Bombers fans are convinced Gaff will nominate them. Im not so sure. Polec has been offered a fortune at North, and Port are preparing for him to take it. Reckon Shiel is a big chance to get to Essendon if they dont get Gaff. Glad we have finals to focus on this year.

Polec has been offered superstar money from North. Plenty at Port expect him to take the money. North will get their couple of signings, but they will be out of the market for years when they do. We just have to hope that we can show more promise success-wise to help us land some good players on slighty less coin. Reaching finals soon means more to our future than some admit.

North will take anyone who is prepared to come to them. It's not that much different to MFC from 5-10 years ago. The main difference IMO is that Norf is getting in before they bottom out, whereas we thought we were on the bottom and thought we were on the way up with all our high draft picks. North has performed well this year due to an easy draw, not because of their list. They KNOW they don't have much time left before they bottom out big time. It will be a long rebuild for the Kangas if they cant snag a couple of guns with all the cash they are offering up, but even then, a couple of good players won't get them a premiership. This time around, we have gone about it the way good teams do... build the basis of a premiership team from the draft, and trade for the missing pieces. Norf are us from a few years back... paying overs for decent players just to get someone to take the bait. (First signing will probably be Aaron Hall on big coin). Sainters will be the same this year. I have never been a fan of being "patient", in fact the last decade has shitted me to tears, but the Dees are showing that a slow, considered, focused rebuild is really the best way to go about it. Im a believer.

Watch the Nathan Jones interview on the club website and it also has a couple of hints that we are certainly in the hunt. I have very strongly suspected for months that we are a huge chance, and nothing from the past couple of days dampens that hope.

They didnt want Melbourne punished for something we had no hand in?

So he gets 10 weeks and plays his first game for us in round 4 or 5 Might just debut in the same game that Lever returns. I can live with that

Unfortunately, sometimes you bring back a little something you picked up by mistake... Its doesnt always "Stay in Thailand"...........

Im loving the journos having a dummy spit about Gaff being able to bypass them. So you didnt get to shove your microphone into his face and ask stupid questions you idiots ?? Guess you will just have to act all offended that he was "whisked away by a police escort" or something like that. Peanuts.

Heh, he is only a plodder anyway.... Saty was right after all. *i reserve the right to hail him a champion if he want to come to us.
  10. I would love to see the detailed plans (if they exist) for the building in this proposal. Floorplan i mean. It would have to be costing millions wouldnt it? With the proposal to dump pokies, that puts us already 10 million or so per year down on income. How on earth does the club expect to pay for it? Obviously, they have a plan or it wouldnt have even been announced. Anyone have some insight on funding, or will the club be back to begging for donations again? I am pumped for this plan and hope like hell it comes to being. MFC hasnt had a place to call home for, well, forever. It would be great to see a shiny new multi-storey complex in a prominent position with our clubs name plastered all over it, wouldnt it ? (FFS now i am sounding like Bruce) Make it happen MFC.
  11. If he seals the deal i am happy to volunteer for the job. ?

He must have meant to log in with another one of his other accounts. lol... Multi-fail.
  15. True that. Who are the free agents at the end of next season then? (to go with whoever we snag this year lol)
  16. Wont have the required draft currency till next year anyway, so unless we are happy to give them one of our good players, i cant see it happening this year. No harm in openly targeting players from a long way out though. It worked for us with Lever. I love the way we are run these days.

He will play for whoever he chooses, as all offers will be good monetarily, and it all boils down to what other factors are important to him. If money is everything, you will see him at either North or Stkilda. If its finals action, welcome to the MFC A.Gaff. That is all assuming he wants out of W.A. ofc. The Eagles will only match his offer if it doesn't qualify for a round 1 compo pick, which it certainly should, based on his current value. If he hasnt signed before the finals he is gone. MFC will be up to their eyeballs in this. I very much hope we land him as he would slot in perfectly.

Get. Gaff. (Reckon we are a genuine chance)
  21. Funnily enough Beelz, if Angus stays fit and plays to his potential, i actually HOPE im wrong. That would mean Trac has turned into a fuggin beast, because if Brayshaw develops the way i think he will, thats what it will take for Trac to be the more influential player. Win/Win
  22. If Angus can stay injury free from here i will make this prediction....... He will be more important to us over his career than Petracca. I dont say that because i think Trac is a dud (although he has been rated higher than his output deserves SO FAR in his career). I say it because Angus possesses something that not many AFL players have..... 2 sides. Now i know that a few followers of our team have criticised his disposal over the last year or so, and with some merit, but his early games displayed an ability to deliver off both feet that was so good, many were openly asking what his natural foot was. Trac stands up in a tackle as good as anyone i remember, but Angus has the ability to deliver from his right or left foot which is a crucial skill for an extractor. Trac might provide the cameos, but my money is on Brayshaw to impact the game more effectively, more often. Once he has full confidence in his own form/fitness this kid will be great. *the only caveat is that he stays fit.

I have a strong hunch that we are into him, and have been for a while. He will look good in our jumper.
  24. Or Bugg. Or Pedersen. We all have our whipping boys.
  25. I choose to believe anything that paints my club in a negative light. I will also blame this obviously true revelation when we lose tonight. I KNEW we were in trouble off field and this confirms my view 100% We are a rabble. Tigers by 100 points.
