I wouldn`t mind picking him up. However, I have my doubts that we`d be throwing a `` Red Herring`` to draft him. Could this be considered draft tampering if the AFL decide to investigate and it turns out there is no such injury. Then again, how do you determine who starts a rumour??I agree though if the rumour is true, I doubt we`d take the risk. We`ve had enough of these injuries which can prove to be very long term.

You don`t always believe what you read in the papers, but I reckon Hutchy is spot on! I hope MFC have moved on and are not spending one nanosecond of time still considering picking up Luke Ball.

I am so excited about LJ and what he is bringing to our club. I think all of us were more than a little concerned about the go home factor for Liam and who could blame him if he ever did. But I reckon we can rest easy with regards to that now. There is an imbedded bond between the MFC and Liam`s community. It seems they are as grateful for the opportunity that we have given Liam, as we are that he is wearing our jumper and proud of it. Well done Dees, we took a punt when other clubs wouldn`t dare take such a risk (which it clearly was!). I`ll cry like a baby boy the day I see this bloke hold the Cup at the G when we when our first flag in nearly 50 years!

These clubs didnt have #1 PSD and that`s the big difference IMO Billy. Luke now knows, that we know, he doesn`t want to play for us. Can`t understand why we`d want him after he`s already turned his back on us.

I would love to have seen Luke Ball in the Red n Blue next year. It may still happen... But now I hope we don`t simply due to the fact that so many posters have argued.. He doesn`t want to be here!! Nothing wrong with that mind you. If he has nominated for the ND (which was confirmed on AFL.com.au), and we now pick him up with #18, I reckon there will be more than a few unhappy players that would that have to spend the next few years with him in our team when he seemingly doesn`t want to be there. The team/club simply can`t afford this to happen!

Shane Watson`s knock was one of the best I`ve seen in a long,long time. Didnt see Much of Sachin, but must have been pretty special!

Happy with this! Tough 1st 3 games is a slight concern, I just hope we don`t get flogged and young players drop their heads for a few weeks after. Best of all, only 1 twilight game and it`s an away game against the saints. We must have had 2 or 3 Sunday twilight home games this year which cost the club a small fortune with shockn crowds and just crap atmosphere to be at! 7 or 8 wins next year will do nicely

Yep, injuries have cruelled us plenty of times before. We should have won a flag somewhere between 98 and `02, but injuries crippled us. This is the only thing that will stop our surge and as you say, lets hope they have learnt how to manage our seemingly never ending list of injured players.

We will play finals in 2011, no doubt in my mind whatsoever. Top 4 in 2012 and then the fun begins. If we don`t win a flag in 2013, we will the following year. The reason I am so certain is because we will have a number of elite players, perhaps superstars in our team which we have really lacked for as long as I can remember in my 40 yrs as a Demon. Grimes, Morton, Watts and Jurrah will become AA players, Sylvia looks like he has decided he will use his freakish talents on the footy field and not King Street, Davey just might keep getting better and our backline is shaping up to be the best in the comp in 2 to 3 years. Dare I mention the expectations of how good Scully n Trengove will be! Gee , this is gonna be good!
