  12. I bang on about NHL a lot but those guys, and not just the top top guys are nuts when it comes to understanding they're body is there meal ticket. They are elite athletes so I need to train and eat like one. Couple of articles about one of my fav players in Nathan MacKinnon, he is nuts about his training and food intake, the second article on how he gets on team mates about a proper diet and had the team change what is served to all of the players... https://www.gq.com/story/real-life-diet-nathan-mackinnon https://www.bardown.com/former-avalanche-player-revealed-nathan-mackinnon-s-dietary-habits-and-the-memes-are-out-of-control-1.1677888 "“He’s crazy like that, he eats well. He doesn’t drink either. He only drinks water,” Zadorov said. “Two years ago in Colorado, he got rid of all the desserts he could. He also removed them from the locker room and pre-game meals. He had the white sauce (carbonara) removed from the menu when eating pasta. He even replaced regular pasta with chickpea pasta so we would eat more protein.” “He would say, “Guys, if you want to eat this sh*t, you have the off-season to do it. When you step in here, there won’t be any more of that, because we’re winning the Cup this year.” Zadorov also explained that it worked. “All the kids on the team see him do it,” he continued, ” they look up to him and want to do their part.” Liverpool and EPL clubs spend up big on it as well - https://www.goal.com/en/news/klopps-best-signing-how-liverpool-found-the-recipe-for/119dx07fkpe6j1vgd987pavnf1 Great to see Tracc and the boys embracing being a professional.
  13. Thanks!
  14. How amazing to think players from other clubs that come to the Dees might not be fit enough and need a modified/longer preseason program to get up to speed. Long gone are the Rodan, Dawes etc days.
  15. No you're not n the same category at aaalll p f.... going out to Casey, standing behind a chain link fence, dealing with snakes and putting together your reports... totally different 😜
  16. But we're counting on you! I'll be there and can't wait even though I live in the Macedon Ranges have kids and have a serious job.
  17. What, where did you see that Thbt?
  18. The article basically calling the Southern stand a crumbling mess and needs a refurb or it’ll lose its status as Australia’s sporting capital… laughable. It’s one thing that we don’t really kick up a fuss about as tax payers, our funded stadiums. Build may commence in 5 years and may take 3 years to complete.
  19. We're actually very lucky in the AFL world, the start of the season see's the new rules/new "interpretations" and general "we're not here to f k around guys" over umpiring but then tends to blend into a predictable pattern. That is unless the AFL decides they want to change something midstream. But this doesn't tend to change once we hit the finals series.. NHL ice hockey is one of the biggest changes you'll ever see, they don't call many penalties in a game in the regular season but come paly off time you can literally hit a bloke in the back as hard as you can, breaking your stick and you wont get penalised. Teams/coaches/announcers literally say the regular season is fine and you can win in that but you have to be built to play "play off hockey". You need to be big and strong and be able to stick it and take the punishment you'll get in the play offs.
  20. I've got no inside word Wells and Perty et al have seen the plans and they look great from what they've said publicly but until it's announced it's not a done deal, especially with an election on the way...
  21. Ha we had some friends drop over for dinner last night and after too many beers and wine I sat up watching the second half again… I woke just eerily happy and couldn’t remember why until seeing this thread. How good is FOOTY!!!
  22. Didn't they only test players if they were symptomatic as well in the end?
  23. Separate thing, it is also not just a resurface, the oval has been expanded to now make it as long as the G and as wide as Etihad. The home base is still to be decided/approved/announced/whatever but it is assumed it will be an addition to AAMI park.
