t offer similar up forward atm, or at least the same as BBB or JVR. He is strong, fit and experienced. He is a fair kick for goal. He is also the perfect chop out for Max and a better forward ruck than our two forwards. Him playing there saves JVR being belted and exhausted and affecting his main role as a forward. All I am saying is this can work for a while. It is not an impossibility like some pundits in the media are saying.

Better for us if Brisbane win.
