But how do you know who Scott voted for? He could have given Lever five votes for all we know.- COACHES VOTES: Round 08
Do we actually know how the respective coaches voted or are we just assuming?- POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Geelong

I remember Michael Roach being award GOTD for a pretty straightforward set shot but got the gong because it was his 100th goal of the season. It certainly wasn't the best goal kicked that round.- POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Geelong

- Mother's Day: Goodness gracious me. Congrats to the AFL.
To the tune of The Addams Family ... "Your sister is your mother, Your father is your brother. You all *ahem* one another, The Magpie family"- PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Posters suggesting that McAdam comes in need to remember that he only played about a half in his VFL comeback game last week. He would need to get through close to a full game today to prove he's good to go at AFL level but I doubt they'd play him off a four day break against Carlton. All things going well, it's more likely we'll see him make his Demon debut the following week v West Coast.- POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Geelong

I remember Kevin McNamee coming to coach Portland in 1971, but was unaware of his Melbourne background. He later had the Clare Castle pub in Graham Street, Port Melbourne for many years.- Demonstone's Piece Of Cake, Easy As Pie, Money For Jam Picnic
You are correct in that surnames are proper* nouns but that doesn't apply to my team. They all share a surname with an actual thing, an object in real life. * Yours is probably improper.- Demonstone's Piece Of Cake, Easy As Pie, Money For Jam Picnic
Yes thrillseekers, all the players in my team share their surname with the name of something. In other words, all their surnames are also nouns. I've got another teaser ready to go but I'll give them a rest for now.- Demonstone's Piece Of Cake, Easy As Pie, Money For Jam Picnic
No more takers? I'll give it another couple of hours before the big reveal. Don't do, don't describe, just be!- Demonstone's Piece Of Cake, Easy As Pie, Money For Jam Picnic
A bit later than usual, but @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew has predictably nutted out the answer. I'll leave the teaser up overnight for others to grapple with should they wish to do so. It would be in potential solvers' interests to look at the players' names closely.- Demonstone's Piece Of Cake, Easy As Pie, Money For Jam Picnic
Another new player in @demosaw has opened his account with the correct answer. All medals have been won, but I can award a participatory DENIM.- Demonstone's Piece Of Cake, Easy As Pie, Money For Jam Picnic
Running into third place with his maiden attempt is the outsider @Neil Crompton who wraps up BRONZE. Other guesses more than welcome. Keep 'em coming!- Demonstone's Piece Of Cake, Easy As Pie, Money For Jam Picnic
Second place has been claimed by a poster I'll call A. N. Onymous who shuns the limelight but still takes home the SILVER for correctly identifying the connection.- Demonstone's Piece Of Cake, Easy As Pie, Money For Jam Picnic
Clue you say? Today's teaser is not related to football or to any other sport for that matter.- PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Geelong

Congratulations @La Dee-vina Comedia! You have indeed solved today's teaser and take home GOLD. I really thought that this one was at the easy end of the range and expected more answers by now.- TRAINING: Friday May 3rd 2024

Very close! Carlton and North Melbourne played each other in 1999 with no GF appearances since. - COACHES VOTES: Round 08
