  1. Surely Brock is injured?? He is one of the slowest players in the comp at the moment. Needs a rest regardless if he is injured or not as his impact has been ordinary of late. I don`t understand why we are playing Robbo when there are kids at Casey who need a taste in these last few rounds of footy. Very ordinary effort from all of the players YM mentioned!
  2. Awesome! Hard not to get emotional reading this! We love you Jimmy!
  3. I hope Belly recovers in a few weeks and gets a chance to prove himself again. Yes he mad some clangers but did some good things later on. He is by far the best tackler in our team apart from Wheels who will most likely not be around for much longer. He is certainly running out of time, but I still think he is a chance of being a player
  4. 6 Bruce 5 Jamar 4 Jurrah 3 Moloney 2 Petterd 1 Jetta
  5. Surely you will have to change your name now from BBV to BBW. Only poster to give him a chance! nice work!
  6. Pencil in a win this weekend. This just might fire up the the leadership group. Thanks for all you`ve done Jimmy, you saved our club from a slow death! Get well soon.
  7. He has a little breathing space for a while yet. The knives will be well and truly out if we start the season 1 and 6 or 1 and 7 next year. Lets pray this does not happen but it is a possibility with the amount of inexperienced kids we will have on the park next year! Bailey would like to be seeing signs that we are turning the corner by round 7 or 8 next year or he is GOOORRRN!!
  8. The Hot jam donuts were pleasing today!
  9. Have not looked forward to a game like this in years! 70K plus crowd is not out of the question if there weather stays OK. A bit of sun would have been nice. I seriously think we can pull a win off today. We have shown for over a month that we can match the top teams for a half of footy or better! If we can play 3 great quarters of footy we will beat the pies. I know the players have been quoted in the press that they will treat it like any other game, but you know they won`t. This is our GF for the year and Malthouse knows it, just like he came out last year and almost bagged us for lifting so much against his ``blockbuster`` team! Go Boys and Go Jack!
  10. I also go alone each week but I am taking 4 people who would not normally come to the footy today. I am super excited and it feels like a final for me! Yes Dappa I do feel privileged!
  11. Yeah Deanox I saw it. It was text book perfect the way Ricky competed for that ball and did it 100% fairly. Makes you shake your head in disbelief when you think of Rougheads push against us 2 weeks ago with the umpire in perfect position that he decided was a fair contest!
  12. I would have been happy for Miller to have a rest this week, but seeing JW is set to debut on Monday we simply have to have Miller in the forwardline to help him out with the niggles and shoving that he will no doubt receive in his 1st game. Time to stand up Brad!
  13. Will be BOG against The Filth. I hope his Dad has a quiet word in his ear before he runs out on the G reminding him of what their scum supporters did to him last time we met!
  14. Vossy`s hip and shoulder on the Collingwood dude is the best I have ever seen! I have been wanting to see that for years. Thanks mate!!!
  15. Just got back from the G. I hope some other Demonlanders were there to enjoy it as it was a privilege to be there. It was in the Frank Grey Smith bar in the members with finger food provided and drinks available at the bar! Schwabby spoke with great passion about our direction and how other clubs are beginning to take notice of our improving situation on and off the field. He is a terrific speaker. DB was his usual casual self and gave a good insight into what he is doing with the list. Players are being tried in several positions on the ground (eg, Martin and Morton of late) in the hope that in a few years time we will be a very hard team to coach against due to the players flexibility in different roles around the ground. He definitely is out to win games however! The 3 lads there were Belly, Chip and Dunny. All had a 5 minute chat and were very happy to talk to people thru the night. Belly was asked to tell the story about how he became such a good tackler by tackling sheep on the farm and throwing them in the ute!. He said Chip Frawley used to do it as well but for different reasons !! I thought it was very funny but i think a few eyebrows were raised by some older folk! Nice one Belly. I had a good chat with Chip. Top fella and I reckon there is a lot of larrakin in him. A very likable bloke. Both Belly and Dunny seem like good fellas too and its nice to be represented by such seemingly good blokes! Chip rolled his ankle a little against hawks just quietly! Finally, just before i left for home I took a stroll out into the members stand with not a sole in sight and just stood there and worshiped our home. Just f%$@ing sensational!!! I love our football team!!
  16. I am 40 and was fortunate enough to grow up as a young lad and all my teenage years watching most of Robbie`s career. We rarely missed a game, in fact I still rarely miss a game. As far as the best MFC player in my lifetime Robbie stands clearly on his own with a massive gap to 2nd best ( I can`t decide between Garry Lyon and the injury plagued Steven Tingay) Late 70`s and most of the 80`s was quite simply a graveyard for the Dees. We were very ordinary for nearly 10 years plus until 87. For me though, just being able to watch Flower display his magic made the losses bearable. Even at the age of about 10, I knew that Flower was something special, he was rarely beaten by any opponent. He and Keith Greig used to have some epic battles, but Flower would win nearly every time. Melbourne would regularly lose by 10 goals plus, but Robbie was not only our best player, but best on ground by a country mile. It was hard to tell if he was naturally left or right kick, handball and even bouncing the ball. It just looked so easy for him. You would fear for his life the way he attacked the ball and backed into packs but he rarely got hurt and rarely got tackled! Dipper is the only bloke I ever saw clean him up and bust his shoulder! For those of you not fortunate enough to see him play, there must be some old videos or dvd`s floating around that you simply must get your hands on. If not, then go to the G and watch Cale Morton go around, because he not only is showing early likeness, he will challenge Robbies title as the best ever Demon after we dissect his 300 game career.
  17. Very unlucky both Cheney and Barts. You can safely say that ``tanking`` is not in Bailey`s vocabulary.
  18. Yes, happy with that! I dare say that unless Valenti is injured, he may well of played his last game for the MFC
