WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
ding replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
I will fair dinkum pee myself if he plays and kicks some goals. -
I would be happy just to be within a kick at the final siren.
-
Second song was a bit slow for me, but i quite enjoyed the first one. Not bad Tim. Certainly far better than anything i could offer up. (Other than in the shower, where ofc, i rock)
-
Can get a handpass out pretty quick but has zero other weapons. An easy decision to delist when the list size is reduced.
-
Wow you are right..... We actually played really well that day And it was only 25 Games ago. Goodwin is a fraud.
-
I think you both missed the tongue-in-cheek gist of my post. #mfcss
-
Now watch the AFL give us only 3 or 4 home games at the 'G, while gifting the other clubs 10 games each. #MFCSS

yeah nice post Clint. I have attempted to purchase some Murch on the club website, but the voucher i chose to get with my membership isnt accepted when i go to the online shop to buy my Down jacket and a cap for my daughter. Im not asking for anything more than the voucher to work so i can get some club stuff to wear I then, like every other member recieved an email from the club which i attach here....... Then i sent an email stating i not only didnt want a refund, but wanted to make a (very modest) donation on top of my membership to help MFC out. the following reply came from the Club.... I saw that i had a missed call on my mobile phone a few days later, but dont know who it was from. We really do need to be more proactive if we are to come out of this bloody Virus lockdown in a survivable position.

$6 to $10 Million revenue hole this year. More revenue shortfall in future years Sounds ugly.

I was SURE it was the Deep State.

So, ..... you agree with me. Awesome. Seriously though your first sentence is spot on, although a bit obvious. OFC as MFC supporters we want all of our players to be champions. I also hope Trac becomes a gun sooner rather than later. He still has a sky-high ball drop in general play, and it needs to be fixed so he can deliver the ball consistently. If he averages over 100 this year i will be very pleased. No harm in hoping for 120 or more though is there?
-
Looks nice in slow-mo and under no pressure i admit. Watch him in general play in a couple of weeks with his eyes as wide as dinner plates, holding the ball practically in front of his face before he drops it to his boot. He is improving and might actually become the really good player we all hoped, but he still hasnt delivered a huge game in anything more than pre-season matches so far. *fingers crossed

Not quite HT. His super high ball drop has been a problem for his whole career. Also needs to learn how to kick straight at goal. At least 2 skills that still need a lot of work. Looking better as he gets older but still has some way to go.

Goodwin : "Hey guys, its nice to have you all back... its much better to connect in person isnt it?" Group : "Murmurs and nods" Goodwin : "I have been here a long time now but i cant ever recall a time i have seen so many beautiful hairdos... well done lads". Group : "nods and laughter" Goodwin : " righto guys, i wanna start off the session by encouraging you to give an air-hug to the guy either side of you... let 'em know you love them". Group : "nervous laughter and feet shuffling" Anonymous group comedian "Hey Goody we can go full-contact now" Goodwin : *Starts crying..... "Really ??" Group : "Laughter" Goodwin : "Nah, come on guys, get around each other, its been a long time between hugs" ..... Carlton at our fortress. Challenge accepted.

Hard to disagree with much of that Rab. The problem is that the CCP has become so aggressive that the time has come to find a different teat to suckle on before we are forced to live on our knees. Now if we got a new home base out of the deal i could be convinced. :P

Labor guy huh? Belt and Road is something we shouldnt go within 1 million miles of. Each to their own though. I thought it was pretty good myself.

Chairman Dan could get his Chinese mates to whip us up a new island base as part of their Honorable investment into the Great Peoples Republic of Danistan. Im told they have some recent experience making islands.

Good interview, but i put that down to the fact that Jake is such a good media performer. The stand out part for me is from 9:20 mins in where he said we didnt play the Melbourne way in round 1. You couldnt possibly be less accurate. The problem was we played EXACTLY the "Melbourne way". Win from the bounce and bomb it long . The whole league knows that is what we do. With the incredible quality of West Cokes backline that was never going to work. In fact it failed practically every match last year as well. The "Melbourne way" he talks about is not the way we play. Change or keep losing matches we shouldn't.
-
Swartz to Neitz... *sigh........ and when we are getting smacked about, shift Neeter back. Geez we have had some good ones over the journey, just not enough in the team at the same time. Wonder if any of our current young kids will make a list like that in another 50 years.

Goodwin Concerned About Cuts to Coaching Staff
ding replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The good teams will be Bing. if you have to sacrifice anything, it should be the hangers-on, and the lifestyle coaches. The very last people to be "let go" should be the people who teach the basics... kicking, tackling etc etc. If MFC get rid of people who teach the fundamentals of Footy so we can keep other , more generalised coaches, then we deserve whatever comes our way. NO club can afford to get rid of kicking/tackling coaches less than MFC. While we are at it, identify whoever it was that advised our mids to keep bombing it long to the forwards.... they would be the first people i would assist with a career adjustment. Interestiing times ahead. -

He might have to spend less time being a life coach and more time being a footy coach. Cue outraged Saty charging in on his trusty white steed in 5..4..3..2..1..- 34 replies

Thats probably the most accurate rundown of our team i have heard for years. Identified every one of the issues that have been talked about repeatedly on this site, then talked about the upside to our list. First time i have heard someone who actually watches our games and knows the players. Good interview.
