  1. Was at the final and watched us closely in the warm up and knew we were in trouble. Ben Brown, Lever, Trac, Gawn and Salem all looked lame. No doubt a touch of bathwater , but we were ripe for the picking. If we were not playing so hurt Brisbane would not have got near us.
  2. I'm with you Mr Partridge! Kane Cornes was belittled by a lot on here after being the first to suggest he is gettable before anyone else raised it. Gee I hope he's wrong but you'd expect his mail from Port would be strong. Would hate to lose him, but if he helps us get a flag this year he can go with my blessings, we'd have to get a seriously good player in return.
  3. Poor kid. 3 month hammy confirmed. Hope he recovers and has a good career up there but that is a serious injury.
  4. Jack Watts went to Brighton Grammar....oh heck hang on!
  5. Saty in a training thread....as rare as a Mr snuffleupagus appearance in Sesame Street!! Don't be a stranger!
  6. Pretty sure Jordan Lewis said exactly this 2 years ago or so.
  7. I wonder how long it will take him to say " WTF was I thinking!" When he takes a good hard look at his current hairdo.
  8. Lost me at Bulldogs open at 2023 and Swans closing in 2024.....will be open for most of this decade.
  9. I know someone that knows him very well. He is very much his own man, doesn't like being given orders and sounds very hard to coach. It's the only reason he's been delisted because he is good enough to be in just about any team in the comp. He just doesn't appear to want the scrutiny and intensity of the footy world. Could be a damn good player if he wants it bad enough.
  10. He should get plenty of looks at the footy, every kick in is coming his way, just don't get in Max's way Lachie!!
  11. Or environmentally non friendly cars!
  12. I should feel enthused that we are about to land one of the great ruckmen of the modern era....but I don't! I just don't get how him and Gawn combo will work!
  13. I do remember him going off limping in the last game, but came back onto the field a while later.
  14. Yep We were every bit as dominant in the first half on Friday as we were at the Gabba. I'm tipping the stats would be very similar for contested possession, clearance, inside 50s etc. Only thing that changed was accuracy and we left the door open.
  15. It's fitness and playing injured players for mine, along with stubborn coaching/ selection / game plan. Must admit though, i don't think I once heard selfless footy being banged on about like it did all of last year!
  16. Gee those 2 goals on the siren came back to haunt.
  17. Yes to pretty much everything. We tried EVERYTHING we did last year, without a plan B. Played injured players like last year expecting same result. Do we blame players for putting their hand up to play, OR coaches for not freshening up when it was so obvious blokes were playing hurt AND being so damn predictable and refusing to make changes when teams picked us apart in 2nd halves . It's the latter for me. We looked good in nearly every first half before running out of steam
  18. Definitely has The Tim Taranto vibe about it. Strikingly similar both appear to have checked out!
  19. It was probably 70-30 crowd to us. I thought they were louder than us and I was there. Heard Bucks say same thing post match and he was there. It's not hard to see why. A combination of a very old demographic and a lot of supporters with hearts in their mouths waiting for the 2nd half fade out.
  20. Even at 10-0 we weren't playing great footy, most of those wins were an arm wrestle for 3 quarters and we dominated 1. Our game plan , our run n carry that was some of the best footy ever seen last year was non existent and to me it is clearly fitness, we simply could not run games out like last year and execute our game plan. At least 6 blokes out there were on 1 leg tonight. Lever, Brown, Trac, Salem, Gawn, Viney . You can't carry that many sore players and expect to win. Blessing in disguise, we'd have got pantsed and embarrassed against Geelong. Goodnight all.
  21. 3 votes. Delta Goodrem
  22. Dees by 8 goals late in the 3 Rd. Trac "rested" with soreness. You heard it here first.
  23. Unfortunately for us Lions omitted Robbo and Matho!
  24. I vividly remember her eyeballing me at the first gig I ever went to as a 15yo. I was starstruck. Sorry Mono she's mine . RIP Rock goddess
