  1. Mini rebuild Wrecker. Rebuilds happen in the off season. We had no more changes than the median. You said rebuild. Now we seem to arguing about team changes from round 1. Team changes are just shuffling what we already have. Rebuilding is changing the list isnt it? Thats what i always thought it was anyway. Its another matter entirely. Still think you are clutching at straws, especially with the May/Lever thing. They are both experienced AFL players. As is Jones who was also one of the changes (Nearly 300 games). We had 2 new kids and a bloke who hasnt played for 3 years.... they were the only "fresh" (As in "new") players.
  2. List changes. Sorry i thought i made that obvious Wrecker. You mentioned mini-rebuild when we had no more list changes than the median. 3 of or our additions had played senior footy before. I was pointing out that if 9 list changes was a mini-rebuild then 12 clubs had the same Mini-rebuild. Unless your post was specifically related to the changes just for last weeks game i dont see how we were worse off than most of the league.
  3. Tomlinson, Langdon and May are all experienced players, not newbies. Werent 2 of them also named in our best? Harley also did pretty well for someone out of the game for 3 years. So we had 3 debutants. Didnt seem to hurt us for the first 40 mins or so. Its the obvious drop off in intensity that needs to be addressed. We got to a huge lead and then put the cue in the rack. Until that stops we are going to be wallowing down near the bottom of the ladder. Physically we are (reportedly) up with the best. Mentally and skills-wise we are not very good to say the least.
  4. Actually im about to do just That ET. Sounds like Wrecker is straw-clutching. (Love your work though @Wrecker45) Only 6 clubs had less changes than MFC during the off-season. CFC, GEEL, NMFC, RFC WCE and The Dogs. The lowest was 5 changes (Dogs) and the highest of that group was 8 (Eagles) We had 9 changes... the same as 5 other clubs. 6 teams had more changes than us. The highest being The Swannies with 12. So we are right in the middle of list change numbers. If we had a mini-rebuild, so did 11 other clubs. If Goodwin cant find a way to get inside our players heads and get the best out of them, we are going to need a genuine rebuild before his contract is up. Too many seem comfortable "cruising". One of the interviews in the day or 2 after the game said that the players felt like they had a bit left in the tank after the game. I couldnt believe our team hadnt given it everything, particularly as they were being over-run. As someone else said in another post on here, MFC arent right in the head. If its not on the Coach to make sure that happens, and we are relying on players to do it themselves we are in for a world of hurt. Nobody on our team knows what effort it takes to win a premiership so we dont have that kind of on-field leadership. It has to come from Goodwin or it wont come at all.
  5. Reckon the OP was written by one of Goodwins kids. Todays learnings are...... Your old man cant coach footy. Sorry.
  6. Awesome a new [censored].... just what we need.
  7. Fail to see how its on Goodwin? The bloke is responsible for our habits. He has mentioned many many times about building good habits. One of our habits is getting full of ourselves after a fast start (not that it happens often) and slowing to a virtual halt. If a Coach cant sort out that behaviour he is in the wrong job. That it has been going on for decades say we are likely to have employed more rubbish coaches than most other teams. I dont include Roos as he started with a cupboard full of stale bread and at least made a Salad Sandwich out of it. Goodwin started with a Pantry from Masterchef and made Baked Beans on toast. We havent had a 3 course meal Coach for over 50 years. Yes it's on him, as it would also be to his credit if we finally managed to shake those rusted on bad habits. The buck stops with him. I really think he is a fraud as a coach. If he can prove me wrong i will put my hand up, but until then....
  8. Out : 1 point win In : 30 point loss Seriously, we are still a terrible team/club. To think that Peter Jackson once said in the press that it was "Offensive" to suggest Goodwin wasnt a good coach.. The only part that is offensive is the length of contract this bloke has. We are going NOWHERE with him at the helm. Big winner today was Norf. We cant make enough changes to that error-plagued and lazy outfit to make much difference next week. Beyond disappointing.
