WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL

Im not trying to be an ahole here but Im not sure the allowance covers flying the family over from Perth, renting a house/car, supporting his partner and baby. As I said just take it in and think about how much joy this little step might have given him, close family and friends. He had it all at his fingertips, he was dropped into an incredibly s h it culture (the AFL created and should take responsibility for), lead astray/didn’t take his career seriously and then has been cursed by injury. It’s costing the Dees “nothing” (compared to a Clarke or Lumumba or Rohdan etc) and you’re worrying about closer to the deadline? Not sure any other player we may have looked at for this rookie spot would have the same “upside”/feel good factor even if it doesn’t work out on the field. -

Don’t over think it... just enjoy the moment, I bet Harley is... -
Pig looks in ripping nick and good to see, he has the reputation for enjoying the offseason too much, glad to see he and others have made the most of the offseason/preseason. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/559228/maroochydore-camp-michael-hibberd?videoId=559228&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1580636501001

AFLW: Preseason Training, Injuries, Best 21
Cards13 replied to Dees_In_October's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
Is it me or does it seem like the W comp suffers a higher injury rate than the men’s comp? ACLs in particular occurring at a decent % higher than the men’s. -
Donald Trump agrees.

Additional Preseason Games vs Essendon & North Melbourne

Oval size hasn’t changed but a great little set up, they do have their own training facilities/oval and offices in one place. -
Jonsey looks like he’s coming to the end in that pic.

Mr punch first ask questions later at his best. The way you present yourself on here suggests you don’t have empathy or you just have little self awareness, volunteering badge or not. As to Jesse, here is hoping you can find an outlet that brings you happiness, joy and satisfaction.

Naaa I was their today and had a chat to the trainers. They reckon they have sorted Harley out, no more running he is now solely to play footy while “race walking” ala Kerry Saxby. * *no validity to my “reporting”.

General soreness?

Brilliant!!!

In the case of HB I couldn’t agree the less. The less spotlight on him, the more chance for him to him to just focus on walking laps and kick to kick on a slow build up the better. He’s had enough spotlight at this point of his career to just leave him alone until he makes it or not.

The billy goats gruff are going to get you this year Mr Troll.

For your top 15% - 20% of your best/coming their prime players only. The rest of the list (no matter how much we strive for loyalty to the jumper) need to be interchangeable. The top % of players you need to lock down on the best deals for the club, as early as you can, for as long as you can. But it’s all calculated guess work. I’ve said it before but I’ve dropped into an Ice Hockey rabbit hole and the cut throat nature of it is incredible. Trading your captain/top 3 players mid season. 7 year. $10m a year contract to 30+ year olds. Giving away draft picks for a player for half a season who is going to hit the free agency market no matter if he wins a championship (the cup) or not. The clubs who are looking to use data/analytics and hold themselves to a very strict policy on players (only the best and youngest get the long deals, interchangeable pieces etc) will be the most successful.

Does he have the desire to be great? Does he have the mongrel to be great? Does he want to lead his teammates to be better not just be a fun guy? He has the package outside of the above, he showed small signs of wanting the above last year and this offseason. I hope for us and him he can keep it up for the next how ever many years as he could be one of the most exciting players in the game to watch.

YEAS!!! I have about 5 of the new ear "flatties" and love them. Need some new ones, the others are starting to wear a bit.
-
No?! He’s not back again?
-
Considering this is the season the club had ear marked as being a consistent finals team and consistently challenging for a flag then nothing short of that is a success for me, especially after last years total s h i tting of the bed.
-
I like his door knocking transport.

Nom nom nom!

Maybe our leaders of a few years ago were a bit sh i t/too young/had never been shown what makes a good captain or leader and that kind of thing was a little bit above them?