  9. Goodwin Is A Fraud.
  10. He would spend that entire 30 mins giving the umpires a spray.
  11. Nah, all good P-Man. The reactions on here have reinforced what i thought. Leftists get all frothy at the mouth when their ABC is disrespected. It is exactly what i expected, and what has occured. (as my posts will have reinforced whatever feelings the Leftist reader wanted it to reinforce) The simple, undeniable fact that "progressives" get all up in arms about the ABC being disrespected, while "conservatives" believe it is horribly, irredeemably biased proves my point. I always get a chuckle out of claims like "the right have moved so far to the extremes etc etc"..... its an obvious Strawman, but gets used all the time. The exact same thing in reverse happens when you discuss practically any other network. Witness the reactions to the mere mention of Sky News. Your own comments pointing to former Murdoch employees as obviously from one side of politics is another example. you certainly didnt use the link to show that Murdoch employees are unbiased did you? How would it look if i did the same with any number of former ABC propagandists presenters... kinda feels the same doesnt it? We all know who is biased in their reporting, and the ABC is right at the very top of that list. The people they got across from Murdoch were for the very reason i stated... The ABC was screaming out for some balance. That you think they dont belong at the ABC again reinforces my point. The Left cant stand having to give airtime to anyone right of ANTIFA. Remember when Amanda Vanstone (iirc) had her own show on ABC? It was ironically called "Counterpoint"... obviously because a Conservative viewpoint was counter to the prevailing view of Their ABC. It has been going on for years and years. There is not a single news network in the Western world who can reasonably claim to be genuinely down the middle. ALL OF THEM favor one side of politics over the other. People will naturally gravitate to whichever news source gives them a viewpoint that matches theirs. It is human nature. I have 3 tabs saved which automatically open in my browser whenever i open Chrome. Hun, Oz and The Age. The truth will usually be somewhere in the middle. Dont get me started on The Guardian.... its absolute trash. *i would still take Sky news over Their ABC News any day of the week.
  12. Hypocrite thay name is Dr. Gonzo Sky NEWS is impartial and should have been our international broadcaster. Im talking JUST the news service, not the opinion shows. Bolt et al (who are as partisan as the ABC) were never going to be a part of the Sky international channel.
  13. If you dont like losing arguments, best you not engage in future
  14. The one part you failed to highlight was that the charter says they have to be balanced. They are not, and only extremists think so.
  15. Triggered leftist Check.
  16. No. The international Sky news service was never going to have Bolt or Chris Kenny on it. It was also the recommended broadcaster of an independent panel. You are clearly triggered. Best you find a safe space.
  17. Sky News Chanel for a start. You know, the Channel that was selected to be our overseas braodcaster before Conroy stepped in and gave it to #theirABC in perpetuity. AP are also usually even handed. The worst in Oz are ABC, and The Guardian and the HUN on the other side. At least the Australian gives a platform to Left leaning contributors. Most biased in the US are CNN, MSDNC, NYT, WAPO, Fox and Breitbart As before though, the answer is irrellevant. None of these outlets OTHER than the ABC has a public funding charter to provide balance. It doest, and has not for a very long time. Now yours champ.
  18. There are some, but the answer is totally irrelevant. The ABC has a charter to be balanced while the others dont and can please themselves. Their ABC has gone so far left it is beyond redemption. Axe it now and save the $1B AUD
  19. Aged Care Nurse and Union Rep. Nice assumption fail. #DefundtheABC
  20. If we want to win a premiership some time in the not-too-distant future, we need to learn how to win against good sides regularly, regardless of the Where and When. If you are happy to keep making excuses for our quite frankly embarrassing performances year after year after year then you are happy to never see the team improve. As long as we are "Nice blokes" or "Try our best" eh? '64 was a lifetime ago. Its time to expect more. Much more. Carlton should be a walkover in their current state. The fact it could go either way is more of a brickbat for us than a bouquet to them. Win well this week or P.O. MFC. Make me a believer.
  21. The ABC deserves to be gutted as it is the only one who has a charter to provide balance, but stubbornly refuses to do so. It used to be a great media outlet back when i was a kid but has become nothing more than a Green-Left propaganda mouthpiece. It also seems to go out of its way to push the most critical viewpoint of Australia. The Project is a great fit for the ABC come to think of it.
  22. At first (rushed) glance i thought it might have been about C.Oliver. Sigh of relief on second reading. Thank [censored] for that.
  23. ****z getting REAL !!! thanks for the 'cast... pumped for the weekend. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DEES!
  24. Did you just dis' my pal Nev?? You didnt just do that did you??? Nobody disrespects Nev on my watch. Grrrr. *wistfully thinks of Nev........ (Super excited to see Rivers develop though, i think he will become known as a draft steal over the next couple of seasons.)
  25. At least we know it wont be us. Whatever makes the season a success though. AFL must be working 23 1/2 hrs a day to do all of this on-the-run organizing.
